Good Morning Kathy!

kaffeetrinker_2.gif

I'm tired today, had to get up my usual 2 times for Zach's blood sugar, but at 3:30am check, he was high, and I had to stay awake long enough for him to check his urine for ketones. If I'm up for "too long", I have a hard time falling asleep. When I did fall asleep, I had some crazy dream about making out with this guy, who was just framing me for a murder and was going to "expose" me!:eek:

Sadly enough, I have to put off my PLYO LEG workout (Disc 35) for this afternoon. I'm taking my mom for another go round of her ultrasound (the first time they didn't have her scheduled, remember?). It's for 11am, so I won't get home until after 1 probably. As long as I can start by 2p. I have a feeling she's going to want to take me out to lunch, but the boys are taking me out to dinner tonight. But I hate to say no. What to do what to do...

I'm looking forward to my LAST Plyo leg workout too!!!

BBL!

Hey Chris...Hope your mom's appointment goes well! Sorry you are tired. It is hard to get through plyo legs without energy! I will be doing my workout around 1:00 too..Have a great lunch with your mom...

Ok, just got done making some apple crisp while the kids were working on their lessons. I had tons of apples that were going bad...It feels really good. I did try to make it a little healthy by using splenda and whole wheat flour. I will have to try it later!!LOL

Good morning, and happy italian bakery cake day to Chris (I can't wish you a happy birthday yet, even though I know today is the celebration ;)).

Kathy, that apple crisp sounds yummy!!

Chris, if you have to hold off plyo legs til tomorrow, will that work? I know you don't want to miss a day, but it seems like it might be nice to have lunch with your mom! Good luck with the appt.

Ok, Joanne, how did meso 3 disc 1 go for you this morning? I had a hard time sleeping, too -- must be in the air, Chris -- so I wasn't sure how I'd do, but it was fine. I couldn't go quite as heavy as I was supposed to on the chest press -- I think once I get the rack I may be able to, but for now I had to go lighter. Actually went a teeny bit heavier on the flies and one arm rows. The scary thing is that I don't have much more weight I can put onto my barbell! Not sure what I'm going to do about that, and I'm already contemplating the purchase of a 35 pound db.

Kathy, you mentioned your hands hurting, and I remember wondering about that because I just haven't had that problem. Well, now I have! It's amazing what a little difference in weights makes!!

Chris, what a nightmare! Travis woke up from a nightmare right after I started my workout, so he sat through the whole thing. I kept telling him he had an hour and a half more he could sleep, but he was too afraid to go back to bed! Oh, and I read your comment last night about the protein before bed being your problem -- yeah, that's it -- clean up your act, girl! :D

Joanne, I imagine you'll be car shopping if not today, soon. Good luck with that!

Vilma -- yoo-hooo! How are you?!

-Beth

Beth: I know..I never had problems with my hands hurting until meso 3; Especially the 90% week. My wrists and hands were aching. They are ok now. But, man the day I did them ouch. I had a little achy stuff on Monday. But, it went away when I finished the workout. I hope that means I am strengthening!!

Hi all!

Kathy, did your hands and wrists hurt during or after the workouts? I've only done one so far and mine have been OK. Mmmm, that apple crisp sounds good! Enjoy!

Chris, even if you have to do Plyo legs tomorrow, you can still do the last workout Friday. I know how it is to try and fit the workouts in. If I don't do it in the morning, it's not happening. It's nothing serious with your mom, is it? Happy b'day cake day!! Too funny about your dream! ;) So, anyone you know?? ;)

Beth, I liked the first Meso 3 workout. Although I can't go any heavier with the barbell for chest. I'm only using 40 pounds right now, but I'm afraid to go any heavier. I don't have a rack. But, it felt plenty heavy for me! I rigged up 28 pounds for the one arm rows, but could have gone heavier. I only have up to 25 pound dumbbells. I like switching between the chest and back. That was a long workout, though. I could see doing three sets instead of the four to cut down the time. Looking forward to Plyo Legs!!

I'm not sure when we'll be able to look at cars. We did get an offer from the insurance company and I thought it was good - more than I expected. DH thought it should be more, so he hasn't told them to go ahead with it yet. The alternative is to give us back the car and $1,000. Not happening!!! DH agrees, but now he needs to call them and tell them we'll take the offer. We're busy all day Saturday with soccer games, but maybe during the evenings. Beth, I'll look into the Odyssey.

BBL...

Joanne

Hi Guys

I'm here Beth just fussing around our property doing some yard work - we just ordered a ton of dirt for an area we needed to level out and that should be here shortly.

Not much going on here except everyday boring house hold fixing up to do. Getting ready to prep for the market next year.

