~~~~Coolers in June~~~
Morning Coolers,
Today I came into work early so I only had time to get in 4DS Kickboxing Cardio. Will get in BM2 Upper Body (not the premix) after work. Along with the Leg Conditioning Drills from KM.
Patricia, Congrats on getting Meso 1 done! :D You and Kim will be my experts with my first rotation in the fall. :eek: Yes there is the counting in the all TaeBo workouts. This doesn't bother me, but I know alot of people don't like it. Glad your DS is feeling better, the young are amazing with how fast they can recover. SNOW!!! Oh I hope your plants are doing ok.
Kim, Yes I'm still going to the gym, just didn't get anything in last week. To much going on with the girls. :rolleyes: I am scheduling W-F for the summer to go to the gym. ;) Will go look at those pics of the marathon when I get this posted. Glad your DD is feeling better too. ;)
Have a great day!
Laurie
Thanks for starting the new monthly thread Laurie! Is your dd still going with you to the gym or is she too busy with track right now?
Patricia, there was a picture of your snow in our newspaper today! Is it all gone yet?
3 more days to recovery week!!!!!!!!! Did Disc 23 and CoreMax #3 today. Feeling the tennis from yesterday!
Off work today as had to take ds to our annual opthomalogy appt at the Children's Hospital. The doctor thinks he may be able to get a driver's license!! We never thought that would happen! His eyes seem to have stablized at 20/50 (with glasses) which is the lowest level that driving is possible. Of course, he is only 12 but it made our day! Poor guy, had his eyes dilated so is walking around the school with sunglasses/ball cap. He came home from lunch complaining that he couldn't play baseball in gym class, he can't read anything so he should get to stay home:rolleyes::cool::cool: He'll survive, he can sit and listen.
Kim - seeing as I had my eyes dilated last week - the vision impairment only lasts about 2 hours so don't let your kid pull one over you!:eek::p Yes, the snow melted by noon hr and it was sunny out but windy. There was enough for kids to build a snowman that hadn't melted even this a.m. Rain all day today. The weather is gettin me down:mad: I have BB Tues and Wed and DS has BB Tues and Thurs and the forecast isn't looking overly promising. Oh well, that's life. Hey, that's great news about possibly driving. Just make sure you call me b/4 he drives into Ontario so I know to stay off the roads:D:p
Laurie - that's some willpower to get back into your w/o at the end of the day. Not sure if I would do it.:D I think my plants survived but I'm too afraid to go look.
I did a Kathy Smith 20 min step w/o, then a 15min Ab routine on my Supreme Pilates (tough) then did my neck and shoulder drills. My chiropractor said I should excercise my rotator cuff every day with the resistance band so I've been trying to do that too. A real mish mosh w/o today.
Okay, for the EXCITING new. I just logged onto my email and I got a message from Nancy saying there is an opening for the Road Trip. Of course I said I was still available. I'm sure I won't hear from them anymore until tomorrow. I was thinking about trying to use my airmiles for flights so will go over and check it out now.
Doing the happy dance
Morning All,
I have done BBC Fat Blaster Lower, and the MS Beg. Lower body this morning. Want to get in P90X Legs only, and either Ab RipperX or Ab Ripper 200 after work. Will depend on time.
Kim, You are correct, oldest is not going to the gym because of track. But she will get back into it again when she is finished as of this weekend. :D What great news that your DS might be able to drive. It is so helpful when a person is independant. Oh I just don't like to get my eyes dilated. You feel like you are in a fish bowl. :confused:
Patricia, I have to say that it was hard to get down in the basement to workout. After walking the dog, then picking up oldest from practice, hauling her home, then hauling her to her track party. I was just about ready to sit down. :eek: But it was good to get the workout in, because my upper body is talking to me this morning. I like how you can go so heavy for only 4 min./body part. I think BM2 upper body is a gem of a workout with adding abs is only 29 min. Just have to remember not to do the warm up. I think I will do my own 3-5 min. warm up from now on. Congrats on getting to go on the road trip!
Have a great day!
Laurie
Afternoon All
Got my airline booked. I was able to use my airmiles and it only cost me $200 for the taxes. Luckily I can fly from here to Toronto then catch a connecting flight to Philly. However, I only have about 1.5hr between flights so crossing my fingers for no delays (especially in customs in T.O.). I should get there early Fri. afternoon. I also have my hotel booked and now looking for a roomie.
I have baseball tonight so that'll be my active recovery w/o:D
Have a great night all.
I'm so jealous Patricia!!!!!!
Laurie, do you work out twice a day most of the time??
Just finished cardio coach #3 on the tm, only 40 mins but I'm a sweaty mess.
Morning All,
Today was BBC Fat Blaster Upper Body, and Mission Specialist Lower Adv. Will get in KCM's 30 Min to Fitness Weights Shoulders & Arms, and BBC MS Abs workout after work.
