If I'm understanding correctly, I want to do my 1RM test before I begin the program. Am I correct? Looking forward to starting the STS 3 month strength/cardio rotation on Monday!

Yes, you should take your 1RM test before beginning your STS program. Then use our Workout Manager to print your workout cards for each workout so you will know the proper weight to use.
