No Sweets Week of Nov 25th

I am back in town now. I ate plenty. I don't feel bad about it because it was the holidays and I had so much fun seeing family and friends. I enjoyed some delicious desserts. I wouldn't say that I totally over ate, but I didn't worry about what I ate. It was so nice being off work for a few days.

Sounds like we all had a nice holiday weekend. I ate more than usual, but I definitely ate less than previous years and I made healthier choices so I don't feel guilty at all. Oh my gosh I went to the mall on Saturday. Wow really bad idea. I have to go back because I couldn't exchange the items I brought. It was crazy out there. Yesterday I didn't exercise, but today I did LM step premix + PS: BBA. Great workout.

Well the holiday break is over so tomorrow is back to business as usual. Have a nice Monday and rest of the week. :)

Glad to hear that everyone had an enjoyable Thanksgiving Holiday. As Rose just said, it is "back to business as usual". That could mean two things===back to work---and---back to good eating habits. We will not gain the normal 7 pounds between Thanksgiving and New Years that people gain.

I just finished Rhythmic Step combo's 1 and 2 for a 35 minute workout. Short, but enjoyable.

Affirm and Rose, you are so right. It is back to business!!! Eating is back on track today. Did have a small square of ghiradelli dark chocolate :p Of course that if full of antioxidants and good for you :7

I did heavy upper body and am excited to say that I am almost ready to increase my bench from 75 # I did 3 sets of 6 and 1 set of 5. My goal is to do 4 sets of 6 and I can increase. Now I have my donut plate mates so I can increase by 2.5 pounds. I know it doesn't sound like too much, but believe me it is

Rose, you crazy girl. Going shopping on the holiday weekend  :+

Affirm, I love doing short fun cardio! Somedays that is just what ya need!!

lol! Back to business as usual definitely means the two things you mentioned Affirm. :) I am determined to eat extra clean at least for the last few days of November. I'm doing MIS tomorrow (haven't done that one in a few years) and in the past when I did MIS I also alternated with MIC, but MIC is too high impact for me at the moment so today I did KPC (no abs) + KM (leg conditioning drills and stretch) as my MIC substitute. I modified the impact on some moves and I just didn't jump as high or I did medium impact drills instead of high and it worked.

Affirm - It is no secret that I love short cardios and I do them often. They usually give me tons of energy. I have RS on VHS, but it's very worn out. I will get the DVD in the future. The important thing is working out. A short workout is always better than nothing at all.

Catherine - I've always wanted plate mates but they're very hard to find over here. Mmm dark chocolate. I definitely have to stay away from it. My personal favorite is Hershey's special dark.

Hey ladies!! Eating has been good. Didn't even have any dark chocolate :9 I did IM2 thru interval 8 and then did C&W abs. I enjoyed it. Hadn't done IM2 in a while.

Life is gonna get real busy here with the holidays. I have lots of "social" functions to go to. Hopefully, I can stay on track!!
BTW- I really dislike "social functions" LOL!!!

Hello ladies. My day started of on a difficult note. My sister calls me around 5ish am and says she'd been having chest pain for about an hour. Like something sitting on her chest. Of course I tell her to go to the ER. So I started my day off in the ER and then off to work. DS is ok. Her heart checked out so far. Will probably get a stress test.

Anyway. I did manages PS legs standing only and chinups. Now I am ready for bed. Oh and still eating clean ;)

Hope you all are doing ok.

Fitfairy, I am glad your sister is okay.

Eating has been good this week. I did have a fun size kit kat(left over from Halloween) yesterday. However, eating is going well overall. I am getting in those veggies and fruits. I just finished first half of IMAX 2.

Enjoy the rest of your week.

Hey ladies. I wasn't able to check-in for a couple of days because I've been busy. I'm glad to hear your sister is okay Catherine. I've been really stressed out lately with my job searches and checking my emails every day hoping for an interview. Nothing has happened yet and it's really stressful. Some days are better than others. The only thing I did different this week was to exercise no matter how stressed out I was. These past few days I've done MIS, a short cardio (LM warm -up + LM blasts premix), and I went to a 70 min power yoga class yesterday. Today is my rest day and I definitely feel like I can take on the world. Endorphins I guess.

Affirm - A kit kat is nothing! Good job for eating your fruits and veggies. I should add more of those to my meals.

