STS Body Rockers - Week of November 13th

Hi there everyone,

Hope you all are having a great weekend! This a.m. I did TBT Lower Body and followed up with Yoga Max (hadn't done that one yet). Great workouts both - I really had Doms from TBT LB last time due to those dixie cups I think, I suspect it will be the same this time:eek: Little bit of upper body Doms from TBT UB yesterday, but not as bad as last time. I really enjoyed Yoga max too:) Today we are doing an early Thanksgiving - so had to get some good exercise in to minimize the damage.

Hi Wiggie - Great job on Disc 15 and TB! I know what you mean about TB, it goes fast doesn't it? Great workout! Congratulations on the wt loss too! That's awesome!

I'm doing a STS/LIS rotation. This is my first time thru STS, so please overlook my excitement at just discoverling STS.

My STS workout days are Friday, Sunday and Tuesday. My LIS days are going to be scheduled on the other days.

So far I've done:
Day 1: STS Chest, Biceps & Shoulders
Day 2: LIS Cardio Supersets (Floor Drills)
Day 3: STS Legs minus Bonus Legs

I kept the Bonus Legs for Wednesday.

Haven't checked in for a while, so a quick update:

Wed, I was still trying to avoid the migraine, so decided not to do any weights, again :confused:. Instead did KCM-TLC Boxing. Thursday, I went ahead and dove in to Disc 13 (chest), and then Disc 15 (back) on Friday. So that caught me up on my STS wo's for the week, and then I took a MUCH needed, ultra DOMS - induced, rest yesterday. I upped my weights like crazy, and completely FRIED my upper body on those back to back workouts. Um, note to self: never again!!! :eek: By the time Fri night rolled around, I could barely drive! Going to bed, I couldn't roll over on my side, due to pec DOMS. Sat morning, I couldn't even pick up my cell phone for sore FOREARMS :rolleyes: . What kinda craziness?! OMG. I haven't had this kinda soreness in a while. Whatever weights I used, will probably NOT go up next week, lol. This is insanity, some people just take it too far :eek:

*sigh* And on top of that, I still have to fulfill my LIS-LIC vow to Wendy :confused: , been stalling a bit on that one......

Lesia: Welcome to the group!!!!!!! Don't worry, I still can't contain my excitement over the series, either :p (and I'm starting to lose count of what round I'm on now... :confused: 3rd? maybe 4th?....idk, lol) What I do know is that you're gonna LOVE IT! :eek:

Erin: Hope you're enjoying these final moments of rest week. :D Let us know what you decide on P90x. I've heard some good stuff about it. My SIL was doing it, a couple of months ago, but I think she stopped (IDK why). I was waiting to see how she liked it, but she's not much help (not really the type to stick w/stuff anyway). DH was thinking of purchasing it, but I'm not sure if he still wants it now that he started STS instead (he started at same time as his sis started P90, and they were supposed to compare notes, but she quit on him, and he's on his last week of STS, and ready to do it again :rolleyes: ) Hopefully you'll get it for Christmas, and then you'll have a new rotation to dive right into after STS, while you're on a roll. That'll give you half a year of consistent workout rotations under your belt, and you'll be unstoppable..... ;)


Wiggie: that's so great!!!! :eek: :D another 2 lbs?! Yay to heavy lifting! (coming from the woman who can't even lift the laptop she's typing on :confused: ) We're in this together ;) , bring on week 2 of M2!!! :eek:

Kris: You are getting in some good stuff over there ;). I'm jealous :eek:. I still haven't done Athletic Training. I'm sure I'll like it, but I just couldn't swing it last week w/headache madness. I'm hoping to get it in this Wed, though. We'll see, depends on where the DOMS are from the previous days wo. I think I'll be doing Chest the day before, so I may have to skip on the pushup stuff, or do the leg cardio premix...

