Hi all,

Just getting us started today. It's raining here today and we need the rain so bad. I'll check out yesterday's posts and be back later.

Happy Saturday!

Tracy

good morning early bird:)

quick check in I have class today from 9 to 1.

This morning hour run and MIS legs and MM legs.

Hi all,

Annointed - Hi, another early bird! Enjoy your class. That leg workout sounds like a good choice. I was thinking about doing double leg workouts 2x per week for 3 weeks too.

I ran my hilly route yesterday afternoon and it felt really good. Then I did Magically Hips. Taking Thursday as a rest day was probably a good idea. I'm doing push ups/pull ups for upper today, some leg work and yoga. I'm done with the leg rotation. I should do that leg/butt workout once more, but I just can't. I need some variety.

Traci - Ahhhhh..... I am so sorry about the injury. Please be very careful. A loss of strength is a sure sign that you have probably done some rather serious damage. The first thing will be to get the inflammation down, then the nerves will not have pressure on them and the strength should return. To what extent will probably depend on what tissue you actually damaged. From one who knows, I lost major muscle use in my left leg from the pressure on the nerves when I herniated the discs. Of course, I had no choice but to continue walking, but in the process of using other tendons/muscles etc. to move the leg, they became stressed and still bother me ever so slightly. That just compounded the rehab. I was thinking, maybe you should get a weighted vest for your leg work to really give the arm a rest. It WILL be ok eventually, it just really stinks when you are in the midst of an injury. I'm proud of you for putting your game face on and moving on! Look at it this way, you will be much more knowledgable when a client gets a strain or injury, and now that you have unfortunately been in that situation, it might help you to better help them! Or better yet, prevent it from happening!

Debra - Glad to see the happy Meez. What did you end up getting for breakfast? I love to eat breakfast out at a decent place. We frequent IHOP and Cracker Barrel on our car trips (no these are not decent). It's like a ritual after we have driven all night.

Annointed - I hate to go hopping when I don't have any extra money, so I rarely go. Are you alternating upper and lower days?

Nicole - I should try those leg conditioning drills again. I so hate floor work and I think some of it really does irritate my back. Maybe I'll put those in my next rotation. Glad Grady is recouperating nicely. It's so hard when children are sick.

Laurie - We have contemplated a G. Sheppard for our next dog, but are really afraid of the hip issues. I pulled out Tone last week and was reminded what a good workout that is.

Lea - Sorry about the upper back. Take it easy. Have fun on the hike.

Jeanette - Good job on pulling out that dvd before you did anymore. Yes, I ran yesterday. It is sort of an addiction for me. I really think that doing legs 3x per week, running and biking might have been just a little too much. The legs do look better, but it is time to cut back to 2x per week. Interesting, you have your woodstove going and a couple days ago we had our first day that it was less than 60 degrees in 80 days.

Wendy - I walk the dogs in the woods and so it is just easier to run. I'm able to turn them loose and they love it. I missed it, is the whole family going away? It would be a great expereince for the kids to learn about other cultures.

Carol - I could never have done my workouts in the afternoon when the kids were younger. There was just too much going on. How early will you hae to get up?

Sandra - I enjoy Eion for just the reason that you stated. He moves a little slower and I can focus on my form. I put a mirror in my workout area and that has really helped me to align everything. Glad you enjoyed your time outside. I so love the outdoors.

Hi Amy! Working late, and hard?

Hi to anyone I missed.

Tracy

Happy Saturday Xers!
Vacation mindset winding down quickly- DH out for last fishing expewdition and then we start getting the boat & house ready to be closed up- we're heading home early Sunday so we can spend relaxing day with pups before the "grind" starts again. I'm ready for my "routine" again- enough lounging... time to get busy!

TeddyGirl: Looks like you are going to give me a run for my money on leg workouts! Keep it up- will be nice to have lower DOMS company for awhile! Enjoy your weekend!!!!

