Good morning chickas :)


Today I almost didn't get up to workout! DH and I were up late last night watching Casino Royale. I usually go to bed at 9:30, last night got to bed at 10:30! I slept an extra hour, and was only able to do a 30 min. yoga practice today (from living arts: flexability). I wanted to do an hour practice. Oh well. Yoga is not my favorite, and its hard for me to get motivated.

Gin~ Sorry about the dress. You have plenty of time though, I''m sure you'll find something.

Marcy~ Sorry beachbody didn't have your order!!:( What yoga did you do today?

Hi Girls!

I slept a little better last night. Still got up at 2 am but was able to get back to sleep faster. I did Eoin Finn's Power Yoga for Happiness - Magically Bliss Hips (one of my faves). Definitely helped the hamstrings and hip flexors. Did the following pose:

not quite as good as this. Couldn't extend my back leg yet. I took my measurements this morning and I'm happy:

Waist - 23" (lost 1/2"):)
Under chest - 26"; across - 28 1/2"
L thigh - 17 7/8" (lost 1/8") R thigh - 18" (same)
Inner thighs - 18" (lost 1/4"):)
Biceps - 10 1/2" (lost 1")
Hips - 33 1/2" (lost 1"):) :p

I forgot to check my weight but I'm pretty sure it's within a pound. I'm actually happier saying I lost inches instead of pounds. I don't know if I'll ever get down to 120 and right now I really don't care.

I also attempted Mindy Mylrea's All About Abs - Stability Ball section. I never felt like such a klutz. She's a real challenge. I think I'm going to push ARX aside and concentrate on this DVD. There are 4 workouts - medicine ball, stability ball, body weight and sliding discs. She did pikes with pushup on ball, sit ups with ball, pike on ball and lifting leg in air (never did this before); while in crunch position on ball lift your leg. Then she did some crazy move where you lie on your back on the ball with legs wide and rotate onto your stomach (I was scratching my head a little on this one but kind of did it right). She also did hi and under pushups (like in P90x) but with the ball between your legs (much harder). I did the body weight workout about a month ago and that one was hard too. I also think I need some air in my ball. I was flopping all over the place this morning.

Gin - At least you started early looking for a dress. Are all the spring styles out yet? Do you have a David's Bridal by you? I can't wait to see your needlepoint pictures. I'm sure they're beautiful. BM2 cardio definitely has the intensity of IMAX for me. I think I might have burned in the 500s on that premix.

Deanie - Sounds like you need some new kind of yoga to get you out of the yoga rut but I don't want to mention anything since you've bought so much new stuff lately. I hate to enable! ;-)

Hey Marcy~ Great measurements! I wouldn't worry at all about what the scale says, you are small:) I need to find my tape measure and measure me. My cords today are definately looser! I'm glad you slept better last night, between the yoga and the heavy weights, you think you'd sleep great!LOL Moving is a really stressful time, and that might be playing into it. You are probably right about the yoga and needing something new, and the dvd you suggested last week did look good (checked out collage) but right now I think I am going to wait for STS, listen to what results others (or you if you get it) have had from P90X+ and just buy them. (STS first though) I think I would like to do the X again as is before I buy the +...Hope that makes sense:) Also, do you have DOMs today? I do in my biceps! Its been awhile since I've had DOMs the next day.

Gin~ Looking foward to seeing your needlepoint! What workout did you do today?

Thanks! I forget which DVD I mentioned last week but the one I did today (Power Yoga for Happiness) is really great for the money - 5 workouts on 2 DVDs. I got it off ebay which was a miracle because it's the only one I've ever seen on there in over a year. I just got lucky. But I'm sure you could get it off his site - http://www.eoinfinnyoga.com/index.php.

I can't believe there are more pushups that we haven't done yet. I like the fact that the workouts are a little shorter. I might not have as much time to workout in the mornings when I move so a short, effective workout works great for me. The ab workouts seem really interesting.

Deanie - Forgot to mention - yes, I do have DOMS in my biceps. I can't believe I lost an inch on them but I like the way they look so I'm not complaining. So do you think the Phase 2 workouts are harder than Phase 1?

Marcy~ I do think the phase 2 workouts are harder!}( I think working the muscle groups that are grouped together for phase 2 make it harder. Does that make sense???LOL Yes, the yoga dvd you did today is the one you recommened. It did look good, and I liked that you could mix and match and make your own practice. The reviews for the X+ look good, and I really like the functional fitness type workouts. When I read about the plus, I really want them, I get all caught up in the hype! But really I want to finish the regular X once or twice before I order. There is no coupon or discount, so I don't see why I need them now. I wish someone had answered your question about pushups. I can't imagine what more kinds (woah! bad engish- sorryx( ) there are!!!!! Maybe it should say: how many more kinds! Yes, that's better!!!LOL:7 :7
PS- did you take before and after pictures? I never got to it to do before pictures.

I like the shorter workouts also. When you move, will you still be working?
 
Deanie~I never got to take pictures. I'll try and ask DH this weekend to take pictures. I will be working after I move. I might have to start earlier and also might have to leave earlier due to traffic. I was even thinking about (gulp!) joining a gym so I could get to the gym early and avoid traffic but I would hate the thought of having all my workouts sitting at home not getting done!

I still wonder about STS since it doesn't sound like a complete system is coming out all at once. I really need more details and fast! Maybe if more of us start asking again, she'll post some kind of update even if it isn't a lengthy one.

Good Afternoon Ladies!

Wow! I missed a lot of conversation today!;-) I woke up late (went to bed too late) and wasn't able to workout this morning because I had a dr's appt. (for my headaches) then ended up with a bad headache and now after taking med an hour ago, it's a little better. Whew...that was a lot of words! I AM going to do GS Legs right after I post though.
My doctor got some of my lab work back which showed that my hormone levels were very low and he says that is probably the cause of my headaches. He prescibed several different pills that I start taking tonight. Cross your fingers that this works!

Marcy--Tell me again when the move date is. You can not join a gym girl, with all of the dvds that you own!! What are you thinking??:eek: Your measurements sound great! I have not checked out David's Bridal. I know we have one somewhere in town. I'll have to find it.

Deanie--I'll try to send a pic of my needlepoint to you both. Has Cathe posted something recently about STS? I am anxious to know more. I know I have gained weight since going off of the pill (I know most lose weight) but the dr. did comment on my low pulse resting pulse rate.:)

Gin~Hope the new meds work! I should find something out tomorrow about my house. My buyer has a new buyer for her home which is promising. I'll feel much better when I know she has signed a contract. If it's an all cash deal on her end, she should close in about a month and then it will probably be about two months for us to close. I was hoping to get out of here before the winter ends. It was only 13 degrees this morning. Yuck! It's nice the dr. commented on your low pulse resting rate. I just saw the pics. LOVE the pillow! Was that a kit and where did you get it? Your ornaments look gorgeous! Hope you have a great workout.