I'll be back with CLX tomorrow when dh goes back to work and will be starting on Lean.

DH said to expect a package soon for my birthday :D I asked or have been hinting at Turbo Jam and my own copy of CLX so I'll see what I'll get. I really enjoy CLX and want to continue with it after I give myself a month's break from it as I'll be done with it soon.

So I always get a combo Mother's day/ birthday gift I hope it's one or the other lol

Chris happy birthday to my follow Taurean ;)

Ah man he's wanting water so I need to get off my arse and go back outside here

Joanne: The week of 90% it felt achy lifting the dumbbells up to do chest presses and after I finished working out for the day it was achy. It went away though.. Good luck on the car search. When I had my accident (lady ran a red light) our van was like 2 payments from being paid off! We were mad. I didn't think we got what we should either. But, nothing we could do about it. We have a Honda Odyssey too. I love it!! Oh I tried the apple crisp and it was yummy!!

Vilma: Yard work..have fun with that. We have been getting SO much rain lately. We can't keep the grass cut. Hubby went out there yesterday quick before it started in last night to get it cut. Happy Birthday to you too. When is the birthday? Hope you enjoy what is in the package!!

Ok, finished up with plyo legs..It was awesome. I was sweating like crazy! I also did the yoga abs..I like that one.

Now, the kids and I are off to PE class and then CCD later....

Kathy, funny.... I thought you meant the skin on your hands -- I feel sort of blistery! I have definitely had problems with my grip once I started lifting heavier, but I think I'm noticing that that must be getting stronger -- it's not bothering me quite so much (though maybe it's the reduced reps!). I think I will try to remember to put on my gloves for next workout. I like yoga abs, too!

Joanne, yes, it was a long workout, and a couple of times it really felt like she was throwing in a fifth set of things! I could have sworn I was done on one of them, and was about to start chest flies, and realized they were still doing presses!!

Vilma, I'm curious to know what phase you like best, once you get through the first week of lean.

It's my cleanup the house day and I'm taking a break -- I should get back to it........

Hey Again!

So I declined lunch with my mom, and she was very understanding , since I was going out for dinner. I stopped at the grocery store for strawberries and salads (buy 1 , get 2 free) , and then home, pre-workout snack, and jumped (literally) into Disc 35, PLYO Legs. Oh my! It worked me hard, and I was wishing it would be over, but then at the end, after I'm changed up, I'm thinking how I'd like more! Crazy, huh? But the 4th Plyo didn't scare me as much. It seemed shorter to me, and I think I did better at the plyo moves than before. perhaps built up an endurance?

I ended up doing abs yesterday. I found "Tae Bo Abs" at Ocean State Job Lot for $2.99, so bought it, came home and did it! Billy Blanks sure is different, but it was good standing ab work. I didn't do the floorwork. I wish I had though. And you can't fast-forward to different spots on the workout.

Kathy: We were probably "plyo-ing" at the same time! That apple crisp soundds so good! I love the smell of it baking most of all!

Beth: Sounds like you made it through AND liked the first MESO 3? For some reason I totally miscalculated chest press 1RM's, and it took me forever to figure it out. ..Poor Travis! I understand nightmares. Oddly enough, i wanted to stay in mine, to figure out what happened..LOL! Yes, no more protein for me at bedtime! :p My forearms hurt alot starting Meso 3, with the heavy weights. I did and still do find the skin on my hands pulling if I don't wear gloves too.

Joanne: My mom was having an ultrasound of her kidneys. She has had a long history of high blood pressure, and that has long term effects on the arteries to the kidneys which in turn can cause kidney failure. She's actually had to have stents put in twice, because those arteries were blocked. She's followed by a kidney specialist and she ordered the ultrasound to see if there's any blockage now. (Was that TMI?..sorry!). But she feels pretty good! ... My dream was a random stranger! So weird, but he was kind of hot too! LOL!! ... I agree, the 4 sets were KILLER to start. You kind of get used to it. I think the shoulders/tri/bi's go by faster, because I like to work them better..... We're not a minivan kind of people either. We've always had SUV's. The ones with 3 rows of seats. Right now we have a Durango. (2001) and a Honda Civic. I love driving the little Civic!

Vilma: YAY! Nice to "see" you! When is your birthday??/ How exciting you have something coming in the mail!! I hope you get some TJ's, I bet you'd enjoy them! Yep, me and you, Taurus the BULLS! You better believe it!!....

Waiting for hubby to get out of the shower , and then we're off to dinner. Wanna hear something really REALLY bad??? POST Plyo Legs, I ate COOKIES:eek:! OMG..how freakin bad is that?? But I'm going to have just today, and everything else is off limits tomorrow !!!!! Hold me to it, k??

