Default 40s - getting 2012 off to a great start!

Hi girls, starting us off for the week! Happy New Year!

I did LICh this morning. At least this time I didn't fall off my step , however I think during the squat thrust/pushup in combo 2 a nerve or something must have gotten pinched because then I'd have some twinge outside my right knee. I think Cathe does those sooooo fast, I do the squat thrust, then drop to my knees to do the pushup and something just didn't go right. I think next time I'll still with doing a squat thrust, hold plank move.

Did everyone have a nice New Year's Eve? I Know Mary was rockin' out to Dick Clark We watched a movie (Sanctum)---it was good! We had crab legs and guacamole and YUMMY chocolate chip coconut bars (you know you wanted some Roxie) Can't wait for DS19 to go back to college so that I have less tempting foods in the house!

Kimmi, welcome! What part of the world do you live in? Stick with us and Cathe and you will get that weight off, we've all been there! I just recently lost 10 lbs, I had gained during a cruise about a year ago and just kept eating even after the cruise, I reigned in my eating, upped my activity (I sit at a desk all day--so I take about 4 10 min walks a day which includes 4 floors of stairs). It's a nice break from the desk (that I deserve!) and clears my head and is good for my body! I have to get back to doing that again! I'd love to lose another 4 before my DS22's wedding in May. I reside in beautiful Colorado (I love my state, good thing since I live here!), I have 2 grown boys (19 -- almost 20, and 22). I have an old cat 18 1/2 yrs, after she's gone no more pets for us (we've had a dog in the past). I've been married almost 26 yrs and am 47 yrs old. I started Cathe 5 yrs ago and lost 40 lbs, then when I went back to work 2 yrs ago I gained 15 lbs, then gained 5 with the cruise, just lost 10, so still 10 lbs heavier than my lightest in my 40's. I'm at peace with that since the pants still fit! When I have the time I like quilting and reading. I've crocheted in the past too. I switched over to an eReader a year ago. Are you still reading real books or are you on an eReader?

Jody, what movie did you all decide on?

Mary, how was your night? Is DH back from the firehouse now? Does he work like 3 days in a row or what is his schedule normally? We don't normally do scary movies either.

Roxie, what did you do for new years eve? Were you about as exciting as the rest of us?

Murphy, are you around? Did you get some w/o's in since kids were at parents? Are they back now?

Ronnie, how was your holidays? Are you going to be back with us this week?

I think I got everyone! If I didn't just blame my galzheimers! hahaha

Good Afternoon,

I am going for a walk with DD and then I need to do Yoga Relax and maybe KCM's start here. I am not very excited about the walk its only in the upper 30's lower 40's and I have a headache.

Lisa-what are your plans for today?

Roxie, I've been catching up on emails/posts to people. Now I'm going to go read! Reading The Scorch Trials, it's the second in a series by James Dashner. If you ever read The Hunger Games it's similar to that. We had 85 mph winds yesterday and I curled up with this book and now I'm hooked into it. Today it's much nicer out, and we should be in the mid-50's and mid week in the mid-60's, nice!

So my workouts today included IMAX 2 and two bellydance classes, my troupe class and advanced class so I am cardio'd out. I should have done some muscle stuff instead of IMAX but I was in the mood for fun step and I told myself I'd only do half of it and switch to weights. I lied, I really can't trust myself.

We did watch LOTR, yea! I also have smurfs and the apes but dd 18 doesn't want to see anything sad so may return apes w/o watching it. Boyfriend came over and I fixed dinner and everything. : )

Lisa, thanks for getting us off to such a jolly start. : )

Kimmie, nice to meet you. I've homeschooled my kids too, but they are doing dual enrollment in college so now I am happily done with curriculum. Our kids are similar age except I don't have a 9 yr old (tho oddly I did have a miscarriage about 9 yrs ago) I can also relate to your wt issues. I've been the size 14 and the size 1, currently an 8 but shooting for a 4. I think I'm the only single one of this group?

I hope the rest of you ladies had a nice New Years Day and that we are all looking forward to a 2012 filled with health and vitality and prosperity.

PS, I must get a red sports bra to match crew on red workout days like IMAX 2.

Hi girls! Today did 4 miles on TM and Bob Harper's yoga. DH came home, said they got a run at 1201, he said it was amazing because no one was on the road! He works 24, off for 48. He teaches on his off days. He is busy! Lisa, sounds like a perfect day! Roxie, you have been busy today! Jody , what did you make for dinner? Kimmi, you around today? I have 3 kids, 13 yr old twins and a 10 yr old. Lots of hormones here! Ronne, did you go any where? Murphy, the kids back? We just finished our pork tenderloin, it was actually pretty good! Sometimes I surprise myself! Have a good night! Mary

I completed PLB this morning including the floor/ball work. Why do I dislike floor/ball so much? Maybe b/c your overall core and balance needs to be really good to do it effectively? I just get pissed off draping my sweaty body over a wobbly ball crushing one leg into the ground while feebly attempting to isolate an outer thigh. That sort of work is so much easier to do when you are at an ideal body weight, imo.

That being said, I am going to focus on Intensity series for a few weeks. Also doing corgi max on regular basis since both of my dogs are acting too pathetic to climb stairs.

Darn, I need purple sport bra too.

Smurfs was too smurfy and annoying and we abandoned it mid movie.

Hugs to all and Mary let us know if we can do anything.

I did GS BSB, I was going to do AB but my knee is still bothering me. Blast that LICh....note to self: for the future don't be a hero, just use 1 riser and not kill yourself! I found GS very challenging...it's been ages since I've done that one and I've lost some strength (how'd THAT happen?)

Jody, Imax2 is so much fun! I hope you got to see the Apes movie, it has a happy ending

Mary, your DH must be in shape because of his job? I wish mine would get in better shape. Not that he's a fat slob or anything it's just that I see the weight adding on bit by bit and with him passing the 55 mark I think it will be harder later than sooner to get a w/o routine together. Right now it's hit or miss. I LOVE it when it snows cuz he gets a workout shoveling! haha

Roxie, I've never been limber, even when I was a teen and worked hard at it I was still pathetic at stretching. I envy those body types!

Back to work tomorrow, then hopefully skiing again on Wed (was supposed to go Tues but DS19 has something going on). I hope my knee is ready for the icey conditions we have! I miss our champagne powder!

hi girls! Today tried Jari, Lean Machine, different, seemed kind of thrown together. Lisa, becareful with your knee, especially skiing! DH is rather buff! He had been training to do an olympic duathlon. It is a 5k run, 40k bike, then 10k run! i watch from the sidelines! Jody, you are going to have to go shopping! Thank you for the thoughts, they are supposed to call tomorrow and let me know about my appointment, I just want it done and to know. Roxie, are you off today? Murphy, Ronne, and Kimmi, hello! Have a good day, Mary
