~~Weekend Melting!~~

Cathlete
Good Morning to all the melters out there!

Rest day for me so it means doing all those things you don;t do during the week. I also have to get the Christmas cards out this morning. I had a really "non clean" dinner last night and I am paying for it now. Can you say BLOAT! ugh.

Emily:
The Cathe calendar looks great.. a lot to read! I have to get a cup of tea and sit down and read the whole thing before I hang it up in my excercise area. I record my workouts on it w/time and calories burned. I don;t use the stickers at all.

Robin:
You are the Cookie Queen! DH and I also have a week planned in March but have not decided what to do. Where are you going? maybe we can get some good ideas. We want to go somewhere warm, preferably an "all inclusive" resort somewhere. I will be going to Playa in Feb for work so Mexico is out for our March trip..unless we go to the west coast.

Lainie:
I can't believe you are still feeling sick.. now heart burn? does the otc stuff work?

Shelley:
we were at a Tims near S. Service rd, right off the QEW...isn't there a Tim's near everyone's office there? LOL! one on every corner.. They are building so many around here, but that's ok because I love them.

Tneah:
see above.. I am like you were yesterday after last night's dinner.. what Ultimate workout deal? ...did I miss something?

Michele:
Thanks for posting that rotation.

TK:
That puzzle box idea sounds great. Do you put cash in there or can it be a gift card?

Have a wonderful day and a great start to the weekend!

Deb
:)

Goodmorning Deb. I didn't see this and started another melting post. Duh! We are planning a week on St John in the Virgin Islands. A week of beaches, snorkeling and hiking. That's it. We don't care for glitz or glamour and St John is laid back and pretty quiet. There is an all inclusive there, I think, the Weston, but we stay at a funky little inn on the edge of Cruz Bay where we can walk to the restaurants each evening. I really need to get serious about melting before then!

I'm excited about trying LIS with my knee brace today. Also, the last of the cookies and putting up the tree are in the plans. I better get moving. I'll chat later.

Have a melty day all.

Hey everyone. Lazy Saturday at home for me. DH took oldest DS Isaac to his Manhattan office today so he can do some work and also spend time with DS. He wanted us all to come to the city, but I would have ended up dragging little Ewan around a very cold & crowded midtown while DH & Isaac stayed in the warm office. I declined so Ewan and I are home. He's playing with trains while I wrap presents and write out the last Christmas cards.

Later I hope to do some cardio. I had wanted to go jogging, but without DH here I'd have to take Ewan out in the jogging stroller--pretty cold for that so I'll just do some step aerobics when he takes his nap. I thought I might do a cardio premix from BM2 and then some yoga.

Anyone else want to start the Nov. 07 rotation 2 months late with me in January? I got my LIS outfit from Oh My Bod yesterday and I got myself a new barbell set I'll open on Christmas (should have seen me attempting to wrap it--ended up just hiding away the barbell and forcing two large gift bags over each end of the heavy box of weights). So I'll be ready to go with the 4DS rotation after Christmas!

Deb, wouldn't you know that I bought some Tums yesterday and haven't had the heartburn since? My DH was doubtful that it was heartburn, as he had the same sensation in the same location and it's further up in the esophagus than typical heartburn. No telling what's wrong with us! I still haven't got my Cathe calendar! I'm bummed. I hope it hasn't gotten lost. I usually get Cathe stuff so fast.

Robin, have fun with LIS--I love that one but now I'm saving it until I open that outfit at Christmas! :)

Shelley, 4lbs is pretty good compared to my 1 lb loss so far (which might be back to 0 or a gain but I refused to step on the scale yesterday).

Tneah, hope you feel better today--I know that gross, bloated feeling--that's what I felt like yesterday, too.

Michele, did you get a lot of snow yesterday?

TK, I already suffered through mono in college, so I don't think I could have that again. Plus I haven't felt quite that miserable and worn out this time--whatever this is it's not too harsh--more like an endless cold.

OK, gotta go--hope everyone is having a great melty day!

Hope I am in the right thread...:) I woke up later than usual--I was dreaming about Johnny Depp and apparently my "dream state" wanted to "play this dream out to the end!":p

We are going to brunch today since DH leaves for WA DC tomorrow..workout is Chest/Back and step...I actually forced myself to do StretchMax last night and it really helped my back. :)
All my holiday preparations are done, since we do not give gifts, its easy! Plus it is just me and DH plus Georgie our dog. Oh, I just might have to send a picture of my boy, he is a huge Newfie.:)

Happy Melting thoughts to everyone this weekend!