Wendy: Ummmmmm :eek: I'll have to report back to you later :p . I suppose whenever I quit stalling on here, I can come back and look you straight in the eye w/o lying :cool: Hope you didn't lose it ALL at the casino's :confused: , but glad you had fun :)

Terina: Good job pushing through on Thurs, even when you weren't feeling it. I think those are the days that count the most ;) . As for the eating... :confused: isn't that the one that stumps us all? LOL Are you on WW, too? I know all of us on here are keeping tabs one way or another (either WW or MFP), lol, I just have a hard time keeping it straight. I think if we took a poll, it just might be those weekends eats that kill us :eek:

kiki I already told Dh thats what i want for christmas lol I heard good things and bad. One thing is that he can be anyoing during the work outs. I am soo spoiled with Cathe, any time she says something..it motivates me;) There is a girl at work who was doing it with her hubby. But am sure she quit, i feel kind of weird asking to borrow. I Do so well when i have my stuff planned out which is why i like the idea of p90x. How is Meso 2 going? Hows the head...mine bothered me this weekend and i thought of u:(

So my orginal plan was to start meso 2 on Sunday but ended up with a nasty headache and just slept! I was gonna head out to spin this am but looked at the calander and it just wont work! I need a good day or two off after legs days. Soo change of plans gonna start meso 2 today:p No worries maybe i will not do spin class this meso?? maybe some hiit and abs and some stair master ... thats the plan=)))))) Ok running off to drop the kiddies and food shop!
 
Good morning gang!

Sorry I haven't checked in for a while, my laptop bit the dust over the weekend, it is in the shop, the data being retreived from the hard-drive and transferred to a shiny new laptop with a generously large HD :) My old HD was packed to the max. I added Apple TV to the bill for Christmas just for fun too.

I did throw down the Gauntlet on Saturday- I just wasn't into it- I suffered through the first 4 intervals before nausea set in and I zipped ahead to the stretch. All morning I put it off, was feeling quite tired that day, and I'm sorry to say the Gauntlet defeated me- I did however get a respectable 45 minute workout in- no shame there.

Sunday was a wierd day- lots of stress eating, not sure what's up with that- I'm actually excited about the holidays this year.

Rectified myself with spinning this morning- hit the high point of my HR and felt amazing afterwards. I think spinning gets my HR higher than anything else that I've done- I don't worry about tripping on pavement, cars, moving furniture, tripping on the step- etc so it allows me to go for it full speed ahead- what a rush!

Sunday's workouts were TBT lower body, HIIT 20 & Athletic Training. HIIT 20 wasn't planned, my daughter came by & wanted to workout with me. Today's workout will be M2D16

Kiki, hope your soreness is easing up, I have never been that sore!!

Happy Morning (not really, it's Monday for crying out loud). :D

Let's see...when did I last check-in? Friday? Okay, we'll start from there. Saturday I rested (ahhhh), Sunday I did Slide and Glide (eh), and today I did Low Impact Challenge (fun). The low impact series is working my legs like crazy, but that's a good thing right?

Lesia: Welcome to the group! We are so happy to have you! I'm currently in between STS rotations but plan on starting my second round in January. Enjoy STS!

Kris: Great workouts this past weekend! How was your early Thanksgiving dinner? Lots of yummy eats? Can you believe I didn't watch football AT ALL yesterday? Crazy right?!?! After Ohio State and UK's awful loses on Saturday I was in a football rut yesterday. :mad: I'm sure i'll be out of it by the time Sunday rolls around. :p

Kiki: WTG on the LIS-LIC challenge!! How's the upper body feeling? DOMS gone yet? Hearing how bad the DOMS were from 2 STS upper body workouts back to back has completely obliterated any chance of me doing STS double time. ;)

Erin: Did you start Meso 2 today? If so, what did you think? Good decision to rest instead of pushing through Meso 2 when you weren't feeling 100%.

Bridget: Awww so sorry to hear about your laptop. :mad: That really sucks. BUT I guess the silver lining is getting a new laptop right? ;) Great job giving Gauntlet a try. It is crazy tough; 45 minutes of it is a killer workout so be very proud of yourself!

Wiggie: TBT LB AND Athletic Training AND Hiit?!!?!? :eek: :eek: :eek: We are going to start calling you "Super Cathlete." :p Great job!!!

Wendy: Did you have a nice time at the post office? :D ;) So what did you think of TB? Sorry I missed out this weekend BUT I promise to give it a go this weekend. :D Any DOMS today? ;) I actually think breaking it up is a great idea!

Morning.

So after killer work outs this weekend I fell flat on my face this morning and overslept so I killed the awesome momentum. :eek::(
Tomorrow I intend to pick it back up with some BR though!!!!