Tracy: I so empathize with you on the feeling of "not another same w/o!" You should be so proud of your diligence the past month! What is your next mega rotation to tackle? - Funny you mentioned those weighted vests... I was looking into them the other day... I'll have to see if theres any play in the budget- I've been on a bit of a spending spree and need to just focus on what I already have.
Yesterday afternoon the arm was in extreme pain and nothing seemed to help- I started alternating ice with heat and that gave me much relief as well as some mobility today.... I did some shoulder stretches with the band I brought and that actually felt good- so I'll keep that up for a bit and ease into it... If after not lifting for a week I am still in pain then I will look into seeing a sports specialist just to make sure I dont have permanent damage- How does one market a one-arm trainer? LOL.... Thanks for all your feedback- the research on just one little body part is time consuming and overwhelmg to say the least... Its a full time job! Hope you weekend is relaxing (well as relaxed as you ever get) ! Enjoy the rain !!!!

Carole: The adjustment to exercise times can be challenging... Part of it is mental.... I spent all my life telling others & myself that I couldnt exercise as well in PM because I am such a AM person- I do believe in the natural rhythms we all have but I still think that self talk contributes to our energy and strength levels as well. I know many people who vary exercise time almost daily just because their schedules change so I think it can indeed be done. Sometimes if I have an afternoon w/o planned (my "down time") I'll have eggs for lunch and a cup of coffee just to trick my brain thats it morning... Works for me! Good luck- you'll find your perfect game!

Back with rest of personals in a bit..... XXOOXOXOXO

Good Morning,

I decided not to go to yoga this morning. I feel like doing some weighted lower body first. I might do Eoin later tonight.

Tracy: My dc aren't going with me. The boys are in school and it would be way too much for the twins. I would hate to see them get sick while there. I thought about taking eldest dd with me. I haven't decided yet. I was lurking on VF and saw a post about the Pearl Izumi running shoes ad. Did you happen to see it?

Sandra-X: Thanks for the PY review. How long do you go without sun in your part of the world? I had a feeling you'd be asking me who's going to watch my kids while I was away. Don't worry. I'm not leaving them to their own devices to fend for themselves for a month.:7 The boys are staying with their father. The girls are staying with my MIL. Baby is staying with our family friend in the State College area. Phil will be going to MIL's house on the days he works in Jersey and on the weekends. My MIL offered to help homeschool them. I'll let her take over some of the easier subjects (those with scripted teacher's manuals). Eldest dd can drill her sisters their phonograms, multi-letter phonograms and spelling rules. That way they won't have to relearn them when I get back. Eldest dd wants to dictate their spelling lists. I might let her. Aren't you glad you asked?;-)

Nicole-X: What did you buy yesterday? I love your Meez! She's doing the one of the poses I had corrected -- my elbows were too low.

TG: Let me know if you can walk normally tonight!:+

Traci: Vacation is ending already? It will be nice to see you more often before you head to CA. I'm hoping your arm heals up! Are you sure you don't want to make an appointment just in case? You can always cancel it if you start to feel better. HUGS!!!!!!!!! It sounds so painful!!!!

Well ladies, off I go to use the neti pot. My allergies are wicked today!

Ballistic Hugs to ALL
Wendy

Back with some Friday Personals~~~~~~~~~

Nicole: Your evening post cracked me up! Glad you went to bed at a decent hour and hope you woke rested. GREAT GRADY NEWS! Whew~

Sandra
Thanks for confidence boost about IL... It does suck but I do believe that its the adversity of life that makes us better people so we shall see. ~ Dont blame you one bit for sucking up Vit D! I would bottle the warmth of summer if I could. ~ Cool you found Eoin Power! Whatever keeps you limbar and centered!!! LOL

Wendy
Happy to see you are sticking with your yoga classes for awhile! If I could find a studio close by I'd do it in a heartbeat! The nearest classes are about 10 miles - not far EXCEPT that in the traffic its a 45 minute drive... That would undo all the good ! LOL ~~~~ ROFL on "I assume that means core" you crazy gal! OF COURSE it means core!- Actually the workouts I am using have a lot of core so I might have to specify certain days of week as I dont believe in working core everyday (hard that is)... Thanks for keeping me in check tho- I would EXPECT that comment from Sarge Sandra! LOL

Debra
Glad to see you had such a great day over all yesterday! Nice to do things other than "marriage" stuff I'm sure! You stay strong woman!

