Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for Sunday May 13

Cathlete
Morning Maniacs -

This morning I did Cathe's Cardio Fusion Step Premix 48" plus cool down and then I did Power Squeeze lower body/abs. Total cardio was 50" (without stretch) and I burned 365 calories. After the Squeeze session, workout was 1 hour 24 minutes with stretch and my calorie burn was 471.

I also did Xflowsion Calm Down Dog 27". Nice yoga session.

I had a hard time with some of the power circuits on the cardio, as my legs are toast again today. I don't know what's up with them. I know running on the treadmill makes them sore, but they seem to never recover. Don't know if that's good or bad. I'm also sore all over in different places in my back and throughout my body. It must be from Xflowsion....which is surprising to me....unless part of it's from that crazy workout I did Friday also where we were doing jumping jacks holding the top of the step.

I think I've changed my mind yet again. I think I need to look for a Fat Loss rotation before I start the Strong as a Bull One. I need to lose these few pounds that are hanging on from vacation.

We're going to another movie today. I had to get my workout done fast, as the movie is at 10:00 am. My DH love's the early Summer hours. He gets up even earlier than me.

Diane Sue - my headache is back. Time for the Grr again!! I'll try to get my 3 applications in earlier today! I think mine is probably a migraine due to my sinuses, as my sinuses have been awful. I have another appointment with a specialist (since the other one wants me to have surgery and I won't go back to him). I doubt there is anything they can do for me medically, but I figured I'd give it one more shot, as I am NOT having surgery no matter how much I suffer. I've never heard one good thing from anyone that's had it.

Deb - I can't wait for Jax to find out what his brother did on GH! I'm so sick of Liz and the baby already! What other movies have you seen recently that were good like The Invisible? You need to update me on that sort of stuff!

Have a great day ladies. You are all so inspiring and have all been getting in some great workouts. So glad I have all of you to push me to do better!

Deb - okay...what rotation do you have that incorporates Cathe's newer stuff that would be good for Fat Loss/Muscle Def? Did you say the Get Ready for Summer one would be best? I can't remember? Didn't you have an all circuits one once? If so, did it incorporate newer workouts and which one do you recommend for me out of all of your rotations? I don't want to do Cathe's premix one for May....as I don't really care for it.

Also - does anyone know what month Cathe's latest series came out so I can look at the rotations that were made after that time period?

Good Morining Maniacs,

Today is GS Chest and cardio, i think i might just do the elliptical for cardio as my hip is getting tight again and starting to bother me so its a sign that im doing to much impactx(

Lora- Cathe had a november 06 rotation using all the new DVDs, I hope your sinus get better, I dont blame you for not wanting to get surgery i would try every possible thing before even considering that. Hope you find a good rotation :)

BBL. Have a good day everyone.:7

Good Morning. Today is my rest day. The family will all be here later for Mother's day.

Lora, I am sorry you are still having the headache. Mine is better this morning. I just didn't sleep well. I have never heard much about sinus surgury. Just the thought of it doesn't sound good. Have you researched it?

Diane Sue - Yes, I have a bit but I really don't want it because of the prognosis the doctor gave me. Said that there is a chance it could damage the tissue in that area, as I have severe problems and it involves a lot more removal of tissue than a normal procedure. I have polyps all in my sinuses and down my throat. The thing with polyps is that there is only a 50 percent chance that they will stay gone. They tend to recur...as do sinus problems. Also, the thought of ending up with more problems because your tissue can be damaged and then you can have problems with dry sinuses, etc. Plus, when I worked for that Neurosurgeon, he always told patients that once your "cut" you're never the same and made sure they understood that. That - coupled with the fact that I'm overly sensitive to pain, the recovery is dreadful with the sinus surgery and me just being overly sensitive....I don't want to be cut. I'm PMing you a question. Hope you don't mind.

Michelle - thanks, I'll check that rotation out. I need to find something today.....it's deciding that is tough for me. I'm an indecisive Libra. I may just find a couple rotations and do a couple weeks from each if I can't decide!! LOL.

Lora- I forgot to ask you before, Do you have any suggestions for a yoga workout for a stretch, all i have right know are power yoga workouts and sometimes i just want something really light to do, If you have any suggestions that would be great. Thanks

Diane Sue- Enjoy your rest day, hope the weather is nice for you, Yesterday i got out in the sun and it felt wonderful, I love the sunshine:7

This moring I did cardio and decided to just do steady state instead of a Cardio Coach workout on my treadmill. I did a 5 minute warmup and then jogged on and off for 15 minutes until I got my HR up. Since it takes a long time to get my HR up jogging at least gets it up there quick. Then I stayed in my zone 2 for the rest of the workout. That usually is 130 bmp - 140 bpm, I stay in the middle of that or try to.

Then I did the ab work from Muscle Endurance. Love that ab work!

Workout was 1:16, was in my zone for 52 minutes and burned 387 calories. I was shocked when I seen that calorie burn!

