Jogglers November!!!

RapidBreath

Cathlete
Seriously, here we are, in November.:eek::eek::eek:

I did yoga relax this morning. I will do Atheltic Training this afternoon. I was good I did not eat any Halloween candy. I did have some banana nut bread, but it was home made with coconut oil, so it is ok;)

Jane- I wonder what happened to the pup, you don't think he just wanted a treat? :p Your workout looks great.

Tricia- Did you dress up? did you have any treats?

Alisha

Alisha ~ I wonder too. I expected him to be curled up on our doorstep this morning. He was a sweetie!! Good job on the no candy. We never get any trick or treaters but I bought candy I don't like, just in case. Now it's here at work.

Have fun with Athletic Training. I've heard it's good!

Hi Tricia!!

I could only do 1/2 of Athletic training, it was over my head. I'm taking today as a rest day. I'm just tired. Tomorrow will be Turbo Barre. On Friday, we are driving to Las Vegas. Saturday we will be in the conference all day. Sunday we drive home. I won't really have time to workout. Its about a 14 hour drive in each direction. Bleh. Anywhoo.

Jane-I didn't let anyone have candy at our house. Some went to my Mom's work to be given to the children who were dressed up and visiting, apparently they were really super cute.

Tricia- How is it going?

Hi ladies!

I keep having these brain farts and forgetting to check in!

Had to go back and read all that went on at the end of last month! I cannot believe it is November already!

I do feel better, thank you! I so appreciate that I can vent here and you gals will make me feel so much better!

My husband bought Halloween candy, but never turned the porch light on! He used the ruse that he wanted to give out candy to get it for himself! lol Of course, now, I'm indulging! I made myself a raw date nut torte tonight so I have something healthy and sweet to eat in place of the junk candy.

BBX Hardcore is awesome! Hard, but awesome! I'm so sore and I don't know how long it will take before all that goes away. I do 5 days in a row and 2 days off. It's 1 hr. of cardio and strength mixed, then 1/2 hr. of weight work only alternating with another full hour, then 1/2 hr. of cardio only and one more 1 hr. of mix. Whew! You stay with level 1 for 30 days, then progress to level 2 and level 3. There are modifications for all the exercises for each level. I can really see this helping my middle since it heavily focuses on core strength and body awareness! I'll give you more once I've done at least a full week!

I still haven't done Athletic Training yet, Alisha, but hope to sneak it in somewhere soon!

Jane - I'm glad you had such a wonderful weekend with your run and baking with your mom and sister! Those cookies sure sound delicious! I hope the puppy found his way back home!

We still don't have a light working in the wall socket in the bathroom yet. This house is so old it's hard to get anything fixed in it! Hopefully, soon! At least we have a lamp in there, but it's not the greatest!

Have a terrific night! I'm hoping my friend from DC finally makes it up for a visit this weekend! She's going to try again! Keep your fingers crossed!

I went for a 3.5 mile run tonight. I felt really good. Usually I don't feel great on evening runs but the cooler weather helped.

I saw my little doggie friend tonight but he was over on the next block, where he belongs. He came over to say hi but then ran away.

Tricia - BBX Hardcore sounds awesome. I'm glad you're enjoying it.

Alisha - Your weekend sounds like a long one. Will you have time to have some fun?

It's Tabata Thursday!!!

Here is tonight's workout.

20 seconds work/10 seconds rest of the follow:
Swings
Clean/Press/Squat
Jump Squats
Hand to Hand Swings
Walkouts
Run 400m between each exercise

Hope you guys are having a great Thursday!!

Hi Jane!

Glad you had a nice run last night! Your puppy friend seems to have found his home! That's good. Love tabata! Tons accomplished in a short time! ^5s!

Thursday has been good! Luckily, this week has gone by pretty fast! Getting the workouts in now, but still need to reign in the sweets! I'll do better once I can get back on track with my raw foods. Starting to trend that way a bit more now with the heat on and the temps back to normal!

Have a good Friday ladies!

Leaving for Las Vegas

I'm going to be out of town until Monday. I won't have time to check in, but no matter as I won't have a workout.

