getting us started.

never evaded that cold and feel like crap-ola today.

will not be working out...AGAIN!:mad::mad:

will try to be back after work since this site is CLEARLY pornographic!:mad::mad:

Good Morning Cheetah Babes!

I have a 3ish mile run and 4DS bi/tri + abs on tap. I was going to do either the B&B or CS&T premix but I just realized that I hadn't had the chance to knock out bi/tri last week. I'd better do that or I'll be uneven!:p I will probably complete this week with the premixes though.

My legs feel great this morning. I thought I might be sore from y'day's run but I'm not! Good thing. I was kinda dreading today's run but now I guess I don't have to. :)

Lori: LOL about Cathe's site being porn. Too funny. I hope you feel better soon. Are you taking anything? I swear Airborn works! I get rid of colds in 3 days flat if I take it!

Christine: OMG I would have killed my DH if he ran his first half w/o training and beat me! LOL Men just have advantages atheletically over women and I guess we have to deal with it. Drives us to work harder though, doesn't it? Anything to show up a man! HAH! :p When I read that you were making lasagna y'day my mouth started watering. I haven't made a lasagna in ages cause I'm gonna want to eat it! I have to assign a cheat day one weekend so I make one and enjoy it. :)

Linda: Glad you had a great vacation. Good job getting runs in. No weights? No problem. Consider it your recovery week!

Cathy: Thanks for the info on Radcliffe in Athens.

Gloria: Have fun training for your 10 miler. I am signing up for a 15k in September. It's a couple weeks before my 18. I figure it'll be a good "warm up"! OMG my son LOVES his new bed. It's so cute. Only problem is that right now we are telling him not to get out of bed w/o us and he's broken the rule a few times. This makes us nervous cause when he's up there alone we don't know what he's getting into and he could get hurt! Overall he's pretty good though. We would tell him to get up and come right downstairs but he can't tell time so he's liable to get up at 5am or some crazy thing like that! He is not allowed to get up for the day until 7am.

Okay, looks like I'm all caught up! BBIAB!

Good morning, Lorie, Wendy, and the cheetah crew~ :) :) :)

Gloria :: Funny about the crab cake...:) I love all seafood...Found out I am allergic to crab, but it's worth a little sinus torture now and then. Especially in Baltimore. Next time I go, I really want to go to the Poe house and gravesite...Oh, and ha! Guess what? I'm a little afraid of holding newborns myself!...Normally, I would be in back-to-school mode by this point, but I do cherish the summer break. I like being able to do odd jobs that give me time off to recharge...BTW, what do you think of the school district in TX allowing teachers to pack heat?...Thanks re: the blog. I didn't think it would be a feature I'd use, but as I shared training stories with family & friends, I started thinking it would be good to write down my experiences. I truly wish I had done that last year during NB, which I think mirrors the marathon in many ways. Enjoy your workout today and hope you get a lot done in school. Is it the last time you'll be going in before the open house?

Wendy :: Glad Joey is enjoying his new bed. Didn't Ricky Schroeder have one of those in Silver Spoons? I was always jealous of the train set that rode through the house. :) Have a great run & u/b workout.

I had a brief bout of insomnia this morning (have had some stomach issues the past couple of days and this time they woke me up), but thankfully, I managed to get back to sleep and catch a little more shuteye. :) Yay! Today will be LIC u/b circuit and some yoga.

th_niceday.gif

Cathy: LMBO remembering Ricky's train set! Too funny. Ricky was a hottie, ey? ;) I don't recall what kind of bed he had though. LIC u/b circuit sounds fun. Enjoy it. Which yoga vid will you be doing? Sorry about the insomnia and stomach issues. Hope they don't come back.

Hi Friends!

personals first:

Cathy- I believe the rational behind the warm water is that it is is a gentle way to get your GI system moving first thing each day. The hand held water bottle looks like it would not be too uncomfortable to carry.

Welcome back Linda! A vacation does it s job when you feel ready to return to real life IMO.

Wendy- When we made the transition to from crib to bed, we put a digital clock near the bed and showed our kids the spot for the hour. Then we taught them to wait until there was a 7 there to get up. Nina used to tell the preschool teacher i"I cannot getup until "sesen oclock" She could read it but not say it! Now my boys were not so abiding. They were always jumping out of the crib and the bed. Sammy used to grt really hungry in the morning and one time we found him asleep in his crib with a loaf of french bread! Yup, he jumped out of his crib, got the bread and took it back to his crib. This was all before 6am!

