* Damage Control...Thursday *

Well, I took my pedometer off at 8pm having logged over 17k steps at that point. Guess running 5 miles is good for something or then exhausting a person! :p

Jen:: CONGRATS on the weight loss!!!! BF and I joined probably 3 or 4 gyms together over the years and none of them lasted more then 3 months before we quit going but it was because we were not committed to exercising. She lost 30-40 pounds about a year ago. She hasn't really worked out for the past year though and has managed to keep it off (I think she gained maybe 5# back). I don't know how the gym membership will work for her. She was working out at home (I was training her) when she lost all the weight. She has a fairly new treadmill at home that was damaged in a recent move and she hasn't called to have it fixed. She also has free weights at home. If I were her I would have had the TM fixed and continued to work out at home. She intends to do that but for now she has decided to join the gym. The membership is dirt cheap so it's probably worth it just to have other options in cardio and the weight machines since she doesn't mind using them. I agreed to go with her for a while until she gets used to the machines and the atmosphere. Eventually, her sister will probably be the one to join her regularly. ITA about the free weights! That area is always filled with the muscle head types. I refuse to work out next to them! :rolleyes:

Laura:: Jeez, the people around you can't catch a break health wise! :( Glad you've started back with your work outs. They will help relieve the stress I am sure you are feeling right now.

Diana:: I fell once when I was pregnant doing Firm step. I scraped my leg up a little but thank goodness I didn't get seriously hurt. I've tripped over my step more times then I can count though! Glad you aren't hurt. Sending healthy vibes to your DS to feel better soon! I've given up on the PT thing (outside of possibly training BF). In the future, when we move into a bigger house, perhaps I'll reconsider as I really want to have my own business out of my house. If I do though, I'll have to re-certify as I am letting this cert expire. I don't mind though. IMO this cert was useless. I didn't learn anything. UGH! :mad:

Lori:: On the rare occasions that I find myself at a fast food joint I will usually order their salad. They aren't the healthiest but could me much worse too. They are definitely yummy though I would MUCH rather eat a burger!
 
Good Morning!:)

Soooooo sleepy!:confused: I went to bed around 11'ish couldn't really get to sleep. My boss called me at 12....12 mind you....to tell me about a flight at 8:15...which I already knew about. So I was awake until 12 atleast, then Dh is up with a bad belly, then before 5 DS is in bed with me and not sleepy at all (the kid didn't settle down until 9:30:mad:) and bouncing on my bed at 5:30 in the morning. Its o.k to get up at 5 when you want to workout but not to watch a toddler:confused::rolleyes: I got up and did STS disc 15 (didn't want to do legs until Sat) but I don't feel very energized. Atleast if I had ran I would have felt like I was on the go...but no...lazy butt sydrome on the G-O!:eek:

I was taking a rest day from running but we will see what happens as the day progresses. I may go tonight,depending on how much I eat today!

Wendy** The salad yesterday was pretty good. I convinced my boss to buy us mcdonalds...."us" meaning him and me:) It didn't take much convincing. I said "you should buy us mcdonalds" and he passed over his cc.:p The dressing comes on the side and its a vingerette. I should check out the cals. I may have another one today. Probably have to buy it myself though.

Diana** I think my shoulders and tris were sore yesterday and I think my bics will be sore today. I figured my legs would be sore and thats why I wanted to put it off. Did you take DS to the Dr after?There is a stomach bug going around here!

Good Morning, chicas!

I am oh so tired today!! Totally draggin' my butt around...skipped any sort of workout this morning and snoozed the alarm for an hour...again :rolleyes: I'll be shooting for a workout after work today, though. It's raining here today (and for the next eight days according to the weather reports :mad:), so I don't think I'll be getting my lunchtime walk in either. I'll be sleeping on my desk by two if I'm not careful.

Wendy: You did a great job with all your steps yesterday! I tried my hardest to outstep you ;) but just couldn't pull it off. I ended the day with 16,772 and 2400 cals. burned. Campare that to today, and so far I've only got 1385 :rolleyes: I'm about 3-4k behind already! WOW to you and your BF on her weight loss! Huge accomplishment for her getting it done, and great accomplishment for you, too, for setting her and helping her along that path. That's awesome. But yeah, I totally would have had that treadmill fixed by now.

Lori: I feel for you on the sleepless night. Mine was similar...not as bad as yours...but I too had a horrible time getting to sleep, then I was up with bad dreams at least twice. Don't know what that's all about. Second night in a row for that. I hope you get a chance to rest up tonight.