I will catch up then,

Alisha

I am going for another run tonight after work.

Alisha ~ Tricia and I will workout for you. Have fun!

Hi Tricia ~ I'm glad you're getting your workouts in.

TGIF!!

I hope you guys are having a great weekend.

Here's what I did:

Saturday
3 Round - 10 reps of each of bicep curls, rows, upright rows, press, thruster
Then - 4 Rounds - Swing Progression and Squat Thrusts
10 Reps at 30#, 35#, 44#, 53# with 5 squat thrust between each weight increase.
Then - 3 rounds of:
5 Mr. Spectaculars
10 Weighted Step ups
15 Ball Slams

Part of our workout on Saturday morning was interrupted by one of the crazy dogs roaming the neighborhood. He sent one my neighbor's cat up the tree and the dog was howling at it. Actually it was more like a screech. She we tried to get the dog away from it. Sheba, my neighbor's other cat played decoy and ran up a tree in the other direction. The first cat got down and ran away. Then we had to get the dog away from Sheba. She was hanging to the tree for dear life. We just ended up yelling at the dog and he finally ran away so Sheba was saved. Yay!

Sunday
12.5 mile run.

Hanging out at home today cleaning and relaxing.

The Time Changed, did you remember to change your watches?

Tricia- Thanks for doing my workouts for me;)

I think I"m going to do Slide n' Glide this afternoon and maybe some Leslie Sansone miles too. I would go running but I have to buy some new snow/cold gear and its really cold out there.

The weekend was mostly driving, my Dad didn' want to fly so we drove the 9 hours in each direction to go to this professional symposium on ADA and inspection. I'm glad I went. I had a good time. I wished I could have had some exercise but there wasn't a real good way to do that. We stayed in the dorms on campus at UNLV. If I had taken my laptop I could have done a Cathe, the room was big, but I didn't want to run the risk of my computer being stolen, so I had left it at home. I am going to be working on losing whatever weight I gained over the weekend. I'm not getting on the scale, I don't want to know. I ate pretty good and skipped dinner on Friday and Sunday so as to keep the calories in an acceptable range. Commercial food tends to plump me.

Yesterday we had breakfast at one of the casinos, I don't know which one. But I had this great smoked salmon hash and I didn't feel hungry again until this morning. The power of Omega 3s:eek:

Jane- Poor Sheba! What an ill behaved dog, he needs more training.

Tricia- I need to work on being good too. I had a small piece of fudge yesterday and my stomach did not appreciate it even though my taste buds did.:( Lets eat clean together, ok?

Tomorrow will be a Low Max. I love that one and it fits in with the other low impact ones really nicely. I am liking low impact challenge (the step one) but I find I get a better calorie burn with the older workouts like LM, RS, SB, or any of the really old ones like the Cardio Hits or Classics Vol 1.

Alisha

Here's my workout for today. I'm glad Monday is over!

Workout #1
10 Swings, 1 Push up, 10 swings, 2 push ups - continue until your reach 10 swings, 10 pushups.

Workout #2 - 35 secs work/15 seconds rest - 2 sets of each
Swings/Presses (right)/Presses (left)
Front Squat/Back Rows
H2H Swings/Lunges (right)/Lunges (left)
Chest Preses/Slasher to Halo (alternating sides)

Walkouts/Russian Twists

Alisha ~ I'm glad you had a good time in Vegas. It's hard to stay on point with food when you travel. I'm sure once you get back on track the pounds will drop off. That is what usually happens to me.

How did you like Slide n' Glide?

Hi Tricia!

Hi you two!

Saturday was a wine tasting at Newport Vineyards and I just plain forgot to check in! lol

I don't even remember what I did Sunday besides go grocery shopping! lolol

Today, besides work, I went to TJ Maxx to check out scarves. I was wanting a couple of nice dressy ones to wear at the office to keep my neck and chest warm, but the ones I liked were $25 or more! Not worth that much on one income! Oh, well. Was going to workout when I got home, but Stephen was already home from school.

Alisha - I'm on a nutrition challenge for the month of November, so you can jump on board with me! I'm working on breaking my worst habit of the chocolate and nuts "snack" I tend to eat every day!

