Happy New Year Ladies!!!
DH and I enjoyed a night in with our lovely little ladies. The girls and I made brownies which was pretty fun for them. Then DH put a Justin Bieber concert on TV and the girls danced and played, wish I would've recorded it. They are so much fun.

Not much to report on the workout front. I will a pick a workout for today and tomorrow, then it's back to work for me on Tuesday. DH will be providing my transportation to and from work this week. The bandaging and stitches will be removed on Thursday and I'm hoping I'll be released to drive then.

DH bought a car for DS, OMG its a 1996 Buick Riviera...a gigantic boat. It is fully loaded, leather interior, climate control, sunroof, power everything. DS won't be 16 until late February, but a car/boat awaits him.:)

Wendy-Hope you are winning big in AC!! Criss Cross Cardio arrived and I previewed some of it. It does appear to move pretty quickly after the warmup. I think I can hang with it though...with a little practice of course. The ab/leg work look great and I'm looking forward to trying the ab work today!

Laura-how did you ring in the New Year?

Allee-hoping 2012 is off to a great start for you!

Lori-Let the countdown begin....what is it...3.7 weeks to go??? Your in the home stretch.

Good Evening Ladies!

AC was fun. Got back this afternoon. Right before we left though and I mean literally 5 MINUTES before, our hot water heater broke and started leaking!!! Because it's upstairs it started to leak through the floor and was coming down in our bedroom doorway! Had to hurry up and attach a hose to it so it could drain and then sop up the water it already leaked so that it would stop raining in our house! LOL We got it under control and were able to go to AC about 30 minutes later. No hot water though until it's fixed (hopefully tmrw) so no showers! I worked out a little while ago and took what amounted to a sponge bath after and used dry shampoo on my hair. It's ok for now but I hope it doesn't last more then a day or two! We were very lucky though b/c if the water heater broke/started to leak after we left then that would have meant that 40 gallons of water would have leaked through the ceiling while we were gone! Probably would not have had much of a ceiling left when we got home! Could have been REALLY bad!:eek::eek:

So my work out was Athletic Training's Athletic Step Extreme Premix (45 mins). First time doing it. I enjoyed it. :)

I am considering joining a gym again so I can get back into running and may do so tmrw. Perfect timing...I will have some place to shower til the water heater is fixed! ;)

Diana:: Sounds like your girls had a fun NYE! :D Wow how exciting-your DS' first car! Mine was a hand me down from my grandparents to my sister and then from my sister to me...I got my DL in 1990 and my first car was a 1978 oldmobile cutlass supreme in an ugly light green color!

K, time for dinner! BB tmrw!:)

Hi Ladies,

I have mixed feelings about going back to work tomorrow. I've really enjoyed being off and spending time with the girls. This week is DH's turn to stay with them.

Not many workouts have been had during the past few weeks, but I'm easing my way back into it. Its harder to w/o when DH is home since he doesn't think I should be doing anything and I don't want to start a fight. Seriously, my upper body is fine. Today will be GS C&T and abs. Yesterday all I managed was 100 kb swings with a 20# kb and the standing ab work from criss cross cardio. I can go heavier but don't feel very stable, once the bandaging comes off and I can stand with my weight evenly on both feet then I will increase the weight. Let me just say my inner thighs are feeling all those swings from yesterday. It's a FB challenge, 100 KB swings per day.

Wendy-OMG, glad you discovered the leaky water heater before you left. That would've been quite damaging. You should be able to get a discount on your gym membership if you sign up now. My rec ctr is offering a 25% discount right now.

100 kb swings with 25# KB-Check

STS No Equip Abs-Check

50 hip lift with 50# plate-Check

Off to shower and get busy on some chores!

Good Evening Diana! Thanks for starting the new thread for the new year!:)

Today's work out was BR's 20 minute interval cardio. The first BR I ever did and still a fave of mine! :) I added the UGI ball for extra resistance where I could and added on 5 mins of abs when I was done. Planned on a longer work out for today but I was waiting to see how the water heater replacement was going before I exercised and by the time the job was finished I didn't have a ton of time left to work out. Oh well. Not worried!

Time for dinner and a little more work on my Body Rock Bible!