Diana: Been there, done that on falling off the step. I did it more times than I can count while trying to learn the 4DS choreo. (I still laughed at you a bit though ;)) Sorry to hear DS is having a hard time shaking that virus. The meds will knock it out of him once and for all, hopefully. The only way I can get that number of steps in with an office job is by making sure I get my workout in in the morning and then using my lunch hour for a walk. Yesterday I logged three miles on the treadmill and then three miles at lunch. That got me about 13k there, and then all the residual stuff (cleaning the house, bathroom trips, etc.) added up to about another 3500. If I didn't count my workout, I'd never make it to 10k.

Morning Ladies ..

My mother looked SO MUCH better yesterday :) she had color - was talking clearly - got up 2 times and walked by herself .. her arm has gone down ... looking good!!! I am hoping that she may get out by tomorrow . OH I HOPE so .. I sure do need some destressed down time at the house ... my brother is going down this afternoon .. he always is better at finding out info than I am!!! SIL dad had a reaction to the anesthesia .. so they kept him .. have not heard from her this morning ...

I did make the b-day party and managed to get the hair cut too .. :D ... I didnt have a margarita .. but I DID indulge in some CABS AND nachos :eek: .. oh but it was SO GOOD!!! :p

Wendy and Jen... LOL .. I KNEW you two couldn't resist competing on the steps .. ya'll are tickling me!!! :p and WOW .. pushing each other to do some amazing numbers on the steps too!! WOW :eek:

Lori .. LOL about the coffee shop person .. NO WONDER the orders arent right ... LOL ..

Di .. sorry about the trip/fall .. and backwards no least .. WOW .. glad you were not hurt ... when people trip in class I hold my breath until they get up .. scares the crap outta me and no laughing matter ... be careful girlie!!! saw all the tornados on the news .. hopefully none around your area!!!

Jacque .. I thought of you this morning .. at 7:00 a.m. it was 80 degrees out :confused: although prbly not your kind of 80 .. hot humid and sticky down here .. YUCK!!!! Summer came early down here .. we are in a heat wave!!! :cool:

OK .. not sure if I can make a lunch time w/o .. but tonight is PLYO class .. so gotta save the strength anyways ... one of my friends has signed up for a plyo class in her home town .. (she does not exercise) .. I warned her .. she is gonna be hurting tomorrow .. wish she would have tried mine .. I could watch her and give her modifications!! OK .. gotta jet .. have a great one .. No worries, Jen, not getting my steps in by any leaps and bounds here either. Just over 3000 and it's 2pm! I took off the ped for my work out. Perhaps I shouldn't have! :p

I did Muscle Max Timesaver Premix this afternoon. That should leave me sore tmrw! ;)

Lori:: So is it a McD's salad for lunch again today? Sorry about your lack of sleep. Hope you get some well deserved rest soon.

Jen:: Thanks re BF's weight loss. It was quite the journey for both of us. She has lost some strength and lots of cardio endurance but she is STILL in soooo much better shape then she used to be. If she sticks with it this time she'll be doin' Cathe work outs in no time! ;) Sorry you are tired. What work out are you planning on doing tonight?

Laura:: YAY for you mom! Glad she is improving! Sending vibes for continued recovery! My 5 mile run is the ONLY reason I beat Jen out y'day. With out it, I would not have even come CLOSE! :p

So I'm gettin' uber excited for tmrw! Mom and I should be on the road heading for the casinos by about 4ish. WOO HOO! Can't wait to get down there and get a Martini in my hand! :D I have to get through a shift at work first though. I can't complain. I've had the past 2 days off....

Hi ladies,

No workout this morning, unless running down to the basement and back upstairs several times counts!:D It is DH's birthday and I had DS bring me up a box and wrapping paper from the basement. He brought up a huge box, like for moving, not a gift box. What do you expect from a 13 yr old anyway.

The rotation called for B&G today but I will be doing heavy legs at the rec ctr instead.

I made a chocolate cake last night and will frost it tonight. Usually he asks for Chocolate Cheesecake, but regular cake is the lesser of 2 evils. We will also be going out to dinner too... I will try to keep it to chicken or fish for me anyway.

Wendy-I feel so fortunate to live in an area full of rec ctrs that accomodate all ages, pools, weight equipment, all kinds of classes, etc. I belong to two rec ctrs. My company pays 90% of the cost for the rec ctr near my work, and the one (less than a mile from my house) I pay $300/yr. The fee includes all regular classes, weight room, gym, pool etc. and I do get a discounted rate on all specialty classes-bootcamp, Fall and Spring Fitness challenges etc.

