Good Morning!

I am headed off to Memphis. I did an I-Tread this morning and packed all of my "electronics" that I will take...HRM, MP3 etc.

Have a great week. I will be back Friday night. Hopefully not too many BBQ dinners!

Deb:)

Hi Deb in Memphis, Linny, and Josie--

Gee, I hope I don't end up just chatting with myself all week.

I did 4ds HIS with chest and back this morning (58 min.).

Read your post, Linny. So happy that you managed to retrieve your watch. Some very nice person found it. Good to know there are still some honest people out there.

Yes, I had occasional hot flashes even when I was on Loestrin, but they were very mild and infrequent compared to the ones I had without, and I stopped having the soaking night sweats, which meant I could sleep.

DH is expecting 7 calves in all. Francine is in the maternity ward, still not having her calf, and then there's Celeste and April who are also due any day, but are still out in the pasture.

Finished watching the John Adams series last night. I actually cried when Abigail died. Laura Linney was wonderful.

Hi Deb,Garance and Josie:
Deb:Have a safe trip,we will miss you.
Garance: Don't worry I'll be checking in so you won't have to talk to yourself.:)
I did call OB/GYN today, the triage nurse said she'd leave a message for MD.Hopefully they will just prescribe something for me,if not they will want to see me and they have nothing open till end of May x( I did mention Loestrin so we'll see. I have been having occasional night sweats past week.Yucky!
Thats alot of calves!I have a daughter thats named April, but I don't think I'll tell her that a cow has her name:p
Is that the end of the John Adams series? That was quick.Do you think its worth buying on dvd?
Have a good night~Linny~

Good morning to you Linny--

This morning I did 4ds LIS with shoulders, calves, and abs. I think it's 66 min.

Francine had her calf this morning (4 A.M.), so that makes 5. Actually, the full name is April Fool, because she was born on April 1st a couple years ago. Don't know if that takes the sting off the name.

I really enjoyed the John Adams series. I guess it was on for 6 weeks? I can't remember when it started. I think it would definitely be worthy renting if you get Netflix. I would buy it if I had children or grandchildren that could use it, though, because it's really educational in terms of its historical accuracy, based on the McCullough biography, which was a real eye opener when I read it. I had never really thought much about Adams, and after reading the biography, I liked him a lot more than the more famed Franklin and Jefferson, both of whom sometimes come off as jerks. And Abigail Adams' letters are priceless.

Halcyon weather here. Love wearing my sandals and little dresses.

Let me know if you get on the Loestrin and it works for you. It would be so wonderful if you didn't have to suffer with those hives again.

Hi Garance:
Congrats on your "new addition".Two more to go?
I really think my DH would love that John Adams series. He is very big into history.Iactually bought him the history channel for Christmas one year and have had it ever since.
According to my weather station its reading 61 degrees.Too bad I missed the nice weather.
I did get a message from MD office that they want me to come in and see the MD.I know yesterday they thought they had nothing open till end of May or June.If worse comes to worse maybe my allergist will write me script. The summer without hives would be wonderful. My DH said he heard on the news a blurb about "runners hives".Sounds like that same thing I get.
I did do one mile of Leslie yesterday,I do agree that I didn't need to review it.Pretty easy to follow.I didn't get to do it today though, got to bed late this morning due to nurses meeting.
Have fun wearing those sandals and dresses.~Linny~

Hi Linny--

This morning I did Cardio Dance Fusion (45 min.). High fun factor on this one--very dancy.

It feels like summer here--78 degrees and supposed to get up into the 80s. Too bad I have to stay in all afternoon with registration and paper conferences with my students.

I know what you mean about getting in to see your doctor. Since Massachusetts made health insurance mandatory, the patient load on the doctors here has skyrocketed. We are, according to the NYTimes, in the most vulnerable area of the state. Boston, with all its hospitals, specialists, and doctors has not been hit so hard.

Back to work here!