See y'all in the morning-back to work! Booh! :(

Wendy-I want to know what your BR bible looks like when you're done. I may copy it!:p You unknowingly convinced me to purchase more page protectors for BR or Cathe or really any workouts.

Good Morning.

The newest BR posted is the start of a 30 Day Challenge for the new year. The first w/o is a 7 minute fit test which I took this morning (7 exercises done interval style-max reps (50 sec work/ 10 secs rest). I followed it up with the Lower Body Blitz premix from KCM Split Sessions b/c even for me...7 mins isn't a long enough w/o! :p Now I can't wait to see what the first actual w/o for this BR challenge is! :D

Diana:: My "bible" isn't organized at all. It's just neat. I am typing up and printing out all of the BR's I've done plus some I wanted to do but haven't gotten to them yet. I also intend to add to it every time I do a new one! I considered trying to organize them further by style of training, focus, etc but that would just take way too much work! :p I will just be happy to have a neat binder of w/o's to refer back to rather then a crumpled mess of papers that are scribbled on! LOL Great work out for you y'day! Resembles something that I would do! Love it! :D So what's the focus of the FB challenge you are doing?

Hi Girls:)

Since its a new thread and I new year, I am going to try and keep up with this one. Not to mention, Im not working so what else am I going to do?;) I called today to get my unemployment straightened out but no one called me back:confused: I should try calling her again, I did leave a message telling her what I needed done so maybe she just went ahead and started doing it....a girl can only hope!

Sounds like Wendy as already started some nice workouts! :) My time is a com'in! I had all of my lulu moved out into the garage b/c DD was wearing it and so were all of her friends:confused: So I packed it up before it went MIA. I asked him today if he could bring it in for me. I swear I think I am going to have this baby and jump right on the TM in my old workout clothes:eek: I still have 3 weeks to go plus healing time! I won't be needing it yet. I ordered some new things after Chritmas. I am afraid my sickness is returning but I have to bite it in the butt b/c my income is going to be lower and I still have all of my old stuff to fit back into.

We had a pretty quiet NY's. We went out for dinner with the family and then came back to the house and had fireworks for the kids. Then a few friends stopped by...all my pregnant gf's who didn't care to be around drunk people. Other then that, it was pretty uneventful. I think NY's is over rated anyway.

I went for a massage the other day and the girl who did my massge told me of a opening for a PT in the near future! Not until July which might be perfect timing for moi!

Diana** How long are the girls with you? Seems like you have had them a while. You will be so lonely when they go home:( When do you think you will be working out again? I can't wait to get back at it. I should take a few days and figure out what I am going to do. I can probably start with weights before anything else. I can only imagine how those high intensity dvds are gonna kill me! 23 days to go.......(hopefully) or maybe less!

Wendy** Oh man...its a good thing you were home when that happened. I friends of mine had a pipe break in her basement on boxing day. She is a pack rat but claimed to have dung out her basement before this even happened. I swear she still has things from the 1980's.

I had a Dr's appt today that was pretty boring. I will be seeing the Dr every week now. I don't think there is a real big baby in there. I wasn't measuring big today but he is kind of flicky and moves fast. I don't think he took the measurments right. Either way a 6-7 lbs baby is good enough for me. 1-2 more lbs isn't going to make that much difference at diet time. I think my weight gain is around 36 now:eek: LOL I am a totally different shape then i was with DS. Im all belly this time.

Anyway...I am going to try my hardest to keep up with month. This is a exciting month for us. DS's bday is tomorrow, baby coming, my sister is coming.....and hopefully we will get some news on DH's new career!

I will bb tomorrow!

Lori:)

Tue that is a MON .. at 3rd of mnth after a holiday ..EEEEEEEEKKKKKKKK

 WOW it is ISNANE in here!!!

Had a WONDERFUL holiday - we partied and partied - sang kareoke (wasnt pretty) - toasted and just a wonderful time - then we went to casino next day.. had a BLAST .. I finally didnt loose arse .. I actually came home with a litte bit ahead of what I took .. :D ..

