Getting out of the rut - Monday

Cathlete
Good morning all! Well, the scale has finally reflected the just a little bit of the work I have been doing to try to lose weight. Finally some movement in the right direction!!

Melissa - you asked about my cross-stitch project. I am finishing up a project called "GRITS" stands for Girl Raised in the South. I am almost finished with it. Just have the bottom of the border to do. My next project I hope to start is an Antique basket sampler. I have been wanting to work on that for a couple of years now, and I hope to start it in the next week or two. I hope to hang it in my living room when I get it finished. I have a lot of things I would like to get done this year, but I'm not sure if I will be able to or not. Just got to take it one project at a time. I highly recommend getting back into it. It is definitely calming and relaxing!!

This afternoon I have to do Hiit, pyramid. That is a hard one, better than 40/20 but difficult none the less. If I can just keep my eating on track I will be at my goal weight in no time!!

Good Morning !

Today I went back to the doc. Last month she had to double my blood pressure med's. My blood pressure was back to normal and I somehow was able to lose 2# in a month. I would like to lose 4 but I'll take 2. My problem is controlling my eating.

I'll be doing my normal cardio coach and weight training tonight.

It's rainy and gloomy today.

Another Good morning to all!

So I think we are going into our second week of getting "out of our ruts"' aren't we? This has been such a wonderful help to me!

Today I'll be doing the Physique97 Classic workout and then adding the upper body work from Muscle Max. That should just about do me in for the day.

I am so happy... I lost 1.5 lbs. this week! It took me almost 6 months to lose 8 lbs. so it was great to see that drop on the scale this morning. I got such good advice here on the Cathe forums to change up my workouts and it seems to be working!

I hope everyone has a productive day!

Good morning, everybody! I did Tracey Staehle's Cardio Kickbox Challenge today. It's a new workout and I'm still learning it, but glad that I dragged myself out of bed to do it at 5:05 (after staying up too late to watch the Olympics).

Happy Monday!

And I truly am happy...was able to get my butt out of bed and knock-out STS Disc1. (All with the help of my 4yo DS) Yes, he woke up at 5am right along with me just to correct my form! He kept reminding me that Cathe said, "now you can put your mat away."
I can laugh about it now but it sure wasn't funny then. :p

Fiddy- I'm right there with you on the HBP. Been struggling with it since after my first pregnancy. Over 8 years now. So frustrating! Glad to hear yours in looking good.

I'm feeling great today. Hope you all have a wonderful day! Thanks for this outlet!!

I had a rough weekend and kind of lost control over my eating yesterday. I ate probably over half a box of Kashi Autumn Wheat cereal. I am just so glad that my drug of choice was not a 1/2 gallon of ice cream. a bag or m&m's or half a bag of oreos. I least I choose something kinda healthy.

Was disappointed that I didn't seem any closer to fitting into some of my clothes than before I started. Guess maybe I have to start count calories which I really dread doing. Makes my too nuts!:confused::confused:

Anyway I did Insanity Cardio Power & Resistance this morning.

Linda- counting calories makes me nuts too! It truly is the only thing that works for me though. grrr. In our house we fight over kashi cinnamon harvest. I've had that for dessert on many occasions. Like you said, at least you're making good choices. It's a great direction. And your workouts are fantastic. Someone said here recently, when you mess-up you're only three hours away from your next chance to make it up with a good choice. That really stuck with me.
I hope today treats you well.

Hi!

Well today was an active rest day, I shoveled about 7" of snow, I live in a suburb of Detroit and that took about an hour. I love shoveling snow, I kind of meditate and get lost in thoughts I'm glad that this is only the third time I've had to do it.

Maybe later on I'll do Strech Max, I'll have to see.

Have a great day!

Hi ladies.

Linda, I had a little meltdown over the weekend too. Saturday was a planned cheat day and was right back on track Sunday until the evening. Then I found the hershey kisses and oatmeal cookies. Back to the drawing board. So far so good today.