Good afternoon melters. This morning I did Philip Gray's Step to Be Fit followed by the Cardio Burn segment from Christi Taylor's Ultimate Core Cardio. It was a good long sweaty workout. HRM registered 666 (ooh scary!)

DH went to the boat so I will wrap gifts and continue my stripping job in the basement. I finished knitting my gloves last night while I watched my alma mater ASU spank the University of Delaware for the NCAA division 1 national championship. I live in Delaware so Monday I'll be hearing all the moaning and groaning from my UD colleagues. }(

Deb: Enjoy your rest day. What kind of work do you do since you seem to travel a lot? I've been gunning for a geek conference being held in Walt Disney World in May. Disney uses the same programming language and hardware as our firm so they host the conference there. Most times my work travel isn't to places quite as nice.

Robin: I've been to St John a couple times when we've chartered sailboats down there. You'll have a good time. All those islands are hilly so you'll get a good workout if you go hiking!

Lainie: I was envisioning a loaded barbell sitting under the tree with two gift bags covering the weights on the ends. That made me giggle!

Tneah: How did you get your Newfie to sit so near a pool without him jumping in? When you're in the pool does he jump in to try to save you? :D . He's too cute.

Good afternoon, Melter's!

I hope what's going on outside will be melting in a hurry ;( . We're in the midst of a winter storm with freezing rain and snow. It's mostly raining right now but we're expecting about 4" of snow by tomorrow morning. I hate the ice -- it looks pretty on the trees but it's so scary if you have to drive somewhere!

I forgot to weigh myself yesterday so I'm just going to wait until next Friday. I don't think my weight has changed much from last week. I may have gained a little, but still, I'm way below my usual weight gain for this time of year so I'm THRILLED with that!!! ;) :)

Deb, you're welcome! Are you planning to do the 16 week rotation? I would be grateful for a rotation buddy :D . Have fun addressing your Christmas cards. I'm planning to do mine tomorrow.

Robin - have you tried a workout with your knee brace yet? How'd it go? I would probably stick with the platform only for step workouts if I were you, at least for a little while. I'm exhausted just reading about your plans for the day. Have fun putting your tree up!

Lainie - WOO HOO! It sounds like Santa came early for you this year. Your solution for wrapping the weights is pure genius. I'd love to see a photo of that :7 . I just finished the 4DS rotation or I'd do it with you. You'll LOVE it, at least I did!

Tneah - Georgie is sooooooo precious!! Is that your house in the background? It's beautiful!

TK - I never heard of Philip Gray. What are his workouts like? Are they complex or basic choreography? One of the Hater's is a big fan of Christy -- especially her hi/lo.

Hello to everyone who checks in later. I'm sorry I haven't been around much, but I've been running around like a crazy woman. I have a lot on my plate next week too, as I'm sure the rest of you do. We've got a lot of family coming and, in the midst of all that, I'm having new carpet installed in my family room. I'm looking forward to the END of the holidays and life returning to normal. ;)

Have a great weekend and I'll see you Monday morning :)

Hi everyone. Well I have spent the last 2 days very ill. Thank goodness we just remodeled our bathroom because I spent some time sleeping on the floor in there and the old floor was getting so gross.

I think I lost 8 lbs. Unfortunatly not the kind of weight I was hoping to loose.

Today I am feeling much better but I am taking it easy. I will see how I feel tomorrow and maybe try to do an easier workout.

I have to put my little guys to bed. I will check in a little later.

Cari

Good Morning Melters!

We did not get the 18 inches of snow predicted overnight..however we did get ice and it is now snowing pretty heavily. Some churches actually cancelled services.

Today I did S&H Legs & Shoulders. I will be doing the workouts as is this week with cardio days in between. This will work because I am off this week and can do longer workouts.

Robin:
Thanks for the suggestion on the Virgin Islands. I was looking at some nice resorts in St Thomas, trying to decide what we actually want. We are not big on casinos so that is out. Let us know how the knee brace worked out.

Lainie:
I would do the 4DS with you but I already did 6 weeks of it and am forcing myself to do something else! Glad to hear the "heartburn" was temporary.