Lori-I would have to say my triceps were the most sore during STS, especially the last 4 weeks. Maybe you should give those running legs of yours a break today.:D

Jen-I always check my email and calendar first thing when I get in. If nothing's really going on or needing my attention then often times I check the local weather and news.

Laura-glad Mom is doing much better. When I was on the Cathe Road Trip last year, one gal's step wasn't secure and it collapsed and she fell and hurt herself. She was on crutches the remainder of the RT. I could see where that would be very scary. Our temps are starting to get up there, mid 80's this week, but its dry here. The closest tornado to us was about 1-2 miles away, a little too close for my comfort.

So I watched several of the Fat-X vids on the website. The work outs look like fun and I don't think they are longer then 30 mins a piece. I think I will give it a shot when I am done with 4DS...That being said, have I enabled you enough yet? :p
 
Laura: Soooo happy to hear mom is doing better!! I know that'll take a huge amount of stress off of you. Now hopefully SIL's dad will be fast on the road to recovery as well.

Wendy: Great job getting Muscle Max done. I haven't done that one yet. I got it a couple months ago but never got a chance to use it. Is that heavy weights? I'm thinking of sticking with Jari's a few more workouts until I'm feeling no more pain. It's starting to feel better, but it's not gone yet, and I know half the problem is that I'm not letting it completely heal before I push myself through something. I did get out for a walk at lunch today, so I'm up over 8k so far :) What kind of martini will you be enjoying? You're making me crave a cosmo! And I am resisting the temptation of Fat-X, you evil enabler, you :p

Diana: Sounds like DH is going to get a little spoiling for his birthday! I'll second the request that you send him our birthday wishes. Hope you all have a great time tonight.

Afternoon Ladies .. almost 5:00!!! :)

Mom is STILL in hospital .. they are more worried about her blood clot now ... :( ... DB had to go on a search warrant so not sure if he is going to make it down there today .. ???? I am still hoping that she will get to go home tomorrow .. I HOPE!!!

SIL Dad got to go home .. he is better ... has drain tubes and is in pain .. but he is better!!

Di .. hope DH has a good b-day .. tell him Happy B-day from your Southern pal!!!

Jen .. Muscle Max is one of my top 5 favorite workouts! you are gonna love it!!

I am so ready for a hot sweaty plyo workout .. my legs are STILL really sore .. but sure plyo will work it out for me .. LOL!!!! OK .. have a great one ... and great sweaty workouts!:D
 
Hey Girls,

I made it to the rec ctr for some heavy leg training. I added in step ups on a weight bench for a little variety.. and I did some assisted pullups too! The bench I was stepping up on to was pretty high and I was only using 1 15# DB and I only could manage 2 sets of 12. That higher bench really got in that glute/ham tie in area. I finished off with some weighted ab work and even did some leg work using the ball...ala GS Legs.

Wendy-NO NO NO, you are not enabling me. :p I still need to do the KB w/o I bought from you, my BL w/o's that haven't been opened yet. I should probably work with what I have before I order more. Thanks for BD wish for DH!

Jen-MM is a great total body workout. Just use the weights you feel comfortable with and you should be fine. Although you may want to skip the ab work if your still sore in that area. DH will love hearing all your BD wishes.

Laura-Sending well wishes to MOM. I hope she gets out soon too. DH loves your backyard w/pool and open space all around. Yep- I showed him your pool room pics and backyard. We live in a neighborhood and have 6ft privacy fence around our backyard.

Just quickly running through or I'll never get my workout in. Very early and busy day yesterday through about 9:30 last night so no posting. Read a bit though. :p Did nearly all of Power Hour last night and hit 6K steps.

Just finished reading y'day and today and quickly since Wendy is "leaving us" for a bit - I am sooo seriously thinking of caving on the FitBit. Been totally staggering cals this week and no budge on the scale at all ! I admit I drink a few 64's a day, but that is equal to a glass + a bit of wine. Not that bad is it? Otherwise I am about 95% clean I swear ! So, need to do something or I'll just end up starving myself pretty soon. And, I have added extra cardio too! :confused:

Will BBL tonight to catch up but will post tomorrow so it will be easier ! :rolleyes:
 
I'll do it this weekend, promise ! :p

Went to the bank today to deposit checks and will pay bills & order FitBit as soon as I get into online $ mode.

You just win lots of $$$$ so you don't cave ! :eek: Kidding of course !
