Good morning ladies...

Great workout yesterday. I am feeling the DOMS from Circuit Blast. Today I am going to do MMA Boxing and maybe some abs if I have time. Lauren has girls club after lunch and Chris has a doctor appointment (yearly checkup). Also, today is library day. Busy afternoon.....

The crockpot meal of chicken cordon bleu was a success last night. We all enjoyed it and has continued to spark my interest in more recipes. I was looking for some last night with beef. Maybe this weekend....

Hottie: Those are some long days. I wouldn't use a crock pot either. I was nervous leaving it for a couple hours yesterday while I took the kids to PE and stuff...

Chris: Glad you had a great workout. Did you get more snow?

Ok, time to get those kids out of bed. Be back later..

::yawn:: the thing I hate about my period is that despite being exhausted, I still manage to wake up before the alarm. At least I'm nearing the end of it. I have a tiny broken butt from yesterday's P57 workout, but I woke up with a headache that's not letting up because Evee feels the need to "talk" to the city workers right outside my house working on a pipeline REALLY LOUDLY. But I'm thinking about trying Circuit Blast if I can shake off this headache. In the meantime, catching up on Naruto while getting some housework done.

Kathy -- now you make mew want to do MMA Boxing! I think that's my fav or the MMA part of the Shock Cardio series. It sounds like a busy day! Hope you get everything you want done!

Good morning! How crazy is this? I'm posting from the computer lab at the kids' school, waiting to help with lab. We had no internet at home again this morning!!

Kathy, did you go heavy with the weights for circuit blast?

Hottie, while I'm thinking about it.... did you ever see my post about the HeLa cells? I want to read the new book that's out about her life -- the interview with the author was fascinating!

Joanne, this is for you.... ;) I did Tonique 2 disc 2 this morning -- Chris, there is some kickboxing in it! :D It was sort of a strange workout -- they messed up the warmup and didn't put it on the discs, I think. I don't know that for sure, but instead of the warmup they do the cooldown, which is a really strange stretch. Then at the end they forget to put the stretch! So, it just sort of ended. It was tough -- I had to pause many times, but I felt really good afterward. I think I liked the first one better.

I have the crock pot going again today. Let's not talk about being nervous about leaving it on, because we won't be home for many many hours..... since we have piano lessons on Thursday and don't get home until about 5:00, I'd really like to make it be a crock pot day, if I can manage. Kind of tough getting it set up in the morning on top of making lunches, breakfasts, etc.! The pork recipe I did the other day was from that finessista.com site -- I think that's how she spells it. I'm doing a chicken one from that site today.

Better sign off before the munchkins come in.....

Hey girls!!

Oh my gosh, what a crappy icky weather week here! Yesterday, 6 inches of WET heavy snow, today, it's POURING rain!! So all that snow is turning into slush puppies everywhere. And I get to go grocery shopping. I'd go tomorrow, BUT, it's supposed to turn to snow/ice tonight, so who knows if there'll be school tomorrow or perhaps a delay??? FACK!

Got a KICKASS workout done this morning. I did CTX 10-10-10. It's so funny, I think that Cathe's older workouts won't be as tough as her recent ones (like STS Cardios and her recent steps), but they kick BUTT! I was dying at the end of 10-10-10!!! And THEN, I did Leaner Legs! All I can think of, "WIll she ever give a break?". She just keeps going on that one, I was covered in sweat! .... Tough workouts!! But I feel so good I got them done!

Kathy: YAY for DOMS from CB!! Yes, it does sound like a busy day there!! It's gonna fly by though. I always/usually do a crockpot meal every Saturday. This Saturday I'm doing Pizza in a Bowl. :)

Hottie: Maybe a good workout would loosen up the broken butt and headache? Yep, Alex taped the new Naruto last night, he'll watch it later!

Hey Joanne and Beth!!!!

Gotta run. Zach is half day today (for parent teacher conferences that I never got an appt for) so he'll be home in 30 minutes! And he has an eye appt this afternoon, and then papers. But I think Greg is taking him. I have to do shopping. Which I totally DREAD!!!!!!

Wow, everyone must be really busy today! So I did CB, walked Evee for 0.6 mi, scavenged for her poop (tomorrow is trash day), and did the finished combo from AS and it's stretch as well. Beth, you may be practicing Step Moves but I keep on practicing AS for the RT because she threw that pendulum, shuffle, lunge, power 15 thing when I went to the class in Jersey. I felt pretty good after though I decided that I'm really going to have to find a med ball that's less than 10lbs -- 10lbs is too much on CB for me! Oh, I did it with only three risers because I wasn't sure how my legs would handle it. I think it was a good choice. And I've decided that my left butt cheek is more broken than my right one.

Beth --I briefly saw the post about the HeLa cells. So, HeLa cells don't contaminate my stuff for two reasons. One, most of my contaminants are either bacterial or mold. The bacteria comes from the fact that I work with both yeast and bacteria on the same bench and I don't get to have two stations to separate my work. So, when I'm working on both systems at the same time, yeah...bacteria gets into my stuff. I try really hard to make one day bacterial and another day yeast but I don't always get afforded that luxury. The mold comes in through the vents though which is the real offender. The lab next to us has some special extremophile mold that grows in their cold room (4 degrees) and we all share the same air circulation. It's disgusting and they won't call safety to do a huge decontaminant because it would shut them down for a couple days (they work like 50% of what we do so I don't get what the problem is). I'm in the room that's next to this mold cold room too so I get it worse then rooms further away. The second reason Hela doesn't get in my way is because we have a separate cell culture room where all the equipment and all the reagents never leave that area. It's actually more to protect them from us than the other way around but it certainly makes it easier. So their hela contaminations are localized to that room (which does happen). Oh that was so much longer than intended. Sorry for the slow cooker scares! You know -- when Joe used to work three blocks away from work, i would put everything in the pot the night before, stick it in the refrigerator, and then Joe would come home for lunch/afternoon break, pull it out to warm it to room temp and then stuck it in the slow cooker per my instructions. you can't do that with every recipe but it cuts down on time in the AM.

