Default How do I reduce soreness?

Absolutely LOVE cathe and STS, but it seems that every time I do the dvds, I end up sore to the point that i can barely walk because it hurts so much and
It hurts to even open doors, etc. I always do the extended stretch, which I thought would reduce some of the pain, but it never does. Are there any tips for what I can do to reduce my soreness? Am I just lifting too much? (I feel like this probably isn't it because it's just barely challenging). I'm really flexible, so I always get really far into the stretch, so I'm not sure what else to do. It's kind of annoying when I have to take time off of working out because I can't even walk.
Thanks!
Mandy

I found the key to reducing my soreness was to concentrate on my after work out nutrition. For me that's breakfest. I always have a protein shake with a bowl of oatmeal. Adding the protein shake really did the trick for me.

Aleve! The official pain reliever of Cathe workouts!

Momto4- I just started drinking protein shakes during STS a few months ago and noticed that I was less achy too- perhaps there is something to that.

I notice this mostly with the leg workouts in Meso 1. Usually by the end of the Meso, my legs are not nearly as sore as in that first week. I think it is the gliding disc exercises. I am hoping the new series will address that by getting my legs more used to that movement and then they won't freak out when I start up Meso 1 after a break.

I have found that if I just push through the soreness (along with what the others above have said concerning nutrition, Aleve, stretching, hot bath) it really does alleviate if I am consistently lifting and working out. Generally, my real soreness comes if I am not faithful and consistent, that is, if I don't workout every day, I am more likely to be sore.

Then again, there is the weird part of me that takes a bit of pleasure in the soreness...because then I know I have done the work...and I say, "oh yeah! I can feel the muscle!"