My VBF furbaby died - she was old - and really died of old age - kidney failure - but that doesnt help the loss - she and her DH are devestated .. and my heart breaks for them. And my Baby Buster is showing his age - moving slower - sleeping more - not eating good .. :( :( :(.... it is going to KILL me ... when that day comes .. :(:(:(:(:(

Wendy - LOLOLOL .. my first car was a cutlass supreme too - i got it in 1982 or 83 .... and it was about 5 or 6 years old when I got it .. 4 door - and someone ran into side and made huge dent in door and daddy wouldnt fix it for me .. so thru highschool it was referred to as "THE DENT" ... .. but we all piled in and rode and thought we were something in it .. LOLOLOL ... YOU ARE LUCKY ya'll caught that leak before leaving town .. yikes .. that would have been major mess .. and major MONEY ..

Di - sounds like you and your family had a great new year... too bad you coudlnt have videoed the girls .. that is great footage for when they get older .. LOL ... how is your foot???

hello to all that follow..

I managed some BH workouts .. and p90x2 workouts .. NOT what I was expecting from p90x2 .. every move is multi functional .. and so far all lighter weights and most of emphasis is on core and balance strength ... very good .. just not what I was expecting ...

tonight will be my first day back to class .. ugh ... and it is FREEZING here .. to be 22 tonight .. BBBBBBERRRRRRRRR .. tonight will be mish mosh of cardio, plyo, plank work, and weight work  :D

gotta jet have a great one!

Hi Ladies,

It was back to work for me today. No workout to report for this morning, but I may try to get to it after the girls go to bed, otherwise it will be tomorrow morning.

My foot seems to be doing okay, and I'm so looking forward to Thursday when the bandaging and stitches are removed. I should know more after this appt. Hopefully I'll be released to drive. The next appt is scheduled for Jan 30th, the 6 week mark. I've already signed up for the Spring Fitness Challenge at the rec ctr and it starts on Feb 6th.

Laura-glad to hear you had a fab new year!!! Have you tried the PAPS workouts yet? I previewed them and they looked good to me. Nothing really new, but good just the same. Which X2 workouts did you do? I know Plyocide was not nearly as difficult as I was anticipating. Even though I couldn't do the plyo pushups and another exercise I can't recall towards the end of the w/o. Have your ever hear of the ViPR...our rec ctr is now offering ViPR classes and I guess this type of training is used on the Biggest Loser. ViPRfit.com - the website of ViPR and the home of whole body integration Sorry your temps are 60's cold....but we are in the 60's this week!!!:p

Lori-glad your back! Good idea hiding the lulu so you don't lose it to dd's friends. The girls fly home on the 15th of this month, the day after their 4th birthday. We will be having a birthday party for them too! You should start back with your favorite weight training, I recall that as being High Reps! :D Did you get the low impact series?

Wendy-I was previewing the BR site and thought about doing the fit test until I previewed and realized I couldn't do the exercises yet. I think their 30 day challenge sounds great though. I've copied and pasted the BR w/o's into a word doc and then printed them off. Admittedly, there are some scribbled down on pieces of paper though. I wish their site was more user friendly.

Hi Allee....pop in when you can.

Good Morning.

Today was the BR Challenge Day 2. It's a 12 minute interval cardio routine that kicked my @$$!!! I followed it up with KCM Split Sessions Push Premix. 10 minutes long. Triceps/Chest work. Good stuff! ;)

Lori: Welcome back! So you have a PT job lined up already huh? So did you QUIT the job at the airport or are you just off on maternity leave? I'm not sure...I thought you just went on leave but you are talking about unemployment so perhaps you left?? I resigned when I left to have DS and couldn't collect a penny of unemployment (only my maternity leave $ coz I resigned as of when I would have been going back to work) but maybe Canada is different....

Laura:: Losing pets is always hard. Losing my cat who wasn't the nicest animal in the universe was even tough! LOL Yup VERY lucky we were still home when the water heater went...WOW! I shudder to think what we would have come home to!!!:eek::( Love the story about your first car! That's awesome! My BF was doing donuts in a gravel parking lot with mine one day and slammed it into a dumpster so it too had a huge dent in it's side too!!! Wierd huh?

Diana:: I don't watch BL so I am not familiar with the style of training offered in the class you are going to take. I clicked the link and my eyes bugged outta my head when I saw the "contraption" they use! That thing looks dangerous! LOL  You will have to let us know how it is! So are you considering giving the BR challenge a go once you are all clear to work out like normal again?

Hi Ladies,

Tossed and turned all night long and have no energy or time to workout this morning.

