They make you feel so strong don't they!!

Hello ladies. Haven't posted in a while. Hope you all are doing ok. Busy for the holidays I know.

My life has been super busy. Muffie was having troubles and I took her in thinking she had a bladder infection again, but it turned out she had a mass in her belly. She has had major abdominal surgery this week to remove multiple small tumors from her small intestine. She came home on Thursday and appears to be doing well. Just have to restrict her activity which is hard.

I did manage to do some chinups this morning. It's been a while. I did 7,6,6,5,& 4. It felt good and I haven't lost too much ground. So that's good. I will be glad to get back into my normal workout routine!!

I hope you ladies are doing well and in the spirit for the holidays!!

Did heavy legs today. Was back up to my 90# squat for 5 reps/1 set. Had missed a couple of weeks and had to work my way back up. I have a love/hate relationship with heavy legs. I really want to see where I can go with this (safely) DH still says no to a power cage :( I should know better than to ask and just buy it. But where to put it is another ordeal LOL!!!

I am planning on chinups again on Wednesday!!

Hi Catherine,

I haven't been working on my chins lately :-(

Is Muffie your dog? Hope she is doing better.

I've been really enjoying the weight work on 4D Split. And, I really love HIS.

Joanne

Hey Joanne!! I am also enjoying 4ds. Mostly premixes, but love it!!!

Yes, Muffie is my dog. She has transitional cell carcinoma- bladder cancer. The prognosis isn't good :( I am planning palliative therapy to hopefully keep her comfortable.

My workouts have been inconsistent and I hope to get back to normal soon.

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday!!!!!

Catherine...I am so sorry to hear about Muffie. The whole process is so hard to go through, I'll be praying for you.

Your workouts sound great. I've finally done the 4DS!!!! I like um!

>DH still says no to a power cage. Hmmmm....a friend once said "it's easier to ask forgiveness than permission". Now there's something to think about. (just kidding!). I can give you 100 uses for a cage though...would that help?

Waves to Joanne!! I still haven't bought those cardio coaches - IT'S TOO FLIPPIN COLD TO RUN RIGHT NOW. (that's my excuse)

I did Drill Max Tuesday night with the ladies - great workout!!

Briee

Briee, thanks!! It has been a tough couple of weeks. I just want her to be comfie. Been sleeping on the couch with her. Good for her, not so good for me LOL!!

I hear ya on not asking permission. If I could figure out where to put one I'd get it :7 I think DH is afraid he'll come home and find me pinned under a weight  I wouldn't be that stupid. Plus he doesn't understand the saftey features of the cage. Oh well, does me no good to ramble here!!

Glad you are liking the 4ds. I can not wait for the new series!!!

I hope your families are well and that you both have a wonderful blessed holiday!!!

Hey ladies!! It's been way to slow on this thread lately. Let's try to revive it a little K?

I have been so out of the swing of things myself these past few weeks and hope to get them normalized real soon!!

I did my first workout in over a week this morning. I did the standing portion of PS legs and chinups. Did 6,5,4,4,4,4,3& 3. Not where I was. But I have decided now is not the time for gains. I will work harder at getting back there though!!!

Joanne, are ya still grabbing that bar????
Briee, I know you are :D

I hope you ladies had a wonderful holiday and have a wonderful year to come!!!

Catherine-your doggies are sooo cute.

My workouts have been suffering too. But, I do have to tell you what happened the other day. I was in Chicago over Christmas visiting family. I belong to Balley's which is real close to my brothers house (I hardly go to the club anymore since finding Cathe but my membership is so cheap that I keep it up). Anyway, I went to do a chin up but was really nervous as the club was crowded. But, I did a chin up - tried to do another but oh well I did do one. Then, this big muscle guy came over and did about 25 pull ups. I said -Wow, you make it look so easy. And, then he said he has been working on them for three years. He said he trains a lot of women and many of them can't do one and that I should feel real proud. He said even some men that he trains can't do one. I was smiling the whole day. Soooo, my DH just got done moving my bar to a better place so that I have to reach up. I tried to to one but I did BM2 upper today so I think that is why I couldn't pull all the way up. But, I like my bar in its new location and I am going to work hard on them. Sorry for such a long post but I was excited to tell my chin up buddies. Thanks for listening.

Joanne

Catherine-Thanks for all your words of encourgement. I did do one this morning before leaving for work-yea!

I feel another week coming up that my workouts are going to suffer. We are getting company.

Briee-What's going on?

Joanne

I'm here I'm here.

I've been VERY busy. My dh who loves me very much (or wants me to die young) bought me a snowboard for Christmas. Isn't that sweet. So right now...I'm in major pain. (my forearms, that is). It's hard to type so I'll make this short.

Joanne...I'm so VERY proud of you. You're doing a GREAT job on those chins and I'm sure the bar placement will help you tremendously.

I've been pretty good with workouts lately, missed a few days, but am making it up by snowboarding!! We go to Mt. lacrosse tomorrow. Pray for me.

Catherine.....those doggies are precious.

Briee

Okay...so what are you doin readin the prego forum?????

I'm very doubtful at this point....but I was quite sure about a week ago - just a feeling. And of course my first thought was....now how am I gonna do pullups (ha ha JK!!;) ;) ).

Funny thing is...the first time I wanted to try snowboarding was when I was 8 1/2 months pregnant with Noah (4 years ago). I almost got out on the hill when the ski patrol surrounded me and said "No way". I haven't tried since...tomorrow is my first day at a real hill!!!!

Briee (I'll let ya guys know when I know!!)

OMG that is too funny!! Ms, step away from the snow board :+

I don't usually read the preggo forum, but there was this big gleaming post BRIEE!!!! LOL! I thought to myself huh??

BTW you would get awesome on your chins. Just like adding ankle wts or other wts over time :p

Okay...so I just checked in at the prego forum to let them know I'm NOT pregnant. This was really a big deal in my mind lately. When ya think your done and then something like this shakes your world ...oh my. I'd be fine and we'd work with it, but it would have been a little unexpected at this point.

And to think...I would have been snowboarding through the first trimester!!!:7 :7 :7 . So let me report...I was on the hill for 7 hours yesterday and I think I'm getting the hang of it. It's an absolute blast, you guys gotta try it. Just don't get frustrated in the beginning - hang in there!! Joanne...I KNOW you have snow - get out there and get on a board!!! This has been one of the most beautiful winters yet - I figure if it has to be cold....there better be snow!! So that was my workout for yesterday. I'm resting today!!

Briee

Briee-I've never tried that sport. I've only gone skiing twice in my life and it was a very long time ago and I was terrible. Is it like skiing?

I was wondering the same thing about you as I also saw it in the prego forum :)

Happy New Year chinsters!

Joanne