Jeanette
What a great Friday and weekend for you! I do see you are taking full advantage of the warmth left before you experience a season change. We so dont have seasons in Houston.... Summer.... 2-3 sporadic weeks of fall - 3-6 weeks winter then BAM its SUMMER AGAIN! LOL...... ~ Funny you mentioned DH & Pushups.... Since training I am doing a ton of pushups in my personal training PLUS with clients 3x a week- I was thinking that may have been the straw...... Interesting. Take care of that elbow- gosh injuries are so painful! Not like we cant use our body parts! I am going to go get a shoulder sling on Monday because I keep using the arm to do DUMB things just because its there! LOL

Lea
ANOTHER IL Xer??? What the heck caused this upper back pain girl???? I am so sorry!!!! Keep me posted. XXOO

Cheryl
Your wrap sounds HEAVENLY!!!! I wonder if I can fit one of those into my budget? Sounds better than Hilights!!! LOL

Amy
Working hard I imagine... Take some FUN time for yourself!!!! xxo

Laurie
COOL about your new running partner!!! No one messes with a Shephard! ROF about your maiden name- I do bet you got teased tho... Mine is Duncan and of course every Duncan Yoy Yo joke in the book was thrown at me... Maybe thats why I like cake so much tho? hmmmmmmmm

GREAT DAY TO ALL Xers.... Lets all stay HEALTHY!!!

Hi all,

Traci - So sorry that the arm is so painful. I hope that doesn't indicate a tear in tissue or something actually ripped from its attachment point:( Is there a lot of swelling? I also hope that if you do decide to go to the DR that you can find a good one. Unfortunately, good orthopedic drs seem to be hard to find and soft tissue injuries can be really difficult to heal. I sure would look up various treatment and diagnosis protocols on line, just to have an idea of what to expect. They may do an MRI? I believe that's what they do for soft tissue damage or is it a CAT scan? I've found recently, especially with upper, if I workout hard, twice a week, that is plenty. The 2-4 days in between allows the tissue to heal.

Wendy - I haven't had time this weekend to check out the posts at Video Fitness. I usually skim them every weekend to find out about new releases and get some other perspectives. I'm stuck on New Balance shoes. I had plantar fascitis several years ago and they are the only shoes that have really helped my feet and kept me from getting PF again. Ryka were terrible and didn't last either.

I don't feel like doing any of the things that I need to do. I just paid bills, now I guess I'll go deal with the mound of clothes that DH washed but failed to fold or put away.

Tracy

Hi,

I'm bored, so I updated my Avatar. That is Gunnison Canyon that we hiked down into on our vacation.

BM2 "Timesaver Cardio" Premix

Good Morning Ladies!

Yesterday was such a long day but it was so fun:) I ended up shopping with my dear friend all day. We were able to get in a little clothes shopping and groceries as well. We always enjoy spending time together as we are two peas in a pod. We had breakfast and lunch together and it was yummy:9 I wanted to come nd say HI before I started my workout:D

TracyX, Glad you are getting rain! We don't have any in our forecast but we really need it. You're getting so creative with your avatar:) Such variety! Hey, I thought you were going to run less;) My BFF is an avid runner and will run even with injuries. She is addicted. Maybe I sould try it one day. Maybe when I move to the country:) I have bill and laundry duty today as well, oh joy!

LaurieXX, sorry to hear Cameron has an ear infection:( Glad she has good owners now who will take care of it. Sounds like you'll have your work cut out for you taking her potty:p

LeaX, How was the hiking? That counts as exercise you know:)

JeanetteX, I can't believe it is cool enough there to have a fire going at night! I still leave my swamp cooler on low at night to trap the cool air for the next day. How was golf yesterday? Any excuse to not work part of the day, huh?:) How's that shin treating you? Go easy on ot you only have two;)

WendyX, I'm right there with you on the yoga chants. There are so many Christians that condemn yoga but I can't imagine not doing it! It helps my back and legs so much! I just found a DVD called Praise Moves hoping it would be a good alternative but it's a little cheesy in spots and it's more for beginner's:( How did you like the power heated yoga? I hate getting super sweaty doing yoga so I don't know if I could do that one:p I bought myself a skirt, 6 shirts, a pair of pants, some bra tops and some undies. My DF and I are a bad combo when shopping:D Very dangerous!

Anointed, Awesome eating yesterday! Are you going to do it again today? No pressure;) Another great workout today:D You are so determined!