Wendy-I don't watch BL either, just what the rec ctr is advertising. It appears to just be another weighted object. To be honest, it appears that you could use a weighted body bar in the same fashion as the ViPR.

WED

Hey ..

well had THE SMALLEST class for first of JAN ever .. and more problems w/owners of gym ..the woman is unreasonable .. and a total B#### .. she has ran off 4 of my regular students b/c of how rude she is .. IDK .. thinking this is the end of my teaching there .. I have been unhappy w/them for a while .. and they have NO customer service skills and apparetnly NO IDEA of how to run a business .. I gotta go!!! CANT TAKE IT ....... If it were not for my regulars who BEG me to keep teaching I wouldnt go back again .. I would be DONE!!!

Di - what city do you live in - b/c you have the most INNOVATIVE.. UP TO DATE .. classes offered there .. WOW .... I wish I could open a cutting edge place up here .. WE NEED IT DESPERATELY .. but it takes $$$$$$$ .. soooooooo :( P90x2 : I have done all the first ones BUT the yoga (prbly the one I need the most) ... seems the first phase is more about balance and core strength than the rest of it .. yes I looked at the PAPS part and it looks awesome .. yes the plyocide is a LOT easier than I thought .. but difficult in a different way .. my plyo class is 100 times harder .. but the plyocide again put the focus on more core and stability than strength and explosive moves ..

WEndy - I swear .. that is funny about our cars ... talk about a eery co-incidences and similarities !!! LOLOLOL .. if I quit teaching I will be doing more BR stuff ... :D.. gotta go check out the one you are talkign about .. yes I need to start a binder .. b/c I forget the ones I do that i like .. and cant find them when i want to do it again ..

Lori - enjoy your time home ... before the bundle of joy comes!!!! and yes .. your lululemon stuff would be GONE if you had not hid it .. LOL .. I dont blame you!!!

well I have determined my class is harder than P90x .. I am soooo freaking sore ... LOL .. OMG .. everything hurts from my torture last night!! I am teachign tonigth - plyo, core, and weights!

OK .. better run .. have a ton of stuff to catch up on .. I am finally at my desk!!! have a great one!!

Laura:: Easiest way to find a BR (providing you know the name of it) is to just GOOGLE it. The search button on the site doesn't work very well. GOOGLE is a much better option! ;) Quit your teaching job and come BR with me! :D LOL..Actually when I am done with this 30 day challenge I am doing there is a good chance I'll be buckling down with a 3 month STS rotation FINALLY...then well...probably right back to BR mix n match with whatever else moves me coz I just LOVE it!!! :p:)

Ok, after careful consideration..yeah right! :p...I think I will do Cathe's 3 month LIS/STS rotation she created when I am done with the BR challenge instead of doing a straight 3 month STS rotation! Anyone care to join? Me and a girl from my other check in are both doing it. :)

Hi Girls:)

Two days in a row:) Aren't you impressed!?

Well for some reason I decided to workout today. Maybe I kind of hope it will bring labor on....:p but Im POOPED!!! I did a 20 mins walk, 15 mins on the bike and I think that's when my sugars dropped. I probably went to long without eating. So I took a break and ate anything with sugar in it:p I know OJ is suppose to be the key for low blood sugar but it gives me heart burn so I tried everything else. I then did 1/2 of HR and that was it...I was DONE! LOL So out of shape:eek: Atleast I have a good reason, right?

Tonight we are going out for dinner for DS's birthday. Im not sure when I will have his party b/c I ordered all of his party supplies online b/c he wanted a angry birds party. I am hoping to be able to pull it off next week sometime.

Diana** I didn't realize that the girls are only a yr younger then DS. Time certainly flies! How is working going today?

Wendy** I didn't leave my job, just have a year off. I will wait and see what the future holds before I tell them Im not coming back. I also left my vaca pay there for when I return and if I don't go back then I will just take it after. I just need to get everything straigthened out with my unemployment crap now! Apparently they are taking longer to process claims here b/c the govt is trying to shut the office down here and move people. So the people that work here and taking their sweet time b/c they want to make it look as if they have tons of work to do..... Thats what I "heard" anyway...I shall find out!