Gloria- Thanks for the well wished for my PF issue. Goodluck being productive today. i like crab cakes too. lately we have been making great Everything Salmon Burgers from wild caught salmon. The recipe is from Rachel Ray.

Lori- How was your day atthe rescue place? Dangitall about the cold!

Carole- I Thought you were referring to the girl who wet her pants during a clean and press when you mentioned a yucky weight lifting incident... I felt so sad for the American gymnast on the vault last night. The chinese girl, who landed on her knees somehow ended up ahead of her. The former USA gymnastic coach, Bella Kayroli, was quite irate and almost in tears in the interview afterwards.

Christine- those shoes are cute! Is 24 miles a long ride? it sure seems it to me! I am going back to spinning class once a week starting this week. it is right before the yoga class. So my Wednesdays are all set: Spinning then yoga. Ps- I have to get bike shoes.

Yesterday, even though I planned on doing the EXT. i tried low max. after the warm up and a couple minutes of the frist segment, my foot had had enough, so I quickly hopped on the EXT to finish. When Cathe did a blast, I increased the resistance for the duration of the blast.

Today is either EXT or the bike (at home) and possibly some weight work . perhaps it will be legs and tomorrow can be UB after golf?

Judy: OMG LMBO at the french bread story! Too funny! So much so that how do you get mad when you see your kid in bed asleep with a loaf of bread!?!?:D:D:D I was thinking of buying an alarm clock that I can teach him to shut off and setting it for 7 and telling him he can't get up until it goes off BUT if it's on a morning where he CAN sleep later, I don't want to take the chance of the alarm going off and him getting up before he might have if the alarm clock wasn't ringing. DS has never been a crib climber. I am sure he could have gotten out if he wanted to but I guess he just never tried.

Wendy :: I *think* he had a bed that was shaped like a Corvette or some other sports car. I watched the show, but he was not one of my crush boys at the time. :) I haven't done that LIC premix before, but I think I'm going to start phasing out some of the weighted legwork and keep it to only once a week when I do the kettlebells...If I do a vid, it will probably be Eion or perhaps Crunch Yoga. But I may just do my own practice. I like to do that so I can focus on the areas that need more attention.

Judy :: thanks for the info re: the water...Hilarious about DS and the loaf of French bread in the crib! Enjoy the EXT or bike and whatever weights you wind up doing. Hope you can keep the foot pain in check.

Cathy: I am only doing leg work once a week these days myself. I either do plyo or endurance lifting and that's it. It's plenty with all of the running if you ask me. Especially considering how much incline running I am doing utlizing CC and the Itreads. I know you run lots of hills outdoors too so I think we are both giving our legs EXCELLENT work outs. I'm not used to running so much. I'm surprised I'm not limping around on a daily basis these days!...I liked Ricky. As a kid I was also in love with the Professor from Gilligan's Island! LOL

Off to get ready to head to the gym. Want to get it done early today!

BBL!

Wendy :: Agreed. I'm going to keep the pilates, Squeeze, or KM add-ons as well. Let's see--I had a crush on Magnum, Bo Duke, Kirk Cameron on Growing Pains, Johnny Depp in 21 Jump Street, Gopher from Love Boat (*lol* should I be admitting this?), Tony Danza in Who's the Boss?, and Hunter. :)

Good Morning Cheetah Babes!

Linda – glad to have you back! Sounds like you had a lovely vacation!! I’m glad you’re feeling better – sorry for the tummy problems!! :(

Cathy – I was happy to discover that she and I were pretty evenly matched! We’ll see on the racing – depends on how much I can improve. I hope your tummy feels better today!

Gloria – I’ll let you know what I think of the shoes. There is a pair of sandals by them I’m eyeing but my budget is a little restricted this paycheck. We’ll see. Oh, I’m sorry about your friends’ dog! I wouldn’t wish that on anyone! I’m considering a century ride in October. We’ll see. A lot depends on whether I can convince my friend to join me. :p

Lorie – I hope you’re feeling better soon. :(

Wendy – LOL that you would have killed your DH if had run the half faster without training. My DH is really athletic and he has run a lot over his life. But he’s getting older, so he’s not as fast as he once was. :p My lasagna is actually lower fat – I’ll list the recipe if you want – it’s really good. Enjoy your run!

Judy – thanks (re: shoes). 24 miles is a medium ride – I would equate it to a 5-7 mile run. Oh your spin class then yoga sounds heavenly!!! And YES, get bike shoes – get ‘em comfortable – you don’t need to spend a fortune. And if you buy them locally, they will mount the spd cleats for you. Makes a BIG difference in how you ride. Hope your foot heals soon!