Tneah:
What a cutie your dog is!:D . Where was the picture taken?

TK:
I work for FedEx in the Customs clearance division. ( FedEx Trade Networks). Are you stripping woodwork in your basement?

Michele:
I am interested in the rotation, but I don;t do step or any Hi/Lo workouts due to the impact factor ( and age factor! x( ). We are also getting hit with freezing rain and snow right now.

Cari:
Hope you are feeling better today.:-(

Have a great day!

Deb :)

Tneah, I just had to chime in here...being from Newfoundland and all! What a beautiful dog! AND a beautful pad! You seem to have quit the spot there? Does he get uncomfortable in the hot weather?

Lori
:)

Hi, Melters - just thought I'd stop by to see what's going on. I hope all is well with everyone.

Good morning Melters!

We were supposed to get a huge snow dump by this morning which, thankfully, didn't happen. The weather was horrible yesterday but everything seems to have calmed down. I haven't looked at the weather report for today so I have no idea what to expect. I won't be going out at all unless we go out to eat. I'm planning to spend the day tucked away in my nice warm house working on my Christmas cards....it's snowing...it just started snowing ;(

Cari - you poor thing! I hope you're back in the pink and feeling fine. There's nothing worse than having to sleep at the foot of the throne ;( . Take care and don't try to do some big workout. Take it easy for a few days ;)

Deb - Oh, I don't do step -- no way!! I can't take the impact either. I fully intend to substitute with walking workouts and Cardio Coach on my elliptical. That's the only kind of cardio I ever do -- EVAH :p . I just completed the 4DS rotation and I never once tried the cardio workouts. I had great results with Leslie Sansone and Coach Sean. Oh yeah, and I know what you mean about the "age factor". I'm 52.;)

Hello to everyone who checks in after me, and I hope you have a wonderful and relaxing Sunday.

ETA a big hello to Cuz!! Hows that leg?

Hey everyone!

The picture of Georgie was taken in back yard of our house, thanks, I love our house, its really neat, those glass doors open all the way up and so the house extends all the way out on the porch...but are those floors hard to keep clean!!!}(

Georgie loves the water but my DH has put the fear of god into him about the pool, he is afraid the chemicals will strip his coat...whatever, I would love for him to be able to jump in--which he does when we are in San Diego by the ocean.:) We just adore the breed really, I got him from a breeder in upstate New York who trains her Newfs for water rescue work with the Coast Guard.:)

Hope every one is keeping warm, those winter storms are incredible! Today is a cardio/pilates day for me, then one more week of the 4DS. Talk to everyone tomorrow!:)

Hi everyone. DH & DS #1 went to the church this afternoon for a Christmas pageant. DS #2 started to go, too, but it was such a slog with the stroller through the slushy snow that we turned back. So he's watching a Thomas the Tank Engine video while I'm on the laptop.

I had a wonderful workout yesterday--the Cardio Blast premix from BM2, some ab work on my Bosu, and the 3rd segment of Stretch Max. Obviously I felt fine to do all that, but then after I went to bed I had a tickly throat and a cough. I'm fine again today--it's just when I lie down and the congestion affects my throat or something. Ugh. At least I'm o.k. during the day! Today is a rest day, though I might do some yoga later.

Tneah, Georgie is gorgeous and so is your house! My house was built in 1868, so it's much different in style, but I also like that contemporary look. And it suits the chic, sexy you as I told you I pictured you. ;)

TK, when you mentioned your "stripping job in the basement" my mind pictured you having a men's entertainment venue in your basement, though of course I figured you meant some kind of paint-stripping thing instead. Sometimes I think like a 13-year old boy.

Michele, in this picture of my tree, you can see the weights box in the lower right corner--one of the only non-white boxes. My Dh doesn't know I got that for myself so I'd like to see him picking up the box on Christmas morning. :p

Deb, brrrr, hope it's not too cold up there! Try to stay warm.

Back to tell Lainie, I love your tree, your new pic (you are so pretty!) and the fact you got yourself a present--weights! :7 heehee, would like to be there myself to see your DH pick it up!

Oh and thanks for your kind words.:) :)

Bundle up everyone, its even freezing here! 30 degrees qualifies as freezing right? I am going to bundle in front of the fire and watch either bad tv or resume my "Friends" marathon! Boy, I am one party animal....:p Talk at ya all on the morrow...