Laura** Sorry to hear you are having troubles at the gym. That really sucks. I guess you are use to full classes after christmas. Its hard when our animals get old! My sisters dog is slowly getting worse but she doesn't want to put him down. When they start crapping everywhere it gets old fast though!

I will bbl tomorrow!

Lori:)

Hi Ladies,

Posting tonight since I won't have time in the morning. So happy my stitches come out tomorrow and hopefully I can get rid of the boot...and drive!!! So looking forward to driving. I'm sick of being stuck at home and relying on others to take me to and fro.

Lori-I can't believe you of all people didn't exercise through your pregnancies. No harm as you whip yourself back into shape in record time. I knew High Reps would be a go to w/o for you. Definitely keep up your food intake if you are going to w/o. I'm having so much fun with the girls. It is much less stressful being a grandparent than being a parent.:p Is DD getting her driver's license soon? DS will be getting his next month.

Wendy-I'm also considering doing the LIS/STS 3 month rotation. I'm torn between that and the P90X2 rotation. I'll have to review them both for any impact work and make a decision based on which rotation I'll be able to do the most exercises for. So are you looking at a Feb. start date for this rotation?

Laura-sorry about the gym troubles, that's no fun. I'm sure your regulars love you. I live in a suburb north of Denver and we have plenty of gyms and rec ctrs in my area. They recently opened a lifetime fitness, it is amazing but I cannot afford the membership there...about $100/month. My rec ctr is $300/year and the rec ctr near my work is $18/month and my company covers the rest.

Allee-hope this year is off to a great start for you!

Hi Girls,

Thought I would check in while the house is nice and quiet and I can use the iPad. DH bought a iPad for DS for Christmas, even though I wasn't totally on board with the idea.....guessing that's why he didn't tell me about it! Anyway, DS has learned to love it so I only use it when he isn't looking :p

Oddly enough I'm not sore from yesterday's workout (yet). I thought for sure my legs would be sore from those squats.

Diana** I worked out until I reached 30 weeks. I think things were getting uncomfortable and studying was my main priority. So it had been a few weeks since I did anything. Oh.... And my back. My back gets sore if I'm on the go a lot and after I workout it would be sore for the rest of the day. I'm not overly worried about getting back in shape after. I think my life is going to be pretty busy!

Have a good day everyone. I don't think I will be working out again today. I have a few things on the go so I am going to shower and get to it!

Lori:D

Good Morning.

Today I did Day 3 of the BR challenge. It consisted of a 12 min weighted strength and cardio interval work out plus a timed weight work out of 4 exercises @ 15 reps each (took about 10 mins) and when I was done with that I did KCM Split Sessions Pull (back/bi) Premix (12 mins). Awesome work out! I was spent when I was done!

Diana:: Yes, starting the STS/LIS rotation in February. I don't have an exact date yet. Need to see when the BR challenge ends and decide from there. That would be cool if you were to do it too! :)

Lori:: That's what I should have done when I had DS...taken one year off and then gone back to work. I was home for like 4 years and it was way too long for me. UGH...Did I read that right-DS has an IPAD!?! WOW lucky kid! ;) My DS is 6 and has an ipod touch but ONLY because he won/earned it on a parent/child bowling league he was on with DH last summer. We never would have bought him one. Are we mean??

Hi ladies,

Stitches and initial bandaging have been removed. Unfortunately for me, they rebandaged my foot and I have to wear the boot for 4 more weeks. In 2 weeks I can remove the current bandaging and get my foot wet...yyyaaaayyyyyy. That will be the 19th of January. Thankfully they washed my foot with alcohol today so it's not all stinky! No driving for at least 2 more weeks though. Guess it will be UB only for me for a while longer...ugh.

Wendy-nice w/o girl! No, you are not mean. When DS3 was little he wanted an ipod like his older brothers had. Well we gave him a portable radio with headphones that we pd $10 bucks for and told him it was his ipod. He was quite happy with that for a long time. Of course now he really wants his own ipod and doesn't have one yet. He got a laptop for Christmas and want the new Nook tablet for his birthday. He may be buying himself his own ipod. Looking forward to doing the LIS/STS rotation with you in February!

Lori-Enjoy your rest day today. What is DS getting for his Birthday if he got an Ipad for Christmas?

Hi to Laura and Allee.

We must be a boring bunch, seems like people join...then leave our group.