Okay, I’m laughing hysterically about the secret crushes!! Too funny. I decided to do a few weeks of TT as I think they would best fit what I want to accomplish right now. My workout for the day is TT Amazing Abs workout A and HIIT on the bike. Have a great day all!

Christine :: Thanks--it's nothing major. Just a little protesting in mah belly. :) OK, now it's time for you to 'fess up about your childhood crushes!...Enjoy TT.

Good morning cheetahs

Lorie...sorry about the cold, hope it clears up ASAP.

Cathy...I have some of those reactions with certain foods myself, so Christine and I might get along fine...:D. I got a notice from Amazon that they already shipped Dexter, so I might get it a bit sooner than I thought..:). Sorry about the bit of insomnia and stomach issues. Have fun with LIC upper and yoga. Ahhh Hunter...what a cool show...:D

Wendy...I thought Radcliffe had an illness/injury that pulled her out of Athen's 4 years ago, but I could be wrong. I am glad she finished. The Olympic site is http://www.nbcolympics.com/ great site as it has tons of info and videos. My DH looked at the nasty Video and thought the lifter had actually broke his arm. Enjoy your 3 miles and 4DS bi's & tri's.

Judy...I completely agreed with Bella last night!! I was floored they actually gave a medal to a girl that fell to her knees!!! Our girl should have had the bronze. As I believe "what goes around, comes around" that same girl that medaled over ours really messed up on her floor routine. As I showed my DH that video last night about the weightlifter, he thinks the guy actually broke his arm. Very tough to watch. So, your foot is still somewhat sore? Glad you can use the EXT.

Christine...Yes, the dip in the lake was great. And only had a bit of ways to run in squishy shoes! Way to go on the fairly fast 24 miles with your friend. I think you would be an awesome bike racer...:D...Enjoy your abs workout and HIIT on the bike. I always had a crush on Magnum, I even watch reruns on occasion...:D

Linda...welcome back! I am sure you would not think our weather is very humid compared to yours. Ours has gotten a bit worse over the years, but nothing like back east. Sorry abut the stomach issues on the 6 miler. Sounds like you got in some other good runs though.

Gloria...I agree that the gymnasts show exceptional strength! Good job with the pizza. How cool you got to see some ballet as a kid. Way to go with your 5 miler and yoga yesterday.

I was so happy the temps here did not get into the 100's yesterday. Amazing when 94 feels cool!! Today is GS BSB, coremax and a 4 mile run.

Have a great day...:)

Good Morning cheetahs.

Back to normal with it being Monday all over again. I did have such a nice time yesterday at the 5k and at my sisters. Didn't do too bad with the nutrition but certainly wasn't note worthy to log in with it either. I know I wasn't stuffed so that is a good thing. :p

Today was an easy 3 miles and abs. Last week was an easy week and now I have 4 weeks of harder longer runs for the half. My long run is up to 9 miles now and my tempo runs are at 6-7. I'm following a Runners World schedule which did me well in the past.

Wendi- Sorry to hear about your friend. Hope you can enjoy your mini vacation. I know first hand how hard it is to go away when something personal is on your mind. Try your best to make the most of it. You may be surprised at how being away can actually help you.

Cathy- Great long run on Sunday. 11 miles is a 11 miles. More than some do in a lifetime. Some days you just don't want to do anymore and that is Perfectly Fine. Glad you were able to get in some more shut eye this morning.

Lorie- Saying prayers for your sick babies. I know what it is to ask for prayers so I'm sure I owe all of you quite a few here lately.

Wendy- How cool is that your dh wants to run a 5k with you. I wish my dh would run one. He seems perfectly content sitting there with the girls watching me but I do wish he would run with me sometimes. However, then I would need a baby sitter. So I guess it works out. When I do run for my long runs he does bike with the girls so that is good. I guess I shoudn't complain but I will.

Carole- Hope you enjoyed your trail run. Thanks for the congrats yesterday. It was nerve racking going yesterday. Two years is a long time to go without a race of any kind. It makes you feel like you have never done one before. But then you get there and it's like riding a bike. It's fun and scary at the same time. Plus it makes you want to do it again.

Judy- I think your training smart for your foot. Keep it up. Sending healing vibes.

Dallas- photos are so awesome. I'm gald you were able to hold the newborn. Aren't they so teeny tiny.

Christine- I just caught the post on the coffe icing. Oh my word. Why do people do that. You have more restraint then me. I would have down the cake. Hope your heel HEALS.:)

Linda- Sorry about your stomach issues. I know it's hard to train and run for anything when you don't feel well. Hope you are better soon.

