Cathlete
This morning I plan on doing cardio and abs. Could use some foam roller too. We won't be able to move into our house till June now so will be staying with our dd for a few weeks. This will sure alter what I do for exercise. I think I can do some kettlebell and tubing workouts there. We will be getting our first Pod today and starting to load boxes into it. Hopefully it doesn't keep raining. It rained hard last night. Oh, I don't know if I mentioned that the first place we were going to buy had a problem with the roof bowing. We are buying a different one that is a similar floorplan but no spiral staircase and a couple of other differences.

Good morning. Let's just say I had a terrible night last night and everything got screwed up again, including my DVD player :( So I will be using the Playstation in a few minutes, doing Lean 2, some cardio and abs. I will plan on doing Legs and Glutes tomorrow I believe. OK, off to get this all done before something else screws up my plans!!

DS- wow, it sounds like the last few weeks have been crazy for you! June will be here soon enough. What made you decide to sell your home and move?

Diane Sue - Congrats on selling your home and buying a new one! It took a year for my father inlaw's house to sell. How are your dogs coping?

WE just went from direct TV to cable and I am experimenting with the exercise on demand. I may do Jillian Michaels boost your metabolism workout today.

Have a great day every one!

Morning Maniacs -

This morning I did David Kirsch's 7 Day Rx Bootcamp followed by Tracy Mallet's QuickBlast Cardio/Wts. I finished with a couple sets of KB Swings, around the body passes, hot potatoes and cleans with my 30-35 lb KBs. Workout was 65" and I burned 529 calories.

I work 1-9 today....so I'll be getting ready to leave for the day soon. Have great workouts or rest days everyone.

DianeSue - Sorry for the moving troubles. But I too along with Meg, am wondering why you are moving anyway. I now it started with a job change, but that didn't happen, so now I am lost.

Meg- I hate days like that! Hope it gets better.

Well I had one of those mornings where not matter what I did my HR just would not go up. I did 4DS HIS & LIS cardio. And from trying to get my HR up I feel like I worked my butt off, but my HRM says otherwise. Workout was 1 hour and I only burned 423 calories. WTH? Why does this happen?

Have a wedding this afternoon and DS is ring bearer and DD the flower girl, so lots to do....

Have a great weekend!

Linda - maybe you are tired?? or maybe you're just in such good shape that you have to work harder and harder to get your HR up.

Ally...we have On Demand. It's cool to experience different workouts.

Linda - or maybe you're just in such good shape that you have to work harder and harder to get your HR up.

Linda...my money's on what Lorajeanne said. Have fun at the wedding!

DS...sorry for all the "moving" troubles.

Today I will be doing legs....might throw in some ab work.

Going to help out for a bit at a Relay For Life to support my girlfriend who was diagnosed with cancer. We've been friends since the 7th grade so it's tough. But she is doing well. Has a great outlook! Then we are going to a place called Winners to bet on the ponies. DH won on the Kentucky Derby as he bet on MineThat Bird. I'm bettin' on the filly today in the Preakness.

My father is in the hospital. He fell. Dr. think he tore ligament in knee and gastrocnemius. Waiting for results of MRI and what the specialist will decide to do.

Hope eveyone has a great Saturday!

Diane Sue, The Joy's of selling and buying a home. Not fun, granted, but June is just around the corner. Hang in there.

Megadoo, Hope your troubles melt away so you can get back into exercises you plan. Looks like you had a great workout even if it wasn't planned as well.

Ally, How fun, I still don't have that. Let us know how you like it.

Lora, Still on David Kirsch, it must be fantastic. Good job with the kettlebells. Enjoy your day.

Linda, Maybe there is something wrong with your HR device. Perhaps it needs a new battery? Another way to come close to your HR without a device is just multiply the time you spent on the exercise by 1 to 10 ( 10 as the highest effort) if you are doing ab work multiply it by 3, a less effort by far, but will get you in the ball park anyway. Anything else in-between would be walking fast, swimming...and how much effort you spend on it and how long you exert yourself. Believe it or not it seems to work for me, you just have to figure out your exertion effort. Hope that helps in a pinch.

Debbie, Hope things are OK with you. Thinking of you. Prayers again your way.

Will be doing 4DS this week. Let you know how it goes later.

My workout is done. I did Amy Bento's Kickbox Surge and burned 624 calories. Max HR was 160 which is good for me as mine does not get that high very often no matter how hard I push. Then I did STS weights and plates abs and Lawrence Biscontini foam roller the first 37 minutes. I stopped with the foam roller after the segment that really hits the itband and outer thighs and glutes. This one always brings tears but I feel good when I am done.

