Good Morning Girls. :)

I forgot to tell y'all that I didn't come home a winner but I DID come home breaking even. I didn't lose a dime so I'm happy! :) I was doing horribly at first but my luck started to slowly change for the better and by the final night I was hitting left n right! I could have easily come home a $300 winner but I was having so much fun playing that I wanted to keep going. I didn't care if I put the winnings back so long as I came home with all of the money I left with and I did just that! :D I admit an extra three would have been nice but then I would have either had to go to bed early or drink to pass the time. I didn't want to go to bed too early and didn't want to get drunk since we had to leave early the next morning to come home....

Speaking of drunk! This is pretty funny and you CABBERS will appreciate it! I drink daily when I go to AC. It's just part of the day. We usually have a couple of drinks before dinner and then sometimes will drink afterwards as well. Well, on Friday evening I had 2 strong chocolate martinis before dinner on a pretty empty stomach and then ordered a 3rd to take to dinner with me. I guess because I was sitting I didn't realize how the drinks had hit me. When we got to the restaraunt and I opened the menu, I couldn't read it. The words were swimming and dancing on the page! LOL I actually pushed that 3rd martini away and told Sal and my mom not to let me have it until I ate something. :p I never ended up drinking it but a few hours later we went to a bar to listen to a band play and I had 3 beers there. When I went to bed I wasn't drunk but woke up with a bit of a hangover and really thought I might hurl for a little while there. Thankfully the feeling only lasted a little while. :rolleyes: So what's the moral of my story? If you want to feel it fast, drink chocolate martinis in AC on an empty stomach and DON'T follow them up with beer!!! :D:D:D:D

Today's work out will be a run. I will bring my things to get it done right after work but I MAY decide to go at 4pm instead. Not sure yet. Depends on how I feel after work. I want to run 5 miles and right after work is not my most energetic moment in time so I may wait....I'll hafta see.

Wendy .. congrats .. hey if you come home w/any money you are a winner .. but breaking even is a PLUS .. my luck was like yours .. I could not hit anything the first day .. and slowly my luck changed ... DH's didn't though ... poor baby!! That is funny about the choc martinis .. YIKES .. I would not dare ... I am strictly a coors light girl .. but I drank a MANY of them down there!! :eek: never felt drunk b/c we kept going and walking we hit just about every casino down there .. so that probably helped .. plus I ate ... have to have a good meal in my tummy b-4 partaking in the CABS ;)

Well .. the stereo saga :( {{ sigh }} ... w/a PACKED to the gill class .. I get there .. and there was another stereo in place .. but it would not open the CD deck .. I could not get my w/o music CD's to load .. after a student said they wired it thru the TV not the stereo .. to my astonishment .. MY FREAKING portable DVD TV that I use for personal w/o that I BOUGHT and left there as a courtesy for my students ... they had wired the power thru the stereo into my little bitty tv .. and the sound was to come out of MY TV from a speaker the size of a half dollar (WTH) ... :mad::mad::mad: .. not only was I PISSED . . but I blew up .. and the owners are not there to fuss at or to tell them I WAS OUTTA THERE .. MY CLASS starts begging me to do anything (again I have to answer to my class not the owners or mngmt) .. I taught last night through my poor little portable tv .. I was so mad the w/o was TOUGH .. and I am sore. After class .. I talked the the girl behind the desk told her this was not acceptable .. the TV was not meant to be used that way .. nor can a teach my classes like that .. I not so nicely unhooked the disaster of wiring they did and took my TV home.. OMG .. words can not describe how pissed I was (and still am) :mad:!

SOOOOOOOOO .. today I am going at lunch and see if they have done anything (which I doubt they have) .. and hate to say this may be the end of my working for the new owners ... I hate to let my class down ..but it is one thing after another w/these people .. my car was messed w/in the parking lot 2 times ... the air is always broken (oh it was not on last night either and it was at leat 98 degrees in there) .. I have to ASK them to be paid ...the wife of the owner is a B### .. and has NO social or customer service tact AT ALL .. and this stereo system (after giving them TWO weeks to remedy) is the last straw!!! :mad::(

My DH says if it is not fixed for tonights class just dont go back .. period .. aaahhhh it is so frustrating b/c I love my class and I have students that have followed me all over town over all these years that have paid dues there ... :( ... I just dont see a happy ending though!!!

OK stepping off my ever B###ing soapbox now .. :confused: ... not sure what today has in store for me w/o wise .. I may go to the gym and get one last w/o in .. or may head out to another gym and check them out .. ???? SIL says screw this gym .. too many negatives .. she said no matter where I go eventually they will come .. ????

Hey Ladies,

You can sure tell everyone is back at work as the posts are pretty light these days. Today I completed my first week of CLX and really like it. The workout today was only about 25 min but it was Intervals that really spiked the HR. I would say similar to the Imax blasts only. The other workout was a 20 min flexibilty training that I only did 10 mins of this morning.