Gloria- I love Rodney Yee. He was my first introduciton to yoga and I was hooked. Bryan Kest is my favorite but I have a soft spot for Rodney.

Off to tackel fall cleaning my girls room. Send in the Navy if drowned in there.

I'm fooling around with the nutrition software and I don't get the colesterol thing. According to my program I'm suppose to get 0-150 mg of colesterol a day. So far I have done just that. But today for breakfast I ate one medium egg on ezhekial bread with a tomatoe and I have an F for the day. One egg has 187 mg of colesterol. How unfair. I don't eat eggs that ofen but I falied all day on that. I suppose eveything else will have to be spot on now.

Good morning Cheetahs!

Sorry no time for personals today. I have a report to put together and it will take all day.

DBF came up on Saturday. We stayed in and watched the Olympics. Yesterday was a rest day. Today's workout was Shred #3 and SSE Cardio Sculpt.

Hopefully I'll catch up later. If not, enjoy your day!

tryin to catch up

Mysterious fly by now and then cheetah reporting:eek: I've been missing this friendly refuge!! Got a lot done on my last visit to central PA. We got our driver's licenses so we are official pennsylvanians now I guess:rolleyes:
Next week the cars finally get registered so I wont look like an Arizona tourist driving around Philly anymore. I'm enjoying 2 days off where I don't have to drive anywhere and can catch up with paperwork here in my peaceful apartment.

I finally made it to Fairmount park for my long run this morning:eek::eek::D:D
WOW.... I'm quite upset I didn't make the time for this before. What a beautiful inspirational run. I did the classic river loop which is 8.4 miles long but added more to make it an 11 mile run. Most of the trail is nicely shaded and there are plenty of porta potties. The Schuykill river is so peaceful and beatiful with lots of rowers on it. It also winds around the art museum and the "Rocky" steps. No I did not run up them today... maybe next time;) Wouldn't you know it though... there was a guy in boxer shorts running up and down them when I passed! Watching the Women's Olympic triathlon on TV right now... nice inspiration!

Yesterday after recovering from work with a nap I had quite a challenging workout with B&G Scrambled Eggs and later The Next step so I was pretyt pleased with my run today and was able to maintain a decent 9:00 pace.
But the quads are definitely talking to me now!

Later today I'll get in some good upper body work with 4DS I think.
Tomorrow it's back to work for a 3 nite stretch and then the drive back to join my honey at our new home for a bit.

I'll be back with some personals

personals

Lorie- Sorry you're dealing with a crud bug!! Take care and try to let the body rest.

Wendy- Sounds like you are well into ramping up the running now:eek: WTG!
WOW, Joey has crossed a major milestone... into a bed of his own now!!

Cathy- Love the upper body work in LIC... quite challenging IMO, especially the push ups. I'm gonna have to backtrack a bit and find out how you're doing with the long runs now... I'm so out of touch!

Judy- Dealing with a foot injury? I guess you are able to do low impact workouts anyway... hopefully it will be better soon. Has it affected your golf game?

Christine- So what's the next "goal" for you--- considering a duathlon perhaps? When is your NC trip coming up? Or did you already go..... I'm so confused and befuddled lately:confused: Have to think to remember my own name at times!

Carole- I guess you had a successful trail run yesterday and I'm glad the weather cooperated. The mornings in Pa are quite wonderful now... temps in the hi 50s low 60s... a runners dream! Unfortunately it won't be too much longer before I'll be whining about the cold! Are you into watching the Olympics? I always get hooked on them. I passed out early last nite tho so missed the women gymnasts competing... probably a good thing I did.

Karen- Sounds like you have a great running schedule and training program going on now! keep up the good work and most importantly... have fun!! I have to go back and read your report about the 5k!

Jackie- Hiya!! Good luck with the report... hope it goes quickly for you.

I guess that's it for now... Hi Gloria, Thomasina, Linda... and anyone else I've missed.

Back from the gym (and the park). I ran 3 miles to Itread 21/30 run intervals. I'm all showered up because we were heading to the park afterwards so I didn't want to offend. :p Problem is, now I have to find it in me to want to get all sweaty again so I can do 4DS at nap time! What's a girl to do!? LOL

Well, I was gonna do personals but the little guy is lookin' for food. I guess it's lunch time so I'll be back later!:D

Hi Cheetahs!

Quick post of workout. Imax 3 blast premix followed by Lowmax blast premix. I added on Tamilee Arms too. Feeling great. That was fun. Gotta run...DH and I are driving over to Traverse City and going out to dinner at Outback. Will post personals tonight or tomorrow. Hope all have a fun day!