Surprisingly the only thing that's really sore on me are my biceps still. Truly amazed nothing else hurts! :eek:

Wiggie:: So you did THREE work outs on Sunday? :eek: You are my hero! ;) Gotta try lower body tri sets soon! Excited b/c of how much I adore upper!

Bridget:: Sorry about the laptop and the stress eating but yay for a great spin class!:)

Today I did AT and LUV IT!!!! again it was a tuffy. My legs were burning just from the beginning and I had to lower my step to 6" then to 8 =0 and I used the purple resistance band =)

Sat no workout I had "Doms" =)
Sunday also no workout it was just a busy day.

Day 4 of STS/LIS = Athletic Training through Triceps. I used 3 & 5 pounds to get the cardio effect since I'm doing STS. By the end of the triceps, I was dripping sweat.

STS tomorrow! Upper Body

I'm really liking this rotation I've planned out. Has anyone thought of blending AT step drill training with Low Impact Challenge Step drills? Just a thought. I haven't seen it listed yet.

Good Morning Ladies.

Well I ended up going home last night and doing a BR after dinner....it was more for stress release and to take my mind off my problems for a bit then anything else. :(

It was a good work out called Six Pack Abs 2011 (18 mins)...Very heavy on the leg work and not a single actual abdominal move in the work out! LOL...BODYROCK.tv | Fitness Advice, Workout Videos, Health & Fitness | Bodyrock.tv

This morning I am leaning towards Cardio Super Sets. I want to practice Low Impact Challenge but that's longer so better left for a weekend I think when I have more time-I'll also be more awake for it too! ;)

ETA:: Work out is done-Cardio Supersets Bonus Step only. 30 minutes with w/u and c/d. Nice little work out!

Hello ladies!

Yesterday was D17 (legs), and today will be D16 (CST). The next two days will be some sort of cardio/LIS wo probably, but I haven't decided which yet. I'm still thinking maybe AT, but I'm waiting to see how I feel after today's wo (since there are some pushup issues in many of the wo's, lol - but I don't know if it's enough to make or break me ;) )

Terina: Lucky you, getting to live in such a beautiful place ;) Your glowing review of AT just may push me over the edge for what wo I'm gonna do tomorrow, hopefully the DOMS won't be as crazy as last week, and I'll actually be able to do it, lol.

Wendy: That's cool that you got your BR in after-all, last nite. Not necessarily the reason, but I suppose it's better than stress eating, right? :confused: Or...did you do that too? :eek: LIS was OK. I guess, lol. I was able to keep up until she threw out that crazy combo #4 :rolleyes: . So, I wouldn't say that I'd be opposed to doing it again....but I wouldn't say that I'd be for it either, :p

Lesia: You did AT, too? :confused: Y'all are really making me wanna do it. I haven't even popped that one in yet, so I don't know for sure how it fits w/ my wo's. I get crazy DOMS from STS, so I really like to go light on the muscles worked the next day. Let me know how your upper body feels during today's wo since doing AT yesterday. Are there certain muscles you feel more than others? I'm doing chest today, and back on fri, so I guess I'm wondering if it'd be best to do it the day before, or the day after my upper body work?

Katie: Yeah, the LIS wo's work my legs like crazy, too, that's why I have to space them out so much, I feel like I'm working legs every other day, lol. On the flip side of that though, last night, DH was like ,"your legs are frikkin amazing!" :cool: :eek: :eek: LOL (Don't worry woman, I was wearing clothes :rolleyes: ....how the heck he thought they were amazing THROUGH the clothes boggles my mind... :confused: )

Wiggie: yes the DOMS has finally ceased :D .....just in time for me to do the wo that made them crazy again :eek: . I hope it's not that crazy this time. I will NOT be upping my weights, lol. I think I've officially maxed out....for now ;)

Bridget: Hope your laptop situation gets straightened out soon. We have some kinda crazy virus on our home network right now, that's worked it's way into my PC and DS's laptop. So I feel your pain....

