HARDCORE FITNESS MANIACS MON 3-15

I am back at it after two weeks off. Even last night I wasn't looking too forward to it. It's funny how easily you can get use to not working out. I enjoyed my time off. Once I got up and drank my protein shake, I was ready to go and I had an excellent workout.

I made up my own rotation using Cathe's STS Weight Training System and Gym Style workouts, posted it yesterday on the rotation forum. It's a leg blast rotation and I plan on doing a heavy day for legs and a high rep for legs each week. I need to do something to shock these flabby things into shape. Hope my hip flexor deals with it ok. We shall see...

Today was Meso 2, Week 1, Disc 13 - Chest, Shoulders and Triceps. Wend fairly light today to get use to lifting again. I know I'm going to be in pain tomorrow if not later on today!

Debbie- Way to rock 1st day out of the gates :D That rotation you put together looks pretty good, I may need to check that out. I'm trying my new rotation this week so we shall see.

Forced rest day for me. Had an early morning doctor appt and then I work 1-9. I did Yoga to the Rescue for Neck & Shoulders 30".

Somebody please help, I am going crazy. Due to some lingering cold symptoms I am not ready to return to Insanity. I can't lift weights due to my hand. I wasn't in the mood to do travel fit again. So what lefts ...aerobics , and I can't even really do kickboxing as it bothers my shoulders. I so did not want to workout today as there was nothing in my workout room that I wanted to do. Everything I wanted to do I can't do!:mad::mad::mad:

Ugh! I went to the hand specialist this morning and I have ANOTHER 3 weeks!

Okay sorry, rant over. I did manage to finally do Turbo Jam Fat Blaster.
 
Linda-that would be very frustrating. Could you choose another weight video and sub band work? Also Muscle and Fitness hers has 3 band circuit routines in this month's mag. If you don't get that one, I could jot it down and forward it to you. Just let me know :D

It's good that you are listening to the doc though, otherwise your recovery time could be WAY longer.

Linda - I'm so sorry to hear this, I know how frustrating it is. I'm going to suggest something but I doubt you'll like it.

Take the next two weeks off. Seriously. It will help you immensley with all your ailments. Two weeks is nothing, I did it and was able to lift just about as heavy as I usually would this morning, I was just holding back for fear of DOMS tomorrow. My knee doesn't hurt anymore, my shoulder doesn't hurt anymore and I no longer have knots in my upper back. I feel completely rejuvinated and I do not regret one second of my time off.

I know you don't want to hear it and probably won't do it, but that's my suggestion. {{{HUGS}}}

You know what: Here's the link to the band circuit work. There are two seperate routines, both of which alternate band work w/ cardio bursts.

Debbie - I just might take that suggestion. Since I can't do Insanity right now all I want to do is go down and pump some iron and I am so mad that I can't. Other than that I've been thinking what the hell to the intense workouts matter when I can't even get my eating under control!

Well, maybe you just need a couple weeks off to regroup and heal. I think you are donig more damage to yourself while you keep trying to workout and that's obvious with your hand and shoulder.

Just take a step back, breath and relax. I seriously think you need the break. And I know what you mean about your eating, I've been the same way. But now that I've had a couple weeks to just chill, I'm ready to get back at it with clean eating and my workouts. I feel like a new person.
 
I started my workout a little late this morning because I was busy getting my Avast Professional anti virus installed and up working. I forgot it was Spring Break so have 2 of my grandchildren here. We went to the store to get some lunch items for them and me some more fresh veggies.
My workout was STS disc 28 Chest and back 65 minutes, & 373 calories.
Then I did Kelly's 30 minutes to Fitness Plyo Blast 37 minutes, 313 calories, & 162 Max HR. I finished with Tony's One on One Patience Hummingbird Yoga 34 minutes 136 calories. Total calories burned was 822.

Linda, so sorry you are having a hard time with the workouts. Do you have Turbo Jam 3 T?? I have Tony's one on one road arrior tubing workout which is a good one.

Lora, sometimes a forced rest can be good. I am sure you will make it up tomorrow.
 
Linda, I agree with everyone else on the rest suggestion; it does sound like your body needs it to heal! I think if it were me I'd probably take some extra walks or something, just so I wouldn't feel sedentary, and other than that maybe use the extra time for something else...for me it would be dissertation, cross stitch, reading, or video games. =)

Just finished my workout...the back, biceps, triceps premix from Amy's All Pump Xtreme, and the abs from Tracey's High Intensity Step Mix 2 (a short ab bit...not much time!)