Chris -- sounds like you got a great workout! There were TWO episodes last night so I hope Alex got both of them. I'm getting a little impatient...I've been waiting for the Kakashi fight for a couple episodes now but it seems like they are going to stretch this out for an entire season (as it characteristic of anime). I don't think I'm going to see Kakashi battle for another 5 episodes at this rate...sigh. I'm sure alex is suffering with me because we have yet to see Naruto act like anything other than the annoying impatient brat that he can be either. Why do you hate shopping? I probably have asked that before. I actually thinking how I miss shopping because I mostly have no time to really enjoy it anymore. I don't think i've had milk in my refrigerator since I've come back to NJ -- that's how bad!

Ok, going to take a small walk!

OMG - what a freaking crazy day at work here. And it's not going to let up for the next two weeks until this big meeting is over. But, I had to stop in and talk with my buddies!

Hottie, great workout!! I did read your post from last night. Thanks for sharing all that about the counseling. Very interesting. I had more to tell you but am now drawing a blank!! What's this Naruto you guys are talking about? I wonder if my boys would like it.

Chris, oh, I hate that wet heavy snow. Ick! Then it turns to ice. No fun. Waaa - I want spring!! I know - Cathe's older workouts are TOUGH! I'm already dreading L(M)eaner Legs next weeks and thinking of excuse to sub. ;) Mmmm, pizza in a bowl. I did a lasagna crock pot recipe a few years ago that was really good.

Beth, I'm nervous about leaving a crock pot, too. Although DH is home during the day, so it's not really an issue for us. I would be so easy to put something together for him to turn on later in the day. So, Tonique2 was "easier" than 1? I know, just try it, right?! :) I will, maybe I'll sub for Leaner Legs day next week. ;)

Kathy, thanks for the chicken cordon bleu recipe yesterday. It's a rare dinner that everyone in our family actually likes. Very frustrating!

My legs are so sore from GL legs yesterday. They're getting worse the more I sit.

Oh, my workout today was kind of lame. GS Chest and Triceps was scheduled. I decided to just do the timesaver premix, since I think the whole thing is a bit overkill. I did all the chest, except the incline stuff. Got to the triceps and only did a couple exercises. My triceps are really sore from GS biceps, shoulders and back the other day - so I felt justified in skipping most of it. I know, excuses, excuses! I just wasn't into weights today. Then I did Kelly's 30-minutes to fitness Kickbox.

Back to work...ugh...

Joanne

Joanne -- your workout doesn't sound lame! It just sounds like you're listening to you body, right? And you did a KCM workout so that works too. :) I forget how old your sons are right now, but Naruto is a decent show for Alex's age. I know a couple of the big anime that has come from Japan to this country...I'm definitely not fans of all of them, but I have to say Naruto is definitely one I like. The basic idea is that these people live in a world where ninjas are awesome commodities in the world and they are focusing on these kids who are aspiring to become ninjas. They live in villages that basically act as ninja communities so they have competing ninja villages as well. Anyway, I guess it's a (INCREDIBLY LONG) coming of age story? The world is rather large for the target audience, there is definitely some people dying in battle (main characters as well) though they often remove the red ink in the American versions so it's not for kids who aren't ready for that, but what I LOVE LOVE LOVE about the story is that it shows that EVERYONE has to work hard to get what they want -- becoming an excellent ninja. I hate this thing where the main character is *special* so they will eclipse everyone else despite their hard work. In this show, the writer makes an EXTREME point that despite some being born with special abilities, without putting a lot of work on honing their skills, they will get nothing. So, the main character Naruto has undoubtedly the power to be one of the strongest ninja around but if he doesn't train and be disciplined, he ain't gonna be nothing. Or one of my other favorites -- Rock Lee -- had only the slightest bit of talent but he worked so hard and is so dedicated that he's something to be reckoned with (he and his teacher is a parody of bruce lee so it's funny for adults too). Women are powerful too in the series instead of being damsels in distress so I like that too. It's one of the bigger animes out there right now but I think your sons are older so they may be more into Bleach which I wouldn't necessarily say is *better* but is made for a more mature audience. Ok, so how badly did I geek myself up with this?!?!?! :)

I cannot let Hottie be the thread killer tonight! ;)

Joanne, what she said -- that workout wasn't lame at all!! Oh, and I wouldn't say either of the toniques are harder than the other -- just different. They both have (seemingly) endless reps.

Don't know what all that Naturo (or whatever) stuff is, but I do like what you said about it showing that everyone has to work hard. Excellent message!

Interesting about the hela cells (or lack thereof), and.... the mold!!! Sheesh, do you think that might be contributing to your health problems? Do you feel better when you stay completely away from the place? Yeeeesh!

Speaking of health problems.... my dr was so nice today. I went in really just for thyroid check -- should have been a quick appt., but I wanted her to refresh my memory on my lung situation (I have some issues) and she ended up spending so much time going over my whole chart with me, including (re)reading letters from specialists I've seen and whatnot. No trying to rush me out or anything.... she was so nice! And, the bottom line is that I'm probably ok. I totally "fail" the breathing tests all the time, and failed again today, a little worse than a couple of years ago. Just have to watch it I guess.

Waiting for Larry to come home so I can eat my yummy crock pot dinner. Lately Dylan is on a make his own pizza kick, so we did more of that tonight. He's so cute about it! I'd better go clean the kitchen up a little....

Oh, Hottie, my left butt is broken, too!