Cheryl, I rarely shovel snow. That's DH's job. Of course, the second shovelable snow we had this year was a weekend he was away. I guess we are supposed to get your storm here this evening, but overnight it's supposed to turn to rain. Hope so, for the morning commute.

Wendy, my, you are perky today. LOL at your little trainer.

Sammy, fiddy, Sallie, great the the scale is going your way! Mine is up and down and up and up. Sigh.

Kathryn, I wish I was up late watching the Olympics. We are having TV problems and I haven't seen a lick of them.

Today is a rest day for me. Now if only I can stay on track with my diet.

Good afternoon girls,

This morning I did S&H Biceps and Athletic Step. I have been pretty consistent with my workouts. I wish I could be as good with my eating. I am a lifetime member of WW so I still count points but my workouts make me soooo hungry that I have to be really careful not to eat too much b/c of them.

ImFiddY-I live in GA as well, Alpharetta actually. Where do you live? Glad you were able to get your bp med adjusted down. That's a step in the right direction. ;)

Pearlstrand-I still have your Pure Strength DVD. If you PM me your address I will mail it to you.

Happy for those that have seen results on the scale. I hope to follow.

Wendy -Thanks! Cinnamon Harvest is my all time favorite, therefore I cannot have it the house. I will literally inhale the whole dang box. The really good thing is I have all that junk I mentioned in my house and I stayed away from it!:D:D:D

Robin - Can't believe you haven't gotten see any of the olympics. Those people are so inspiring ( and nuts!). And I agree, we just have to let the cheat go and get right back on track. Something I haven't been very good with lately!

I injured my hand three weeks ago while nothing was broken the swelling hasn't gone down. So I just returned from the specialist and I have a torn ligament and he said no weights for the next three weeks.:(:(:(:(:(

I'm so glad to see everyone doing so well with their workouts and pretty well with their eating too.

Unfortunately, I haven't gotten in a workout for the last two days. One of my kids' birthdays was yesterday, and today was just too busy and crazy with meetings, etc. Eating wasn't great either, with birthday treats yesterday. Oh well, tomorrow is another day, right?

edit: Linda, so sorry to hear about your hand! I have been in that situation and it is no fun. Hope it heals quickly!

Actually, Debbie and I are practically neighbors. (Debbie, I'll PM you...)

Yeah, it's rainy and gloomy, but at least our drought is over and it's not 19 degrees! Spring is on the way -- not a moment too soon for me!

I am WINDED! Just finished Hiit Pyramid. I did way better on it than I did the first time around, but still not as good as Cathe and the gang! Gives me something to work toward. I have done well on my eating today. I am pleased with that. However, I need to do well more than one day in a row! Tomorrow is another day! Have a good evening!

Sallie

I did my workout (P57 Classic) but decided against the MM arms. Next time I will leave off the P57 arms and just do the MM upper body.

I think I like this dvd except that I modify so many moves and take so many breaks that when finished I feel like I didn't get a great workout. But I'm too tired to do anything else. And I don't want to lose everything I have gained using MM.

I think I'm going to take a walk so that I at least get something else in.

Tomorrow then.

Good Evening!

I am trying not to beat up on myself too much tonight because I ate terribly at dinner! Today was my DS 13th bday and he wanted to go to Dave & Buster's for dinner. I had excellent plans about picking a healthy meal...didn't happen. Potato skins, tortilla chips, and a chicken philly sandwich is what I ended up with! The good thing though was that I didn't eat nearly as much as I would have normally eaten. I did have a small sliver of chocolate cake too. I am trying to be ok with this...there are going to be times when I don't stick exactly to my plan, right? This is the first time since getting back on track in January that I have gone this wrong.

I got up this morning and did the cardio only from Low Impact Circuit. I love the step routines on that one! I was planning on doing Disc 10 this evening but I got home so much later than I expected that I think I will just put it off until tomorrow.

Now I need to go figure out my points for dinner. I probably won't be able to eat the rest of the week! Lol. There are always activity points! Have a great evening!