Catherine - Panic attacks are horrible and in the past when I got them I thought I had a heart condition, but learned I suffer from generalized anxiety disorder, found a great psychiatrist (open minded, believes in natural remedies, and doesn't believe that certain patients should be in medication forever) and she changed my life. I'm not saying your sister has it because everybody is different, but if she feels that she can no longer control stress on her own then maybe she needs to see a professional to help her. I know your sister is going through a hard time, but let her know that circumstances always change for everybody. Some people that are going through a tough time now won't be like that in a couple of years and unfortunately some that are doing well won't be well in a couple of years. That's why we should always be prepared for *everything* and when things don't go well we have to keep our faith and hope that things will change for us, if not now, maybe a year from now. When things are not going the way we want to it seems that we're the only ones and that time is our enemy. We also see people around us that are doing so well and we wonder if things are going to get better for us and when. It's very depressing. What I do is try not to think about that and I also try not to stay paralized in my life. Right now is the job thing so I use my lunch break to search for jobs and send resumes, I exercise because it helps me with stress, and I do things to help me relax like watching a funny movie. Patience is the key. She's very lucky to have you.

Take good care of yourselves ladies. I'm going to try and go to the mall again either tomorrow or on Sunday. Oh my!

Hello everyone ! I mostly post on the OPEN DISCUSSION FORUM.

Just wanted to know the purpose of this thread ! Sounds challenging !

Hello RGS. This thread started as a 30 day challenge to eat no sweets at the beginning of this year, IIRC. And we just modified it and continued on all of this year. We basically are comitted to eating clean (well, doing our best) and supporting each other. We also talk about our workouts and other life issues at times. We are a small group and easy to keep up with. We don't require detailed eating logs :+ Come join the fun if you want!!!

Hey there! I was about to log out and I saw your post. I'll try to make it brief. We started this little group in January. Some people have come and gone, but Affirm, fit_fairy and I have been here since then. It's called No sweets because we're all sugar addicts and the check-in helps us to stay in track with our diets. We *try* to stay away from sugar, but when we cheat we do it in moderation and we *always* post about it. We also post about our workouts since we're all trying to manage work and home and it's very hard sometimes to find time to exercise. We also post about other things as well. :p This check-in helps me to stay on track with both diet and exercise. There are days when I'm not in the mood to exercise and I just do it anyway because I know I don't like to post that I skipped a workout and when I don't eat well I post about it and it helps me to get back on track the next day. I've been able to maintain my weight loss for almost a year now. I'm still struggling with the last 5-7lbs but it's not a big deal. At least I haven't gained weight and I'm very healthy. You're welcome to join if you want to!

Rose, I am so sorry that the job hunt is not going well and is so stressful for you :( And thank you for your insight and kind words about my sister. The sister with the chest pain is a different one from the one that is going through so much right now. I think my sister has gallstones and that caused her chest pain. The other sister is getting professional help, but unfortunately is still deeply depressed :( You are so right about life having it's ups and downs for us all. And it's all a matter of perspective. I think learning that has helped me the most in life!!

Good luck with your job hunt!!! Be sure to wear your padded gear when you head to the mall ;)

Affirm, I wish I could be as good as you with getting in those veggies. Fruits I have no problem with. Veggies are just hard for me.

I did 4ds upper body premix and matched Cathe on the wts except I went higher on the back exercises and used the purple band for tricep band work

ok ! I am IN on this thread ! I need all the help I canget with my sugar addiction !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today I did 4DS double cardio premix and LIS abs. I have done abs three times this week!! That's an accomplishment for me since I dislike ab work!! I have had a few cheats this weekend. I really wish I could go completely clean for a while and just see what it does. But I just seem to lose it on the weekend!! Oh well!!

I hope you ladies are having a good weekend!!

Hey everybody. Dec 1st WOW! I need to get back on track with my exercising. Last night I couldn't sleep well and I also ate tons of crap at my mom's house. Today I was sooooo tired. I still don't know if I'm going to the mall tomorrow. I have to go, but I don't know if I'll be in the mood or not. If I go to the mall then I probably won't exercise when I get back (I'm going to be walking for hours and when I get back my legs are going to be really sore), but if I don't go then PS: SL&A is on schedule.

Catherine - I love ab work. Unfortunately I can't do it like I used to. I have a cousin with DDD and she had surgery a couple of months ago. She spent only one week in bed. I don't know if that would be an option for me or not, but I've spent months modifying everything, I took the meds they gave me, and I still can't do all the things I did before. When she had the surgery I said there's no way I'm going to get surgery, but now it's definitely on my mind. I'm glad your sister is okay and I hope that the other sister gets better soon.

I also hope you ladies are having a great weekend so far.