I'm glad you and your dad had a great trip!

Jane - As usual, your workouts are great! I haven't lost any weight recently. I think that's from not being on 100% raw right now. I can't believe it is making that big of a difference! I just need to keep tweaking it. I ordered a book called Becoming Raw which talks more about the science and background of it, which I think I need more of. There's also a new book coming out in January called Raw & Beyond which talks more about Omega-3 and the lack of them in a 100% raw diet. It talks more about balancing diet and nutrition. Can't wait for that one to come out!

Of course, there's all this recent scare over acrylamides (?) a highly toxic carcinogen produced when foods are cooked at hight heat regardless of what the food is or how it's cooked - grilled, roasted, etc. Can't win! I'm learning that dehydrating is really the way to go and maybe steaming to keep the carcinogens down and the nutrients high, but also incorporated with raw foods.

We shall see as I read more and more!

I've loved BBX so far, but have only done the first week. We shall see if it starts to get boring as the next 3 weeks progress. I don't up to the next level until then!

Have a great night!

Tricia-I'm in for that November clean challenge. I don't do real well with most nuts except walnuts, they tend to plump me. Chocolate covered nuts don't help at all. :(

Yeah, I don't see a lot of good sources for omega 3s in a raw diet. What about mostly raw with a side of salmon?

Jane-I do like slide n glide. Its a lot of fun, kind of silly, sliding around, but I get into it. I don't mind being silly. :p

I am going for a hike today. I did Low Max yesterday instead of slide n glide.

I took a rest day yesterday. Today will be a short 2-3 mile run and then no workouts for Thursday or Friday as Saturday is my 1/2 marathon. We'll be driving up on Friday afternoon. It is suppose to be cold (in the mid 30's) on Saturday morning. Yikes!! That is freakin' me out but I'll probably run in pants and wear a short sleeve top with my arm warmers. I was hoping for the mid 40's at race time.

Alisha ~ I'm glad you enjoyed Slide 'n Glide. Hope you had a great hike.

Tricia ~ I think nutrition is all about tweaking to find what works for you as well as planning ahead and making good choices.

Have a great day!

I took a rest day. I was in training for OSHA all day. It was oddly fun and interesting. The stories and photos of people doing things they shouldn't oughta was funny and sometimes tragic. Tomorrow will be another hike. Its really cold. I think we might get some snow for Thanksgiving.

Jane- Tuesday's hike was great, long, and I got 500 cal. burned!

Tricia- How is the diet going? I didn't do so well today. I had 2 tacos and a bean burrito from Del Taco for lunch. I am skipping dinner, but thats because I'm still full.

Alisha

I changed my mind, I did RS this morning. I forgot, its Thursday, and that means is trash day, and I hate stinky trash. So, I stayed inside. I love RS.:D

I took a rest day yesterday. This afternoon I leave for my 1/2 marathon that is tomorrow. I'm so excited and looking forward to it. The weather will be 34 and clear with light winds.

Alisha - I'm glad you had a great hike on Wednesday and enjoyed your RS workout yesterday. I would have stayed inside too.

Hi Tricia!

TGIF!

Jane- Good luck on your race!!

I will do a Leslie disc today (5 miles w/intervals) I'm having some IBS issues so I don't feel like being outside is the right thing to do. I will also do some yoga this afternoon. I plan to rest this morning and study in the afternoon. Tomorrow will be Step Fit from Cardio hits. In the afternoon I will be going on a photo shoot. I will pack a big cooler with lots of healthy eats. I don't want to blow my diet. I'm there to take pictures not to eat.

Tricia- Did you have a good workout? How is the raw diet going? I have a hard time passing up toast. Yesterday I made a roast eggplant, it would be hard for me to give up roast veggies.

Alisha

My endurance is finally returning, I started the Leslie disc but my hr wouldn't get above 110, so I just stopped. No point in a no calorie workout. I did an hour of intense yoga instead. This morning I plan on doing step blast.

Jane- How was your race?

Tricia- How is the diet going? Have you had a workout lately?

Alisha
