Good afternoon!
This morning, I started out with the HST warm up & all cardio premix, followed by PUB, abs first. I was finally able to match Cathe in weights again so I'm really happy about that. I'm still pumped from the Dragon Boat Races & of course, it's been the talk of the office today too. I wish we could do it again this weekend! The best part is that the event raised over $91,000 for the Children's Hospital & that's what it was all about.
I forgot to give y'all an update about my FIL when I posted yesterday so here goes. We went to visit him yesterday & he seems to be doing okay. Not really better but okay. He sleeps a lot but he can get up & walk to the bathroom by himself. He's also been moved out of CCU but now they're treating him for MRSA Syndrome, a rare form of staph that's antibiotic resistant, so he's being given a very strong medicine intravenously that's not only terrible for the kidneys & liver, it's also well known as a "last resort drug". He's not quarantined, which seems strange if he really does have a truly infectuous disease & since we haven't talked to the doctors directly, we don't really know what his diagnosis or prognosis is. I'm a little uncomfortable with the information we've received (or not received) from my MIL & the idea that he's being given such a strong medication so my DH is planning to request a meeting with the doctors soon. My DH also went to visit him today & said he seemed to be doing okay.
Lora - I always think the same thing when Sunday evening hits. It's like the weeks crawls by but the weekend flies - LOL! Looking forward to hearing how your second week is going. Great workout this morning!
Yve - I've never taken a live pilates class. The yoga studio I've been to before does offer some pilates classes but when I have the opportunity to go, I always take yoga. I hope you like the new yoga studio. Please check back & let us know how it goes.
Christine - I usually end up a little sore from a live yoga class for some reason. Maybe the instructor has us hold the poses longer or something? Great job on your 8 mile run! I'm not much of a cardio fan but I do enjoy my Cathe's & I recently started doing Cardio Coaches too & I love them! Who would have thought that an audio program would make me love my treadmill? LOL! In fact, I did Vol. 4 when I got back from the boat races on Saturday.
Jen - Hope you're having a good day & hope you get a chance to check in later. You asked some questions about the dragon boat festival yesterday so I'll try my best to answer them here. The boats look like really long canoes & they are decorated with a dragon head on the front & a tail on the back. The boats hold 20 rowers, a drummer on the front (facing the rowers), & a coach on the back. All of the boats are pretty much the same & you just get whichever one is available when it's your time to race. I imagine that the pros have their own, though. Funny you should ask about food because there were bagels, muffins, danishes, mini-quiches, bananas, & apples for breakfast. I ended up eating most of a bagel & then half of a cheese & egg quiche a little later. Then, they cooked out for lunch & had cookies & homemade brownies. I think I had my fill of sweets over the weekend. I don't know if there is anything online about the event but I plan to upload some photos to my picuretrail & then I'll see if I can post one here. If not, maybe I can just make it my avatar for awhile.
No yoga for me yet but I plan to fit some in tomorrow evening since my DH has a meeting to attend & I hope to fit more in later this week, maybe Friday depending on how my workouts go.
Well, I better go. I have tons to do & I'm totally unmotivated today for some reason. I know I'll feel better if I get something - anything - done, though, so I better go for now. I'll try to check back in later if I get a chance.