Go Carol, Go Carol! You can do it! Getting up early isn't so bad. I prefer it that way because you get it done and get on with the rest of the day. I never workout in the afternoon because I get too tired or something always comes up.

DebraX, So glad you are making time to be with friends:) It's always nice to have a support system:)

SandraX, I'll have to rty that yoga. I love Eoin and his style. He has such a laid back personality like us Californians:) I don't really care for the serious, stuffy instructors. I am going to make your oatmeal ww bread:) I love baking and I am so ready to. I hope it will cool off soon so I can get to it:D

Traci-X, Oh, I'm sos orry your arm is giving you so much trouble:( I just ache for you. I hope total rest for it is possible for a bit to see if the injury is here to stay for a while. Maybe you should get into the doctor ASAP so you can see a sports therapist soon. Hot legs, here you come:D

Off to sweat}(

Nicole

Good morning ladies,
Today was BM2 Timsaver Cardio and then the abs from BM2. Feeling good now. The bike ride yesterday was 20 miles and I took it fairly easy as I didn't want to cause pain to my shin/ankle. It's slowly getting better. The golf game yesterday morning was really fun. Just played with my friend. He's been retired for about 5 years now and loves it. He plays golf a couple times a week with his brother and BIL. There would have been 5 in our group yesterday so 3 went one way and friend (Dave) and I golfed the front 9 by ourselves. He's perfect to go with as he's the most laid back guy in the world. His nickname at work was "Lightning". He's a good putter and has been helping me to read the green. Nice way to start my day (besides my workout of course). Wish I could work 4 hours every day! I'm loving the golf so far.

Today DH and I are going to take the Rhino out and do some sightseeing out in the woods. The "girls" really want to go, they get so excited and both of them just sit in the seat of the Rhino while DH is loading it and strapping it down on the trailer. Gosh, last time we were out, the big fire hit on Labor Day. They will have it fully contained on Monday, 2 weeks! This one cost millions and millions of dollars and was a huge fire. The devestation is awful. Here is a link to the fire and with some pictures too at the bottom. The Lucky S mine is the little ghost town that we've taken friends and family up to see recently. My daughter and SIL lost about 11 head of cattle that were on grazing permits up there. They saved most of them. Such a shame. It still hasn't been announced what started the fire.

http://www.plumasnews.com/news_story.edi?sid=5413

I've got to go now, but will get back on tonite. Have a big bike ride planned for tomorrow. Thinking we will get a big turnout as it's a beautiful ride around a local lake, with views of Mt. Lassen. We usually stop in the little tourist town of Chester, CA and have coffee and a pastry or cookies (my favorite!). Total mileage is around 40 some, which is a nice distance for most in our group.

Tracy, my DH thinks he's really doing something great by washing clothes for me. He just takes them out of the dryer and piles them up, no folding. Next load goes right on top, etc. He wonders why I'm not more appreciative of his efforts. It's not like I haven't told him.

Jeanette

Good morning,

I just finished Cardio Coach #3 (outdoor running), and Stretch Max #2. Very nice workout.

Cheers,
Sandra

Hey everyone:)

I been home long enough to make 2nd cup of coffee for today, so good. Getting ready to do MIS & abs afterwards going to call it a day, NO money No honeyx( I tell you things are tight dollar wise, may need to give up internet & cable service.

Sounds like you guys got your game faces on, nice ;-) Class was long and boring started with 4 ended with 3, this guy got mad because this year they weren't showing visuals of what to do. (((Anyhoo))) I will check back after I unwind and finish me workout.

Hello Xers,

Rotation: LGI8
Workout: PS Legs (floorwork) & BC Cardio only with 1 Min Rest between blasts.

I have finally gotten a chance to sit down. :D Oldest DD came in 4th place with an unoffical time of 17:08. So she is very happy. Youngest DD was the only one in her dance class, so she was able to get one on one treatment today. After dance we went grocery shopping and we had lunch. I'm going to take the dog for her 2nd walk of the day, and get my workout in after that.

BBL with more,

Laurie

Hi all,

I just finished MIS lower going as heavy as I could, then I put in ME and turned on the lower body split and went quite a bit lighter. I alternated lower segments with push & pull ups for a total of 285 various push ups 28 assisted wg pullups, 5 unassisted close grip pull ups then 7 assisted and 10,8,5,6 unassisted chin ups. That pretty much worked the upper body to failure. I'll probably do some yoga later.