Hi Garance:
Got up at 4:00p and my weather station read 71 degrees.Did you get up into the 80's today? I love the smells of spring.I can't wait till this weekend so I can enjoy some of this nice weather.Sorry you had to stay in with registration and conferencesx(
With the mandatory insurance, who pays if a person only makes minimum wage? Sounds like a hardship on the lower income person.
Its been pretty busy at work,we are almost at full capacity. On my unit there were 34 patients.Hoping for a quiet night tonite to get caught up on paperwork.
No workout for me today, seems like by the time I go to bed I'm not getting up till dinnertime.Tomorrow I'll try my hardest to go right to bed and get up and do at leasdt one mile of Leslie Sansone.
One of the nurse I worked with told me they are finding C-Diff in pork and beef products.Yuck! No offensive to your cows ;) Sounds like meat pacers aren't doing their job.
Well going back to bed in a few.Have a great night.~Linny~

Good morning, Linny--

This morning I did Ellen Barrett's Slim Sculpt (45 min.).

I don't know all of the ins and outs of the new mandatory insurance program because I have coverage from the college, but I do know that our local doctors have been burdened with many new patients with the new insurance plan.

Yes, it did get up into the low 80s yesterday. Absolutely gorgeous. It's supposed to be mid-70s today. Cannot complain.

DH has a lot of customers who have become alarmed by news of diseases in the meatpacking industry. DH has what is called a "closed herd" and they are also grass-fed so they don't pick up the contaminants in the finishing grain used for raising commercial beef--also not the chemicals to add weight and antibiotics which are so ubiquitous that they are gradually being outstripped by the bacteria they were meant to fight.

I hope the weekend sustains this gorgeous weather for you, Linny.

Hi Garance:
Looks like it was another beautiful day.Woke up to see it was 72 degrees.I heard it was suppose to be 60's on saturday then rain on sundayx( Hopefully this isn't true.Saturday morning DH and I go to take our final test for boating license. We have been doing practivce tests every night, usually getting 97-100% right.I think we're ready. Then on sunday DH's grandson, daughter, boyfriend and his daughter are coming over for a little dinner cookout birthday party. It was DGS birthday this past tuesday,so its a little belated party.
What do you think of Ellen Barrett? I'm going to try and do a mile of Leslie before dinner.
Glad to hear that you care about your consumers,so many don't.Do you eat the beef you raise?
I wonder how warm it is in Memphis? Boy I have a lot of questions today.
Going now to do a mile
:) ~Linny~

Hi Linny--

This morning I did Leslie's 4 fast miles (50 min.).

Ellen Barrett is Pilates-based. I like this workout because it's different from other weight workouts. Jari Love is just loads of reps. Cathe goes really heavy but with a lot of variation. Barrett uses 3 lbs. weights and just keeps you moving constantly and rather gracefully, I think. I always feel this in my shoulders and triceps the next day.

Tomorrow is my all-day conference over at Smith, so I won't be checking in. Here's the website for the conference if you are interested:

http://www.smith.edu/libraries/fyi/plathconference.htm

Sounds like you will be busy, too. Hope the test goes well. I agree about the weather. This was a truly beautiful week, but next week sounds cool and intermittently rainy. Might be a good thing for my students, who seem to have developed a bad case of spring fever--especially the seniors. Only two weeks left of classes. Yeah!

Hi everyone!

Thanks for keeping the thread going! I got back about 2 hours ago. I am really tired. What a long week. I only got 2 treadmill workouts in.. not too happy about that, since I ate too much . Will just have to buckle down and get better this week.

We toured the FedEx hub last night. unfortunetely, the time so see the action is between 11:00 pm and 1:00 am.. I didn't get back to the hotel until 1:30 am, then had to get up for the last day of class, then off to the airport..

Have a good night! (It's so nice to be home)

Garance:
It sounds like you have been enjoying the weather. More calves! :)
I have heard so many people talk about the John Adams series. I may look into the DVD as well. .

Linny:
I think your DH might have come up with something on the "runner's hives".! Maybe this is what you have? you should Google it and see what some of the solutions are. Good luck with the DR apt. I hope
you are able to get seen soon. My DH loves history too..he would probably like that series.

Have a great night ladies,

Deb