Erin: So my DH calls my SIL last night to discuss some Thanksgiving plans or whatever, and she's all "oh I couldn't answer your call, cuz I was @ the gym", and he was like "what? when did you join the gym? I thought you were doing p90x?" she told him that she got bored w/it, quit and joined the gym :rolleyes: (she's not one to stick w/stuff so this didn't surprise me, lol). Then she asked him did he want it? :confused: To which he replied, "no, I'm cool w/this chick that Kiki works out to, remember the one that she went to Disney to workout w/?" I'm in the background, like "HELLO!!! She wants to GIVE it to you!! TAKE IT!" :mad: He's all, "why? I like STS, I don't wanna do p90 anymore" :rolleyes: He just didn't get it (...OR, maybe he's seen my prison, :eek: )..... Anyway, it made me think of you :p

Kiki:: I have not been stress eating at all. I haven't been eating enough coz I feel like I wanna throw up quite often!:( I lost a few extra pounds a couple of weeks ago when things were really bad that I'm working to put back on now!! :eek: Yeah-combo 4 of LIS is NUTS! ITA!

This morning's workout was AfterBurn. I must admit I am proud of myself. I'm suffering from sore wrists, sore legs, high stress, and lack of sleep so I made a deal with myself this morning: I would still workout, but I didn't have to give it my all. I ho-hummed through the first round or two but then Cathe said "train like a warrior" and my competitive instincts kicked in and I kicked butt! I had to add 1 extra rest (during those crazy spider plank things) and I did 1/4 of the stagger push-ups on my knees (the rest on my toes) but other than that I matched Cathe weight for weight, rep for rep. It took me a few minutes to peel myself up off the floor at the end, but overall i'd say it was a success! :)

Wendy: What's up with us posting at the same time lately? Great minds thinking alike? :p Great job getting in your BR workout yesterday evening! What did you think of the bonus Cardio SuperSets routine? I thought it was interesting! No worries about the post office. There's no rush of course. :)

Terina: Great job with AT! I love that one. :) It might be my fav of the series. Enjoy that beautiful Hawaii sunshine.

Lesia: Did someone forget to tell us there was an AT party yesterday? :p I love your idea of combining AT step drills with LIC step drills! I'm off to the workout manager to add that to my calendar. :)

Kiki: YES, definitely try AT. SOON! It is that good! It is different and fun (in a non-step way) and sweat inducing. Did I mention that I love the workout? In case you couldn't tell. :D :p Awww your DH's comment rocks!! What a sweetie.

Terina/B] hey hows the newbie doing? Some times...its better to do a little cardio with DOMS. It helps break up the latic acid which cause that sorness=) keep on trucking chicky;)
Ok so ran to spin this am thinking i could get into this class..well i was kicked out. Stupid reservation policy.. but i was happy to go thinking i had my cathe cycle max...nope:( forgot to up load it to my phone. oh well plan c ...stairmaster x 40 mins and did stablity ball abs:cool: well aunt flow showed up this am...explains my weekend headache! So happy we are making bision burgers for dinner tonight! Need more iron this week. I try to eat red meat only once a week. MAde clean eats beef stew which i loved had that last night! Now i love love love sts..what i am gonna do when its over? IT makes me sad lol My shoulders and chest are a talking to me this am. I swear i see my arms look like they have some defintion in them. I see changes ladies...love it! Bought another pair of jeans cause the 8 and the 6 are to baggy. They are stretch but hey its a 4!!!!!! My MIL said i look skinny lol she always asking for me to help her loose weight. But I only make suggestions cause it falls on def ears. HEr ideas of healthy eating are not one I can change! I try to get her to go to ww but she didnt do it. So I wont waste my breath. She has a wedding and want to loose the weight to get in adress. ANd that what Tony horton had said,.....u have to exercise for the RIGHT REASONS! other wise ur not gonna show up! ITs sooo true.... ladies do it cause u want a good quilty of life and a bonus of fitting in a size 4:p

Erin:: Oh the work out definitely helped me clear my head a bit AND made me feel great physically as well ofcourse. :) Sorry you got kicked out of spin. I used to be a gym member and took some spin classes and they had the same policy. I think it's pretty common.

Katie:: I need to tackle AB in full but I'm askeered. :eek: I think I have LIC and TB on tap for this weekend but I may have to change that and face my fears! :p Yep, great minds sure do think alike! :) I really enjoyed the bonus step routine in CSS. I thought it was going to be an actual short step routine so I was surprised with what it was but it worked! I was happy with it!