Patricia, You will have to give us details about your road trip experience. I have never been able to go on one, so will live through your fun! :D
Kim, Yes I have been getting in two workouts per day recently. But most of the workouts like BBC and Results (I use these as cardio) are only 20-30 min. Then I follow it with a BBC Mission Specialist which is around 12 min. So my total workout time is around 40-45 min in the morning and the same at night. Usually I try to keep my night workouts to weights. Going to see how this works for me. ;) It might be to much, but so far I'm not getting that exhausted feeling, but then it has only been 3 days! :D
Have a great day!
Laurie
Well, we lost our BB last night. Only by a few runs though. Got home and spent about 2 hours pulling dandelion weeds and carting them off into the bush. Abour 4 wheel barrels full and still more to do! This ban on pesticides just s**cks:mad:
Have another BB game tonight at 8:30 so will work on more weeds b/4 then. I found it funny, walking behind houses last night and seeing into their backyards how awful their lawns are but look at their front lawn their beautiful. The benefits of having a fence I guess. We're on a corner lot so no privacy.
Well, hopefully the motivation of the RT will keep my diet in check! I want some new w/o clothes but will wait until July. My only problem is my endurance will be at an all time low due to STS and BB I won't be getting in as much intense cardio. Glad I will have the holiday Monday to recover from the trip:D
Laurie - maybe come July I'll have to be like you and get some cardio in the a.m. to survive the RT. Mabye that'll be my motivation to get our of bed at 5am:D
Kim - so which Meso so far have you noticed the most change? I'm going to have to juggle Meso 2 in July as I'm on holidays for 2 weeks at the cottage, however, I'm thinking of coming home during the week for a day or so each week in order to not miss too many BB games so I might be able to squeeze in my STS w/os. So not only work interfers with our w/os so does holidays! Life is tough.
Take care,
Patricia
Morning All,
Well I didn't get in my workout last night, nor this morning. We went and bought DH a very expensive birthday present last night. He is now a proud owner of a silver '07 Toyota Tacoma. :rolleyes: I'm just happy that my mini van will no longer be used to haul tools! :D And of course it is doggy daycare day today so didn't have time for anything this morning. I was making sure that oldest DD had everthing she needed for her trip to the state track meet. They are leaving this afternoon, after she takes her last final exam. Youngest DD came home with a sunburn on her face, and a perfect attendance certificate from school. They had their 6th grade picnic yesterday. :D
Patricia, So you are not allowed to use any type of pesticide? I don't know how my neighbor would handle his yard full of dandelions!!! :eek: What a pain to have to pull all those dang things up. We are on a corner lot also, and are not allowed to have fences either! How was your game last night?
Laurie
I forgot to add in my after work workout! KCM 30MTFW Shoulders & Arms, and the BBC Mission Specialist Adv Abs. I wanted to get to the gym for an interval bike workout, but that might not happen. :(
Afternoon All
We won at BB last night by about 20 runs:p Feels a lot better than losing the previous night by 5 runs.
Tonight should be some sort of step workout - I haven't decided. DS has T-ball tonight 1st though.
Laurie - that's a great achievement for your youngest DD? Is school out now? I know the grade schools aren't out for about 3 weeks yet. How long will DD be away for the track meet? Just the weekend? I'm routing for her:) Yep, Ontario has been slowly rolling out across the province a no-pesticide ban on lawns. Golf courses can still use them though:rolleyes: The truck sounds great. I've only hear good things about Toyota and even looked at the Rav4 earlier this year. Just not ready to spend $$$ as there really is nothing wrong with my car.
Kim - did you get Disc 24 in yet?
Just check-in with my workout. Did Step Blast combos 1-3. Thats a really fun w/o, just didn't have enough energy for the challenge and blasts. I see Step Blast is in the Rotation for Meso 2 so tonight was probably a good warm up for next week.:D
Took DS to t-ball. He is really enjoying it. You can see a difference in all the kids in just 3 games.
Have a nice night all.
Sorry, I haven't been around the last couple of days. PMS big time, eating terribly and super grumpy:rolleyes:
Anyways I'm on recovery week!!! Patricia, I really haven't notice a ton of body changes with sts but that might have something to do with my diet being not that clean. I have notice more defined arm muscles with Meso 2 and definitely huge strength gains, I'm using weights for exercises that I would never have believed I could do.
I'm going to look at the calendar before starting Meso 3 and decided what to do because if I continue with doing each week twice it's going to hit my holidays just like you Patricia! I think I have 6 weeks before holidays.
Laurie A new vehicle, what fun!! What colour is it? Good luck to your dd in the track meet! My ds is just finishing Grade 6 as well, we went to the middle school (Grade 7 &8) orientation last night:confused:
The kids have an inservice day today. Their last day of school isn't until June 30th. Would you believe ds has the flu:rolleyes:, he's the one that started this round of flu through the house! It seems pretty mild right now so we'll see. The daycare is going on a fun field trip since there is no school so dd wants to with them so will be me and sickie at home. Not sure if I'll work out or not.
