Happy New Years!!! I feel asleep last night and didn't make it :( DH did wake me to give me a :*

Rose, I got Cassandra Forsythe's Perfect Body Diet. She's the nutritionist that Lou Shuler used in the New Rules of Lifting for Woment. I haven't even finished NROL4W yet LOL!

Sitting here sipping my coffee and wondering what the new year holds in store for us.

Rose, glad you were able to workout and hope you are not paying for it this morning.

Affirm, is your puppy recovered from his neutering? They bounce back pretty quickly.

I haven't decided what workout to do today???????????

Happy New Year ladies! I did not exercise today because I was out of town. I'm getting ready to go to bed so I'm doing a quick check-in. I went to my aunt's house. Wow I gotta tell you that I had tons of temptations around me and I couldn't resist. However I tried to balance my calorie intake so in the end yes I did have a tiny piece of cake and other sweets but I had smaller portions of the rest of the things I ate to balance it out. I have a couple of days left (I go back to work next week) so I'm going to try and multitask for a couple of days. By the way I couldn't believe the DOMS on my legs today and I was lifting pretty darn light on Monday. I guess that's what happens when I don't weight train for more than a week. Oh man! It's already 2008, am I the only one that's compulsively checking the Ask Cathe forum hoping for a presale announcement? Yikes! lol!

Affirm - Vacation is over for you what a bummer! I hope you find more time for yourself during the new year.

Catherine - Let me know how you like your new book. By the way, I hope Muffie is feeling better these days.

Fitfairy, thanks for checking on Max. He is doing well and definitely bounced back. You wouldn't even know that he had surgery.

Rose, the holidays are over and most people are done with the temptations for a while.

Yes, I am back to work today. Not before hitting the step though. Just finished Rhythmic Step for a good sweet after a couple of weeks off. My lunch and snack are packed for the day and I hope to get in plenty of water also.

Speaking of DOMS, I wanted to do a weight tape this morning, but as you know I haven't lifted in a long time...just cardio on my workout days. Therefore, I was truly afraid of being sore and then having to take a day off. Right now, I don't need to be taking a day off. So, I am opted for cardio for a few days to get me back in the groove of things and maybe start lifting light this weekend.

Happy New Year Ladies!

Hi ladies. Today I didn't feel like doing cardio or weights so I did a beginners yoga tape instead. It has been a hard day for me in general. But tomorrow is another day so I hope it'll be better.

Affirm - Good job! Wow it takes a lot of stamina to do RS before going to work. I've tried many times to exercise before going to work and it just isn't for me, but I admire you for doing it. Whenever you start with weights again I'd say go a tiny bit lighter and expect DOMS no matter what. It just happens when we stop lifting weights for awhile. I'm glad Max is doing well.

Catherine - Is it a rest day for you? You worked really hard these past few days.

Rose, glad you got in a yoga tape. Hope it was relaxing!! Better days ahead ;)

Affirm, I don't blame you for waiting till the weekend to lift. I still have lower body DOMs from Monday!! Glad to hear Max is recovered and doing well!!

I did heavy upper body today. Will probably rest tomorrow or do something easy. Eating has been good today too!! Yippee!! On track for 1 day LOL!!

Eating was great today. If I can just keep it up.

Rose, I recall you talking about yoga before, so I am glad you have an alternative plan when needed. At least you didn't make an excuse to stay in bed like I would have done:)

I can't make any excuses because if I start doing it I won't workout for weeks. I wish I could do a tougher workout (I probably didn't burn more than half a calorie today), but I have to take it slow. If I feel better tomorrow I'll try a short cardio with light weights. We'll see. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. :)

Hi ladies! Well I don't know if keeping fingers crossed actually worked for me today.:p I wanted to lift some weights, but after doing 30 mins of low impact cardio I didn't feel like lifting weights at all so I did section 3 of Stretch Max instead. I've been eating well today and I feel good about that. I don't know what I'll do tomorrow for exercise, it depends on how well I sleep tonight and how I feel. I really want to do some upper body weight work so hopefully I can do that. Oh boy, is it Friday tomorrow? Yikes!

Rose, your day was still a success! 30 minutes of exercise and some a portion of stretch max is great for someone with back pain.

I did the step portion of Body Max for 35 minutes this morning. Eating has been great this week. My only treat is a couple of pieces of hard candy during the day (peppermint, or something like that). No ice cream! No oatmeal raisin cookies! No chocolate candy! No cake!----yeah---those things that are addicting and you can't stop.

Fitfairy, how are you doing. It should be time for a rest day for you!

Rose, I agree with Affirm, your day was absolutely a success!! I think we all know what it's like to want to workout and can not x( But you listened to your body and that's a good thing!!

Affirm, good work on your eating and working out. Avoiding the tempations is hard!!

I took a rest day yesterday. Today I plan on P90X legs and back. But first I am getting a massage this morning!!!

Oh and I got P90X+ workouts yesterday. Previewed a few of them. They don't really look to me like they compare to P90X, but just watching and doing are sooooooooo different!!!!

Today I did P90X+ total body and was super suprised at how hard it was  Of course like I said, they look a lot easier watching them :p
Lots of pushups and pullups/chinups as usual and some new moves that I fumbled through. More of a functional fitness workout. No heavy weights. I'll use it on occasion to shake things up a bit.

Eating hasn't been too bad. Could still be better, but it's not like it was over the holidays :+

Rose, I know you are dreading your vacation coming to a close :( I hope your back is doing ok today.

Affirm, I am sure you are glad the weekend is here!!

Oh and my massage was wonderful!! I have one scheduled for next month :)

Fitfairy, I am glad you like the new workouts. I have never tried the P90X series, but have read alot about it on this forum. If I recall, it focuses more on strength training..is that correct?

I just finished PUB (30 minutes of down only premix) followed by 35 minute walk on my treadmill. It was a good workout and I feel good. Eating has been good this week. Lasat night the kids had pizza and I had somewhere to go. I had one slice of pizza and took the time to make a salad and have a piece of fruit with hit. I was so proud of myself. That was much better than having 3 slices of pizza. I have increased my water intake again this week. The year is starting off good.

Affirm, way to divert yourself from the pizza!! You allowed yourself some, but didn't go overboard ^^5! PUB premix is enough IMO  It's a very effective w/o.

P90X is very strength focused using heavy weights. The P90X+ isn't as much so. More on functional fitness with lighter weights. But that's ok. I think we need a mix of both :)

Waving hi to Rose!!