Chris, I love your banana plyo guy -- hilarious!

So you wear gloves for weights, too? And, which way wrong did you calculate your 1RMs for chest press? I can't wait to get that rack!!!

Oh, your mention of the durango reminds me that another friend got I think it was an Explorer? with three rows of seats. They had pretty big requirements for being able to carry enough people, have enough room in the back, etc. And, to boot, they got it with a dvd player -- nice for long trips, of course. They got it used and got a pretty good deal.

Well, my house is in a little better shape, but it could always be much better! We are all so bad about putting things away, and my mother is coming Friday.....

I ate chocolate this afternoon, Chris, but at least I ate it with almonds. Let's both do better tomorrow!

-Beth

Hey guys...long time no write. I'm just back in my drama swing, same old stuff. I've been a little upset with how I've been looking and feeling...definitely gained about five pounds and it all seems to look worst in my belly but I've definitely lost a lot of definition too. But trying to use it to motivate me I set it upon myself to try and workout 10x in the next two weeks. Today was day 3 and I did an abbreviated form of LIC. The only reason it was short was because my body is clearly not used to being on hardwood and I have to think of something to pad my knees with when doing pushups or any strict floor work. Hopefully, the light weight work will shake my body up a little.

Let's see if I can get through all these personals..

Kathy -- hope you had fun at the PE class. That's cool about the apple crisps...I just made a metric buttload of this vegetable stir fry on Monday because if I didn't my broccoli was going to go bad (and I lurve broccoli). It's been nice eating such healthy vegetables for so many days in a row but I have to admit, I think I want meat today. Maybe chicken or turkey but some kind of meat. Ok, now I'm hungry...

Chris -- since I'm hungry, you want to share some of those cookies? I hope your mom is feeling better. Even if you feel well, sometimes its just stressful to go for the exams because it upsets the general balance of your life. billy blanks is VERY different but he makes me laugh too much to do his workouts for too long. i've been doing ellen barrett stuff for my ab work (before I fell off the horse) because I used her as a stepping stone to Cathe -- ever try her? Her voice is weird to me sometimes but I feel it in the core later so whatever gets me results.

Beth -- poor Travis! I sometimes can't go back to sleep when I have nightmares too still. But I usually just put the DVR on or something to the political shows i've missed and they usually make me drowsy enough that I "rest." I was just thinking the other day how I would ideally want your schedule where Wednesday I got off from work to take care of housework...the last month or two has really opened my eyes to why one person goes to work and one person stays at home unit dynamic worked so well. (But I couldn't stay at home all day -- I'd go crazy. Joe has often volunteered to be a house/telecommuting husband because he doesn't need social interaction nearly as much as me).

Joanne -- how long can you wait to get the car? When Joe totaled our car he had the good sense to do it there weeks before the last major sell off of the previous year's inventory. I bought my Mazda3 $2500 under invoice (not msrp). My parents got their Malibu I think $5K under invoice too when they waited for the inventory clearance. You probably can't wait that long but I was just curious. I told Joe like a week ago that if i could buy a new car right now its actually a Ford Fusion Hybrid. (my family pretty much only buys American-- it was a real departure that I got a Mazda3 but Ford has a 1/3 stake in the line which made me ok with it). Was the Odyssey the previous car or are you looking into it for a specific reason?

Vilma -- sounds like you're getting a cool mother's day present! I feel very wary about starting outdoor projects right now. We barely have a lawn because the previous owners just put concrete everywhere. We need to make a french drain before it gets too hot to work outside. Joe was talking about raised beds which makes sense but I've never made those beds so I have no idea how big or small the project may be. But I do see the urge to work outside when there's such nice weather.

did I get everyone? See? I haven't lost my endurance to be chatty!

Hottie! Good to see you back -- your goal of 10x in the next two weeks sounds good.

Joanne was going to check out odysseys because she mentioned they need a lot of seating but aren't minivan people. I told her everyone I know who has an odyssey absolutely loves it (and at least some of those people were very anti-minivan previously).

Indeed, when you have kids in the mix, it really becomes obvious why one person stays home. Larry and I do have a pretty good split between things -- a lot of people would call it old-fashioned, I suppose, but it works and is fairly efficient. We have talked about how quality of life for people has in a lot of ways gone down since women went into the workforce so commonly.

You'd better get on those french drains -- it's getting warm already, isn't it? So funny how we can jump from winter to summer here overnight. I was just outside cleaning out my car and it was feeling hot and humid (the humid part odd, but it must be from the rain we've had, I guess). We made raised beds for the vegetable garden -- quite a bit of work, and not cheap. :(