Kim
Morning All,
This morning was TaeBo Live Advanced #2. The KCM 30MTF Weight workout was really great, and I'm keeping it in my rotation. I also did the ab workout on that DVD, and it was a keeper also.
Patricia, Sounds like a fun game. :D School is offically done as of today, but my youngest really hasn't been doing much of anything this last week. ;) Glad your DS enjoyed his T-ball, must have some good BB genes going. :D
Kim, PMS can be horrible on the eating. That is when I start craving the salt/sugar combo! :( The truck is silver, and DH is very happy with his new vehicle. Now we have to start trying to get both the mini van and this truck in our garage. The truck is longer than his old car was, so we need to move some things around in the garage. I'm still amazed that my baby is going to MS next year. We also have 7&8th grades for MS.
Have a great day!
Laurie
I am pleasantly stuffed on hamburger, salad and cheesecake. I have our weekly Fri. BBQ to thank for that:p Good thing I'm doing cardio tonight.
Kim - DS was up at 5:30 am going to the w/r and boy was I worried that he was sick again based on the amount that came out of that little body (I know TMI) but he seemed fine so I can relate to your DS sick again. Lets hope its just a mild case this time.:rolleyes: I'm thinking about only doing 1 mo of M3 this way I can get some other videos in b/4 I start up the 3mo rotation this fall. I'm just looking to get stronger and more definition and if some weight loss happens all the better. I have noticed my arms look better and I think some slimming through th legs and butt so far. You know, I'm thinking that I'm going to start tracking when I binge to see if it is hormones. I've been taking the same amount of food to work the last couple weeks and no cravings, then other times I can't get enought candy.
Laurie - You guys must start school in August? LOL about the BB genes. DS was the "pitcher" last night and he even squats like I do in anticipation of the ball. I wonder if he picked that up from me? Do you have any other Kelly DVD's? I tried her Step Boxing one and couldn't finish it - just didn't like her style but I've been wondering if the 30m ones different.
BBL with my w/o check-in.
Okay spent a long time playing with the calendar and such. I have 5 weeks after my recovery week before we go on holidays. If I do 4 weeks that are 9 days long ( 8 workouts and 1 rest day) it just fits into the 5 weeks.
So each week I will do 4 sts workouts (both legs and the 2 upper body), the 3 recommended cardio workouts and 1 run with my running buddies. It will be an intense 5 weeks but I have a recovery week first and then two weeks off at the end.
Then I will start CLX at the beginning of August. Patricia, will your neighbour be done with it or should I order it? I don't mind ordering it if she is still using it.
Kim
Just relaxing after what seems like a long Saturday. Last night I did LIC - cardio combo only and then CLX - I've Got Abs. Today I spent another 1hr pulling dandelions so I'm considering that my w/o:p
DS had fun having neighbour kids over playing today. I love seeing him enjoying himself with other kids. It also gave me a good opportunity to do some reading with the occasional refereeing:D We DS to see the new movie UP but I suspected it would be too scary for DS so while DH stayed we left 1/2 way thru and played in the arcade room. By then it was dinner so out for dinner and some quick grocery shopping and home to relax.
Off to the cottage for the day tomorrow. I just hope I won't be too tired to get my w/o in tomorrow night. I start M2:p
Kim - I should be getting CLX back in a couple weeks. The lady I loaned it too, her father died unexpectedly and so the family has flown home to Australia. She will stay until school starts again in Sept, but her hubby will be coming back in 2 weeks so I'll ask for it back then. Glad you got your dates all sorted out. I'm seeing about tyring to accelerate the schedule too. Since I'm playing BB I don't worry about my cardio days as much as I think trying to keep that up would just wear me out. Maybe walking on my lunch hr would be a good idea. Some nights I get a lot of cardio in at BB and others not so much. :eek: I bought a Gymstick w/o when CIA was having a 50%off Mothers' Day sale so bought the Gymstick down in T.O. My family was able to p/u so I'm also anxious to try it out! Its led by a Canadian so just trying to support Canadian content. Well that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.:D:)
http://www.gymstick.ca/
Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.
Did a nice 5 mile run along the river with my friend this morning. Fun! DH is out doing a 20 miler as the marathon is in 2 weeks! After 8 years of running something (full, half marathon, relays, etc) I'm very happy not to be running in it this year. I've signed the kids and I up to volunteer at a water station. This is a huge event in the city with 15,000 runners.
DD had her piano recital last night. She played Burlesque in G Major and did awesome. I was so proud of her!!! Their class is graduating this year! The program is called, Music for Young Children, and is a 5 year program so they did it from age 4-8. I can't believe the music these 8 yrs old play! WOW! Two more weeks and she writes her Grade 1 music exam.