Linda, on the foam roller exercise for carpal tunnel you sit with your legs crossed and do the side stretch leaning over to one side with your arm overhead and other arm on the foam roller and roll out. You turn your arm at different angles to hit different areas. Then you turn your roller diagaonally and do the same getting a little mor stretch in the overhead arm and lat area. Hope this helps. I have learned how to do some great moves from this workout and think it was worth the purchase. If it didn't cost so much I would really recommend it just for learning the moves. As far as a workout I do not look forward to it that much.

For those who are wondering about the moving. We put our house up for sale because we were thinking of relocating for the job and know a lot of people that have been trying to sell for over a year. Anyway we did good and got what we were wanting for it and it sold really quick. LOL it must have looked pretty good because we had a lot of people look at it. Drove me nuts.
We had been wanting to downsize anyway for a smaller yard that took less work. I just don't have the hours it takes to upkeep here. Also the home we are buying is really close to the family so driving time is shortened. There is still a chance that we may move further away but if that happens we may just rent out the condo and get another home. Also there is a job opportunity close that would be great. So no matter what we are doing great and this is just another step. Now downsizing all of my stuff is another story LOL

I forgot to mention that I hurt my toes on my right foot carrying a bucket of aquarium gravel to the garage because it was getting ready to storm. Toes still hurt today:( It was one of those big Home Depot buckets.

Hi girls! I sort of disappeared this week- totally overdid the cardio on my rest week and strained some tendons. How stupid am I? DH and I didn't even continue with Meso 2- we both ended up taking off Wednesday through Friday. Honestly, I needed the sleep! My eating was waaaaaay off too- really terrible. And I hate how I feel when I do that- never worth it, but I still manage to screw it up from time to time. Le sigh. Where would I be without my food issues?? :)

Anyway, onward! I did Kimberly Spreen's Cardio Camp today- the hi/lo kickbox portion, not the leg work. It was so much fun and very easy to learn. I didn't even preview it. It was a bit lower impact but I was still a sweaty mess when I was finished. I need to learn that I don't always have to jump and generally kill myself for 90 minutes to get in a good workout. I must remember the risk of burnout and injury. Hard lessons for me. I may do some abs later- feeling C&W abs, my favorite.

Have a great day everyone!

Ally: I have that Jillian DVD- Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism. It is NOT a joke! It's a great cardio workout- not one I want to do all the time, but definitely a keeper.

Sonya: Sorry to hear about your dad- hopefully it is nothing too serious and he will be up and around again soon.

Diane Sue: Ugh, moving issues! Careful you don't really injure that foot with loading the pod today.

Linda: You are probably too fit! :p Seriously, I notice that a year ago it was much easier to get my HR to spike than it is now. I'm sure it is due to your fitness level. I haven't even been wearing my HR monitor lately- the numbers game was kind of irritating me. Have fun at the wedding and how cute that the kids are both in it.

Gotta run, lots to do today.

Sonya, must have posted at the same time. I'm so sorry about your girlfriend. Positive attitude is a must. Have fun at the races, my grandfather used to enjoy them as well. Hang in there with your Dad. Poor guy. Let us know what happens.

Patti, A foam roller will help with the tendons. But very gently. It's OK to go off the eating, you simply have to sometimes. The going back to work on yourself is the important thing here. Good for you. I think most people have food issues anyway, for me you are very inspiring, you may hit a weak moment, but you are right back on track soon after. Yeah! Great workout today. Glad you remembered your lesson from before.

Diane Sue, Hope your toes feel better soon. Glad you didn't break them. (ouch!)

Did 4DS with high intensity step (whew) and back and chest weight workout. Burned about 472 calories and made a fantastic nutrient rich drink. It was also our lunch for the day.

Take care everyone,

Janie

So far I have had a really nice day. I did Lean Circuit 2, BM2 all cardio (whew!) and some abs. Very good workout. THen I did a little housework, and layed out on my new swing in the sun for about an hour. Then watched a few episodes of Lost, and now just chillin!
Tomorrow I hope to do Legs and Glutes, and Tracey's Core conditioning. Hopefully, but now we might be going to a party at two, so I better not dilly dally like I usually do on Sunday mornings.

Sonya, that is great of you to help out today. I wish your friend and your dad the best.

DS, even with the stress, it must be so exciting to move into another home. Thanks for the explanation lol!

Patti- good for you for taking a few days off. Don't feel bad, i am about to have some pizza! I have been craving it for WEEKS!