Laurie - Tell DD congratulations on her 4th place finish That is so exciting.

Annointed - It suc&* not to have any money.......

Tracy

Tracey: I sho do, hate it when I don't have money, it really puts a damper on my day, I know it shouldn't but it do ;( Even worst me getting a part time job, just the thought of it makes me ill, sucks doesn't it. Nice workout times 2:)

Laurie: Busy day, sometimes good and sometimes not so good, It really make the weekend go by so fast, PS nice work:)

Sandra: glad you enjoyed your run, awesome:)

Nicole: BM2 minus the charely horse, bad aint I }( great job :D As far as eating, I always eat like this, I do try, but its those dog gone sweets that I am addicted to ARGH.......I'm tempted to run out to giant eagle to buy me a Pumpkin Roll ((((girl))))) it’s to die for:7 :7 :7

Tracie: ROLOL looks who's talking, your workouts are so well rounded it's ridiculous;) ;) You rock! You probably didn’t get the chances to read my post the other day, I asked how do you prepare shark meat, TG is curious. RC should be improving, huh You'll be back in the swing of things SOON:) :)

Wendy: thank you for posting, you tube:D have an ideal when they're going to be release? I see he picked his 2 favorite prizes, they are BAD A$$:p

Jeanette: you make me wish I had a bike, really :7 seem like you enjoy riding so much, you do, don't ya :9 20 long miles, let me give you the remix 20 longggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg milesssssssssssssssssssssss :+ Nice work :9

I will check back the Sun is shining see if I can get a 30 minute walk in, see ya

Hi all! Took DD for a little shopping this morning...and ended up getting a few things for myself, too...I know, surprise, surprise! I figured, though, while I still have XDH's money, I may as well spend it wisely...Ha! So I got some new fall shoes (3 gorgeous pair), a beautiful green suede jacket, some jeans, some yoga pants and a bra. Feeling much better now! LOL! Oh yeah, and a couple of summer dresses on sale for 15 dollars each...at least they were a bargain!

Then came home tried to nap but no no avail....then took DD to my mom's for her sleepover. I came home and worked out. I did BG abs first and then KPC. Nice workout. I was going to do SH shoulders after that, but was feeling a little tired (I probably need to eat) so I will wait until Monday to get my shoulders in with the standing portion of BG. Tomorrow will be my day off since I will be at the game.

No time for personals...getting ready to go out in a bit to meet my friend who I am going to the Panther's game with so that we can get the stuff we need for tailgating. Then we'll get some dinner, too....probably Mexican. Which I actually had for breakfast, too. This morning I had a kind of make your own egg taco with black beans, cheese, avocado, and sour cream...Yummo!

Okay gotta go for now...sending kisses and hugs to all you wonderful supportive ladies!

Debra: My kind of shopping :) gone with your bad self :) sounds like a wonderful evening you have plan :) Enjoy you day.

I fried some cabbage and realize I didn't have any hot sauce so I had to walk to the store to get for, I just can not eat cabbage without the sauce, crazy I know, but me crazy:+

I finished my workout strong, I started with GS push ups, I did the first 16 on me toes, am getting stronger. Then I did the remaining on my knees except for the last 6 up 2 down 2 I did them on me toes too, that's awesome for me. My goal, is to do them all on my toes, I will get there one day, lol. Then I did MIS upper & abs, I'm done for today :)

I'm even going to include my brief walk to the store as a workout, since I ended up walking 20 minutes there and 20 minutes back.

You know what guys, I deserve a bubble bath :+ ladies have a wonderful wonderful I mean wonderful evening :) I'm going to relax and call it a day. God Bless! :7 :)

Hi all,

Debra - I'm so surprised you bought shoes. I love green so the green suede jacket sounds really nice. Enjoy the game tomorrow. The weather here is beautiful, I hope it is down there too.

Annointed - I am so surprised that with all of that strength training you cannot do more push ups. I think that they are the best upper body exercise EVER! If I am missing an ingredient I usually just do without. I'm just too lazy to go to the store for one thing. I might if I could walk.