Yesterday was so busy with ds's two hockey games, swimming lessons, piano recital. Two more weeks and all the extracurricular activites for the kids and the marathon will be done!:D:D Looking forward to the downtime!
I've been spending some time on my recovery week learning the choreography for 2 of Christi Taylor's workouts. They look like such fun/advanced cardio workouts but I only tried them once and gave up with frustration. I know Jeanette really likes these workouts, anyone else do them? Since recovery week is supposed to be more relaxed, I fiqure I can spend time watching, practicing the steps.
Patricia, that's great that there is some neighbour kids to play with ds. We used to have more kids on the street but they moved. The one family was terrible, I could write a novel about them:rolleyes: Now very few kids on the street. DS is old enough to bike over to friend's places but dd gets bored sometimes. The gymstick looks interesting, did you get a workout video with it?
Anyone looking at the Insanity workouts by Beachbody?
better get ready for church.
Good Sun. Evening
Just finished Disc 13A - C/S/T and then Slim Express 6 min. abs. I love short abs w/os:D
I'm driving down to T.O. tomorrow afternoon for a business mtg on Tues a.m. so I'm taking a short aerobic w/o - Project You - Power Push to do in my hotel room. If I have time I might drop by a fitness store and shop oops I mean browse (don't tell my DH:eek:)
We drove down to the cottage today. It rained all day but that's okay as we were busy assembling all the kitchen cabinets. Well, I should say my DH did that. My nephew came and helped, so once DH went down for his afternoon nap I sat and read:p
Kim - your run sounds like fun. I think running is much more enjoyable with company. Do you also run with music? I can't stand wearing ear pods/phones so I just find after 1/2hr I'm bored with just my thoughts:rolleyes: I don't remember you running as much as you have this past year or am I mistaken. Helping out at the H2O station sound like more fun:D Great accomplishment for your DD. Does she ever get to play music other than the classics? My guitar teacher was only 4yrs older than me so she let me pick any music I wanted. Which after playing piano with all the concertos I was estatic. I have not played in years (NO TALENT) and can't play a thing on either instrument. It shows great commitment on her part. I love the idea of playing an instrument but could never stick to it for very long. I only have CT's Still Jumpin and tried it 2x and just couldn't p/u her footwork. It's on my to-do list and I'll have to remember for the next recovery week too! Got it real cheap on VHS when CK sales closed down. Yep, I have a gymstick w/o DVD already and I think one comes with however I'll be surprised if its not more instructional. I do know a chart comes with it also, listing several excercises. I thought it would be great at the cottage.
Nope, I'm not juming on the bandwagon of the Insanity train. I figure STS cardio will be enough for me and I don't enjoy puking in a bucket. I really do love my steady state step.
See you on Monday all.
Morning All,
Today was CTX Kickbox only / KM Leg Conditioning Drills. Tonight will be BM2 upper body.
Oldest DD and team didn't do very well at the state track meet. The first two girls dropped the batton in the 4x400. On Saturday the weather was just horrid. Pouring rain / wind / 48 deg. Not a good combination. I was soaked through, and still had to drive home. Got home and put on my sweat pants/shirt, curled up on the couch with a blanket. Just couldn't get myself warm at all.
Patricia, Our schools start the day after labor day, but this school district doesn't take as much time off as others, so that is why they get out so early. I don't have any other KCM's besides the 30 min. ones. I am staying away from step workouts for now. Glad your DS had fun with his friends. I always find it interesting when my girls do something that either DH or myself do.
Kim, You are going to have a busy 4 weeks, but getting in two leg workouts should be doable. That way you can enjoy your vacation. :) I have some Christi's, but it is way to complicated for this girl. :) You and your children should have fun helping out at the water station. It will probably have those busy spurts. Wow! What a great accomplishment for your DD and the piano. I was never a very good piano player, so at her age playing that piece amazes me. This is my official first day of downtime. :eek: I LOVE it so far!
Nope I will not be going Insane for Insanity! :eek: I just wanted to get that in. I bet it gives one a good workout though. Maybe I will change my mine. NOT! Watch I will change my mind. :)
Have a great day!
Laurie
Morning All,
Well yesterday I didn't get my evening workout in because I had forgotten that we had church services. :eek: Youngest DD received her Catechism last night, so we needed to be there. Anyway this morning I did JM's 30D Shred #1 (light weight warm up) and BM2 upper body & abs.
Yesterday my DD's where huddled in the basement because a funnel cloud was sighted in the area. Really hard to be at work, and be worried about them. But they had two sleeping bags on the floor of my workout area, and where watching TV with the volume way high. At least that is where it was when I went down to workout this morning. :eek:
Have a great day!
Laurie