On the eating, I'm in big trouble. Yesterday was going perfectly until dinner. I was starving and DH had made everything for burritos. I always us a 7" low carb tortilla-but not last night. Without even noticing it, I grabbed a large white flour tortilla, thankfully the beans and ground beef were low fat, and put it a little homemade green chile on it. It was delicious. Not too bad huh...then I went to eat not 1, but 3 100 cal dark chocolate hersey bars. I just updated my fitday log with this information and it changed my ratios drastically. My ratios for yesterday ended up being 25% carb, 16% prot, and 59% fat. No worries, lesson learned. The terrible ratio's and I was also over 142 cals from what my daily goal is. One more thing, a good thing, I discovered that I can download from fitday.com to my fitdaypc acct. I'm going to give that a try tonight.

Wendy-Breaking even is great and I would be happy with that too. The chocolate martini's sound heavenly-in moderation would be my suggestion:) Just get your run in whenever you can, that's all that matters.

Laura-so sorry about the sound system. Obviously the sound system needs to be fixed. You should not have ask to get paid either. I agree your SIL, your students will follow you. Are there other instructors beside you. Maybe you could collectively confront the owners and that would help. Otherwise, I hope there is another gym nearby that you can teach at. Good Luck!

Back to report eats: toast for brkfst // apple snack // lunch: grilled chkn salad w/mandarin oranges - sprite // snack: orange//not sure on supper .. DH is fixing it :eek:

I called the gym ... :confused: .. so the owners are still not in .. but supposedly they hooked up a DVD to it that will work :confused::confused::confused: I am hoping the person I was talking to meant CD player ... WHO KNOWS .. I will be going and hope for the best ... will try to keep my composure and not blow up tonight!!! :confused::eek::confused:

Di .. there are only 2 more gyms I would consider .. and the one I would likely go to is the community center.. it has a wonderful facility and they have been trying to get me to teach .. I know they have one instructor there ... but her classes are not packed ... soooooo???? her style of teaching is more easy going for the elderly crowd too .. not hard core like my classes. If they dont need anyone .. I will take some time off from teaching and re-group .. have been doing it for 23 years now .. sooooooo maybe the universe is trying to tell me I need a break (one knee injury and shoulder injury 2 late) ... the gym I am at now only has me as a fitness instructor and I provide the subs ... there are 3 set of Karate classes held in there ... (which is who I think blew out the stereo)

Whoa am I late today !

Hiya ladies !

Checking in late today but was up and at ‘em early again this AM. Not following a rotation but weights was y’day so today I did Cardio Fusion step only. Nice 40 min workout ! The high step helped keep the soreness in my legs for today !

Will try to get caught up as I didn’t get back after most of you posted. Here goes:

Laura – sounds like you’ve been whooping it up ! How fun but tiring at the same time, huh? Hope the ol’ shoulder starts cooperating soon – I’m in the same boat with my back which wants to work sometimes and then not others. It should be mandatory the body does what you want it to do, right? I mean if we have the energy, why won’t it cooperate!

Know how you feel about your work sitting there when you aren’t around. Same for me as no one else does what I do. Now, my assistant will take a week off and I’ll have to do her work since she is payroll for hourlies. And she’s taking off on a short week so hopefully no one needs me that week or it will be a 16 hour day !

OMG about the stereo at work yesterday ! WTH is right !:eek: ITA with SIL - they will follow - good instructors are hard to find. HOpe it all works out. You have a great attitude any way. And WHT, you can start Poochy road trip classes to give us all a break, huh? Whatcha think?

Diana – not good about all the emails, but great about the new monitor ! Woo hoo ! Guess between you and Laura I’m happy I didn’t take time off? (hmmm, did I really mean that?) And I hope Jerod gets back into the swing of things soon. So glad I don’t have to rouse kids any longer.

Bummer about the cost of moving “dirt” ! I’m similar to Angie – DH does underground work so he hsa the equipment at work and knows how to use it. In fact, he loves to “play” when he has the chance. Boys and toys, ya know ! Sounds like the landscaping will be nice though.

I enjoy getting my workouts done before work ‘cuz I was not doing them beginning of last year until I switched it up. Just don’t always feel like it when I get home. And it’s the hormones waking me up so might as well take advantage of it. Though I think I’m rubbing off on DH as he is waking earlier these day too. . .

Don't fret getting back to the "good eats" - you have the willpower and logging will help. I use fitday also when I log and I love it 'cuz I set up my "regular" meals and it doesn't take long to put in the days food at all. So what is fitdaypc.acct?

Wendy – welcome back lady ! Glad you had a blast and slept in y’day. Nice running mileage last week and sounds like a fun one y’day too.

Woo hoo on not losing ! ITA with having fun, not turning in early 'cuz why bother if it is isn't costing you anything ! OMG LOL about your CAB story ! It happens and oh well, at least you had peeps there to help ya.

