I hope the rain is done. Yesterday was a soggy mess! I spose I shouldn't complain. Gayle are ya still dealing with ice?

I'll start my day of with the back and bicep work from PS and BM2. Hopefully, tomorrow I'll have a little doms.:)

Good Morning Everyone !:D

Today I planned on Upperbody, but I have a nasty cold & cough. Insomnia has struck again also & I've been up most of the night, so I might take a rest day.

Someone asked about grandkids.....(ellie??) My daughter just had her second child (both boys) 3 weeks ago. He is so precious !!!:D I can't get enough of him. I babysat all day yesterday for him and his brother who will be 3 on the 16th.He is a bundle of energy and joy !!! Such a sense of humor- we "get " eachother;) and I love spending time with him. My dd also has a stepson who is 6, so he was at school, but he is a sweetie too.
My son also has a son (a year old), so we have 4 grandsons !!!

We had snow all day yesterday and they are saying more today. School closings are up on the screen, so I am checking for dd's. She'd love to have the day off !;)

It's Thursday which means my scheduled rest day but I'm still going to do something may be my 200 kettlebell swings or maybe Squeeze Stronger (portions of it) Just not sure yet.

Phyllis we had rain but very high intense winds yesterday - if I looked outside I may have been able to see Dorothy, her dog and the wicked neighbor on the bicycle.

Deanie have a great time with those ropes! You're making me wish I had a place to put some ropes here to play with.

Back again!:)

Finished RGW! interesting workout, so different from traditional cardio. I followed the dvd and learned the moves and did them, then stuck in my Santa Monica dvd and did 2 rope sections. It gets your heart rate up, but since you stop in between moves you get a chance to catch your breath. I like it! I'm not usually one for change, but this was fun! Then I tacked on a kb workout:
10 swings/10 pushups
9 swings/9 pushups
etc....
I used the 30# kettlebell.

Phyllis~ Love PS! I am sure you will have DOMS tomorrow. Personally, I like PS better than GS, but I think I am in the minority with that:p

Becky~ Sounds like you had a wonderful day yesterday! Enjoy your rest day, sounds like you need it.

Vilma~ enjoy your rest day or workout;) how are you loving those 200 swings???

Ellie, I still have trouble with HIS too. I think I have it down. Then I don't do the wo for awhile and when I do pull it out, I have to relearn the routine. I guess the answer would be to do it more often. I hope you didn't hurt yourself?
 
Hey guys. SUPER fast post for me. I overslept. On purpose, sort of! lol SO and I were up pretty late, working on my main PC (I have a main PC and my laptop and other PC are networked to this one, and we got a virus last week sometime). We just rewrote everything on the PC and now it's fresh and new again. LOVE IT. But that meant I was sooooooooo tired this morning. So I'm making today a rest day.

I got up way too late, though, and now I'm rushing around.

Gotta scoot!

Good morning everyone! I'm up, I slept enough, and I can't wait to do Push Pull this morning! Not doing workouts the past couple of days has been tough on me!

I'll do personals tonight, but wanted to check in with Karin first. I don't know if you'll look at the post I made last night, so here goes...are you doing okay? Are you affected by the fire? I saw the smoke on the ridges last night on my way home from work and was so surprised to find out how far south it was. I thought it was west of Berthoud or Longmont. The news talks about certain roads in Boulder and I'm not familiar with any of them (I rarely go there) but it sounds like maybe it's a little north of town?

Snowing here,,,still! We have a good 3 inches, and it is still coming down, lightly though.

Today was GS CT and a 20 minute walk - I did CT, then I did 20 minutes of Marcus' Twirl ( kudos to Heather..) and 5 minutes of crunches.

Hi all. I did Core Max #2 last night and some stretching. Back on the bike for me tonight.

The exciting news from this region of the country are the two huge wildfires burning just north of Boulder. When I was coming home on the bus last night, the whole bottom part of the mountain was red with flames. Scary stuff. Here's the story from the Denver Post. I can't believe 11,000 homes were evacuated. I am so glad that we weren't effected by it.

Last night my eating plan went a little bit off course. My mom sent us a package with our Christmas gifts that we couldn't fit in our suitcase and in it were Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter filled candies. I had four of them :eek: but still came in under my daily calorie allowance.

The meal plan for today is the same as yesterday.

Jill - thanks for thinking of me :). The fire is in North Boulder so it hasn't effected me at all. Coming home on the bus last night towards Boulder it looked like the whole mountain was on fire. The winds were so bad yesterday too. They have evacuated 11,000 homes. I hope that they get it under control soon. We could smell the smoke from the fire at the bus stop this morning. Have fun with PP. I love that workout, short and sweet.
 
Back again .

I ended up doing BM2 upperbody. Short & sweet. All I could handle today with a cold & no sleep.

Hey Peeps:

Just wondering if anyone else doing their 1 rep max are having any issues with declining strength. I'm lifting as heavy as possible and many times hitting failure before 10 reps and getting major DOMS. Yesterday I did another round of tests and had to do overhead press again (standing vs sitting). I used 25#s on Monday and got in 10 reps but yesterday I could only do 6:confused: It makes me wonder how accurate this testing is going to be.

Phyllis: PS is an oldie but goodie. Here's to DOMS:eek:

Deanie: Great workout. I was curious about those ropes.

Gayle: I know how those computer things can keep you busy for hours. Do you have your Wii hooked up to your wireless network? It is really fun when you can play a game against other people from all over the world.

JJ - I didn't order STS so I am not doing the 1RM testing. I hope that someone chimes in with their experience to help you out. That is true that dark chocolate and PB are good for me :p. The dark chocolate has antioxidants and the PB has protein!!

No workout day number two, thanks to a sleeping Houdini in the living room. :)

Ellie--I'm getting better at HIS--just the last combo is tripping me up now. But it took FOREVER for me to learn it!!! Oh! Have been shredding junk mail as it's been received over the trash can this week and hanging up coats when I get home from work. Also have started a January financial log to see where the money is going and I transfered one balance to a 2.9 percent interest credit card (for one year, then permanent 9.99 percent interest, much better than the 18 percent interest I was paying!) Keep the tips coming, they are working!!

Can I say the log really makes me think twice about spending on non-necessities? Because if I buy it, I have to pay cash and log it, and that's a reality check for me. So THANK YOU ELLIE!!!!!!!!!!

Vilma--What is Squeeze Stronger? Can you elaborate when you come back later? :)

JJ--I'm with Karin--I didn't get STS either but hopefully someone here can compare the testing...To be honest, I was so overwhelmed by the testing portion, the number of DVDs, and the no premix option that I cancelled my order! And let's be real--adding 47 (or whatever number it was) DVDs to my house would probably qualify me the show Clean House. And I couldn't bear for Niecy to call me a hot mess!!!!!!!!!!

Karin--I'm so glad you are OK! That must have been so scary to see! I am getting the agave nectar at lunch (when you described the bottle I remembered seeing it at the grocery store near my office.) Here's my menu today:

Oatmeal with flax seeds, dried cranberries, Pumpkin Spice Coffee-Mate
Coffee with Carmel Apple Coffee-Mate
(Seriously, I should do PR for Coffee-Mate.)

Pan grilled chicken breast (marinated in olive oil, lemon juice, pino grigio vinegar and herbs de provance)
Orzo with lemon and cilantro, steamed broccoli
skim milk