I'm waiting for the fish to cook so we can eat. Our meals are getting later and later, then the time will change, and it will be dark at 5 and the evenings will seem to last forever.

Tracy

Hi all,
Finally on here and will post personals in a bit. Our plans originally for today were that DH would go to Reno to the air races and I would stay here and babysit the grandkids. Neither one happened for one reason or other so DH and I got to spend the afternoon out in the woods, driving around and relaxing. We found all kinds of wood that is easy to get to and the right size. Just waiting for the woods to open for woodcutting. Also found a place that I think we will camp at next weekend. It's chilly in the trailer during cooler weather, but that new generator should help :7 .

Wendy, you are so good to be getting into yoga. I may need to see if they have a class here in town this winter. Maybe there will be neck stretches and scalp massages? Your Thailand trip sounds wonderful!!! My folks went to the Azores last year for 3 weeks and had a great time. I wish I could afford to send them again, and maybe even go with them. Oh yeah, on the pedals, I think they get screwed on in reverse so that they don't unwind when pedaling (if that makes sense). I've never done it myself, but I remember somebody else mentioning it.

Anointed, your meals always sound so good. Bet you are a great cook. Sweets have been getting to me big time lately. I was awful with the kettle chips today during our outing and then stopped at TCBY for a frozen yogurt with some toppings. Bad girl! What class did you have this morning? Not sure I caught that. What is a pumpkin roll? I have a recipe that we make around the holidays that's called Pumpkin Roll. Has bad stuff in it so I'll spare you. I do love riding. This time of year is really nice. Hoping for a fantastic group ride tomorrow. I love hot sauce too, especially on potato salad.

Debra, I did the step portion of BM2 today also. It was the cardio timesaver for 43 minutes. Just right. I like the blasts in this one. The egg taco sounds yummy. You don't want to know what I had today. Let's just skip that part. New stuff with your XDH's $$$ huh? I don't think my XDH (if I had one) would allow it. He'd cut me off right away! Enjoy!!! Have a great time at the Panther's game too! What kind of stuff are you going to prepare for the tailgate party?

Sandra, my grandkids are 4 and 11 (I think, bad me). Plans changed and my babysitting services were no longer needed today. The hooky golf game was fantastic! Loved it. Of course there were some frustrating moments too, but I ended up on the last hole with a 4 stroke on a par 3 so I was happy with that. What is Royal Icing? Can't wait to see the cake!!!

Tracy, hope you got a good soaking of rain. We desperately need it here. So glad your running yesterday left you feeling good. Yes, I made a fire tonite, though we probably didn't need it. It's not that cold outside, but I just like seeing the flames. However, it's getting too toasty in here right now. Love your new Avatar picture. I'm dreading the time change.

Traci, so sorry about your shoulder hurting you so much. I just picked up some Icy/Hot creme and put it on my elbow (inner and outer) and my shin/ankle area. Both feel good right now. I need to find some exercises to strengthen my arms in the elbow area. I think what got it was when I was learning (still am learning) to swing my golf club, I contacted the ground hard a few times, definitely sending a jolt to my elbow area. If you have any hints or websites, let me know. When I have any pain to it is grabbing a gallon milk jug out from the refrigerator. When it is close in to me, no problem, but with my arm extended out, that's when I feel it. How long will you be at home before your vacation to Bakersfield? I always think of Buck Owens when I say Bakersfield.

Nicole, sounds like you had a wonderful day yesterday with your friend. Golfing was wonderful yesterday. Loved the whole experience of being out, thinking, relaxing, basking in the surroundings. Dumb me, I made a fire tonite in the woodstove (love to see the flames), but we really didn't need one and now I'll probably have to open the door to cool off. Or turn on the swamp cooler. DH will think I've flipped.

Laurie, how is Cameron doing? Our German Shorthair has an ear problem every 3 months or so. When she does, I have to put in a cleansing solution and drying solution with some ointment to boot. Clears it up right away. Her ear canal is just constructed so that moisture stays inside and becomes infected. Did you post the Look Great In Eight rotation? Did I miss it? Bet both daughters were very happy today. Always nice to get individual attention in a class.

Swifty, Amy, how are you girls today? Busy I bet.

Okay, all caught up now.

Jeanette