Hope you had a nice long (well not long for you ;)) run today. That'll take care of the hangover if there is any left !

Angie – what’s the new Venuto book about? (I know you have mentioned it, but that age factor and memory . . . ). I do have BFFM and learned a lot from it. Logging helps me loads but lately I haven’t really been eating much. Just not into food right now. Maybe with consistent workouts again I’ll get my appetite back.

OK - that was a long lunch just catching up and the Pres just walked in so bye bye for now. :rolleyes:
 
OMG am I tired and sore! I think I will be in bed within minutes after I put Joey down. :eek:

I got in 5.58 miles on the tm with Grace after work today. I was tired so it was far from my best showing but I did it and that's what counts. ;)

Tomorrow I am planning on upper body only. I may or may not include abs as I am pretty sore from Keith's crazy ab work y'day. I'll see how I feel tmrw.

Gotta go for now. I'll catch up on personals in the morning.

Hey Ladies,

Happy to report the eating was much today.
meal 1-1/2 C fiber one cereal, 2 scoops prot powder, 3/4C almond milk & banana
meal 2-3/4 C eggbeaters w/spinach, oatmeal
meal 3-green salad w/1 can tuna
meal 4-orange (afternoon snack)
meal 5-pork tenderloin, steamed broccoli, fried potatoes, beets.
My water intake so far is 80oz and I will be drinking another 32oz before bedtime.

Jacque-fitdaypc is a program you can download from fitday.com. It's a program on your computer (that you pay for). It doesn't have any of the advertising as the free online version. Now they have something called fitday premium which allows you to sync your free online acct with your pc version. Of course their is a fee for premium membership. I can't log my food on my fitdaypc when I'm at work since it's on my home pc.

Wendy-glad to hear you got your run in even if it wasn't your best effort. We all have off days now and again and just have to go with them when they occur. Great job getting your mileage in.

Laura-good luck on finding a new gym. Both of my rec ctrs have numerous classes and instructors. I'm sure your hardcore style would be a welcome addition to the community city!

I'm sitting here watchin' the biggest loser....what's up with everyone being drenched in sweat?? They must have the same building owners as Laura's gym.:confused: Holy crap....I forget the announcers name, but hope she doesn't faint while getting thru the weigh in. They all look miserable.

Anywho....work went much better today. I don't know what the deal is with Monday's anymore, but it just seems we can't catch a break on Monday for anything!:mad:

I came home and did CC#3 after doing 9 1RM's. I have a plan on the 1 RM's now....finally! If I do 10 a day, I can have it done in 4 more days just doing the 4 and 5 star moves. I should have the majority of it done by the end of the week. I feel like an iron woman doing the CC workouts back to back on consecutive days. That ought to shock the body eh?

Wendy - Sounds like a fantastic time in AC. Vacation=CABS....oh yea!:cool: I wouldn't feel guilty about that one bit.;)
Cracked up at your martini story. I'm the same way if I drink on an empty stomach. If I try to cook dinner while sipping on a brew, I burn dinner every stinkin' time!:mad: LOL! I am toast after 1 drink on an empty stomach. I was MUCH better at it when I was younger.:D

Laura - Holy crap - I'm pi$$ed after reading your post!:mad::mad: I can't believe that they just let things go. But, everything happens for a reason right? Somehow, this will be a blessing in disguise. Any chance of YOU being an owner??? I think you'd be great at it. Although, you'd have a couple jobs too many then wouldn't you? LOL!

Jacque - I cracked up at your rousing kids comment b/c I bought Cam an alarm clock for Christmas. *lol* I actually like his alarm better than mine - it starts out with just one mild beep, then progresses to 2, and so on. Ahhhhhhh - what a great Christmas gift that was. Codys alarm could wake the dead I swear. You could hear his thru the walls without a problem.:confused:
I use sparkpeople to track calories. I guess I'm just used to it now. They did add a feature where you can copy meals to different days which is nice. That site keeps getting better and better.
I'm jealous about your dis-interest in food. Do you think it is hormone related?
The new Venuto book is actually geared towards regular folks and not necessarily the super fit and muscular. I love BFFM - lots of great information. I guess I'm just curious about the new book. There's just no way I would follow BFFM long term....just too strict for me. I'm hoping the new book will have more wiggle room and then I can always lean toward BFFM if I feel the need to tighten it up from there.

Di - So are you gonna stick with CLX when STS gets here or are you gonna jump the fence?
You know, I don't rein in my eats lots when I clean things up. I go crazy if my eating is too strict. It's just not something I will do long term and I refuse to yo-yo. There's no way I could write my eats down for you all to see on a daily basis b/c I would run out of time. LOL! I do eat healthier with lots of fruits and veges but I still eat a good volume of food for sure with chocolate included every day!!:p Over Christmas break I hardly got any veges in, so I'm already feeling a difference in how I feel. I love that!