Lora - We don't go see movies too often, but we rent two movies every weekend. We seen "The Hitcher" last weekend, that was really good. I liked it. Last night we seen "Catch and Release" and Friday we seen "Because I Said So". Both movies were excellent. I love Jennifer Garner so I knew I'd like Catch and Release. My latest rotation is the Get Ready for Summer, May 07 rotation. This is the circuit rotation I had but it's with older workouts:

About GH - I don't get this Jerry storyline. Did he have his face changed or something? Wouldn't Alexis know him? I find this very strange and I think I missed something. People in PC met Jerry but no one seems to recognize him. I know another character played Jerry way back when and looked a lot different so I'm thinking he had his face changed? I'm sick of the baby storyline. It's stupid.

I hope you all have a great Mother's Day!

Lora,

I'm so sorry you are having problems. My daughter and my daughter in law both had sinus surgery and they came out of it very well. Neither one of them have the problems they use to have. Perhaps seeing a different doctor about it and being assured that this could be for you.

Anyway just wanted you to know, I feel for you, and hope you find some comfort soon.

Will be working outside again today. Found a few more plants have died this Winter. Need to replace them. Also will be digging up a lilac and giving it a new home. It's not doing very well where it is.

Will be planting pansies and some herbs today as soon as the weather gets just a little warmer outside.

Michelle, it's great when you know to slack off a bit before you hurt yourself.

Diane Sue, do enjoy your rest day with your family.

Debbie, looks like you had a great w/o as usual. Does CC get boring at all? Just wondering, I'm thinking about purchasing a couple.

Everyone else have a great Mother's day with your family/friends.

I'm doing a 30 min. cardio and a full body w/o today, before I do my gardening.

Janie - Cardio Coach workouts are so fun I can't even explain. They are the best things for treadmills and other cardio machines. I'm just getting burned out on them, I think. I'm looking forward to the newest release. I hope it gets done soon.

I just got home from ER all day with my Mom. She fell last night in the yard - playing ball with the neighbor boy (she's 78) and didn't call me last night. Her friend told her she didn't need to go to ER, but she couldn't walk. She called me at 9:45 this morning and told me what happened and my DH and I took her to ER. She fractured her pelvis in 2 places. She was at ER until Noon and got in her room around 1 or 2 and it's now 5 and they haven't even gotten orders from the doctor - so she's not allowed to have water, pain medication or anything yet. I'm so upset. What a way to spend Mother's day. My Mom has always been very independent as my father died when she was my age and she never remarried. I felt so bad when she said she had to go to the bathroom and she wasn't allowed to cuz she's not allowed to move!! I'm never going to be able to sleep tonight. I feel so helpless. I wish I could fix this all for her!

Needless to say, I don't think I'll have time to search for a rotation tonight....have lots to do to take care of for Mom.

Janie - thanks for the concern over my sinus issues. I appreciate it.

Deb - thanks for posting the Circuit rotation....I'll have to look at it when I have time and see if I can sub some of the newer ones in there, but right now I've got too much going on.

Michelle - how easy of a yoga DVD are you looking for? A restorative only one? or something that's got a bit of effort/bit of stretch or something that's basically tougher, but leaves you feeling stretched from head to toe? It would depend on what you want. I have been doing Classical Stretch DVDs at night and I just did an excellent one last night. I got it on Amazon and it's called Classical Stretch Full Body Workout & Intense Athletic Stretch. The stretch segment is based purely for athletes and is 1/2 hour and then she does an additional 15 min for the groin, hips and hamstrings since athletes need that. If you want to read about them www.ClassicalStretch.com. I'll let you know about the yoga after you answer.

It has been a pleasant day. The weather has been beautiful here. My grandchildren played in the water outside:) I came home from church and my dh had bought me an easy curl bar and some new Nike weightlifting gloves. I received gift cards from my children for Academy Sports. I got a 9# body bar to use with the Kimberly Spreen workout. They had 9# and then jumped to 15#. I need to make up my mind what else I would like. I want a bosu, a HR monitor, and I really would like to get a bag for Amy's Kickbox Extreme and Cathe's new one when it is done. I can't get it all so I have to think about it:)

Lora, I am so sorry to hear about your mother. I hope she will be alright. That is terrible. When is the doctor going to check on her? I will be praying for her. I will go check your pm.

Diane Sue - I took 2 Ambien and Calms forte and still can't sleep. I'm up and hungry with lots of stuff do do in the AM. Gonna try some sleep oil now. I just spoke with the Nurse cuz it's too late to talk to my Mom. I wanted to make sure my Mom gets some sleep tonight, as she didn't really sleep last night with it just happening at 6:30 pm.....I know my mom won't ask for anything....but I told the nurse to check on her.

guess i better try again to sleep or I won't be able to workout if I sleep too late.

Which kind of low fat or reduced calorie dresing is good on the SW Salad from mcd's??

What kind of bag is needed for amy's and Cathe's workouts. If you find them, how much are they -- as I want one. All I have is a regular heavy bag and that's not what they use -- is it?

Lora, this is the type of Bag they use on Amy's Kickbox Extreme. I do not know what Cathe will use on hers. http://www.fwonline.com/wmd.htm
The Macdonalds SW salad has a fairly low fat dressing. It is Newman's Own Creamy South West Salad dressing. 100 calories, 6 gm fat 340 sodium. The salad w/out the chicken is 200 calories 13 grams of fat. If I were to put my own dressing I would mix salsa or pico de gallo with fat free ranch. I hope you get some rest tonight. It sounds like you will need your strength in the morning for your mother.
