Cathlete
Affirm, I hope you got some rest last night and that your son is better.

Rose did you go to the ER today?? I hope your back is better.

I was supposed to do heavy legs today, but DH's back was bothering him. So I did as heavy as I could get over my head which is 65#. After warming up with lighter wts I did 65# squats for 10, 10, 10 & 8. Then did RDL 100# for 4 sets of 6 reps. Bulgarian squats 12# DBs each hand 3 sets of 8 and calf raises 55#BB 30, 30 & 25. I followed that up with LIS without the blasts. It was hard enough getting my legs to step, much less do blasts at that point  I have had a couple of small treats today, but nothing to bad!!

Oh, and I ordered my squat rack today!! No more waiting on DH to help YIPPEEEE!!! This is the one that I ordered. It's a bench/squat rack:

Yes, I slept well last night. Son is still ill, but didn't get up as much through the night. This morning I did Rhythmic Step , minus the challenge at the end.

Fitfairy, I can't imagine lifting 65 lbs over my head.

This morning was Muscle Max for a total body workout. Wow---do I love those leg presses with the band!! My son is still sick so I am taking him to the doctor today.

OK Affirm, now I know you are officially crazy!! Anyone who likes any kind of leg press is a bit nutso! :7 ;7 I hope you son is ok!!

Rose, I am worried about ya girl. Are ya ok?

I did 4DS upper body premix this evening. My chest is on fire!! Oh, and I ate two no bake cookies today (chocolate oatmeal is what I always call them) :9 Hey, at least there was oatmeal for fiber :+

I agree with you on the oatmeal for fiber!! ....Oh do I love oatmeal cookies.

My son has is not doing well. He has pneumonia, so He will be home most of the week taking his treatments and other meds. If he responds well to the meds, they think he should feel better in 3 days. He has asthma so sometimes when he gets a cold, it is just a cold and there are times when it is more....you just never know. He was a little cranky this evening, but I hope he sleeps well tonight.

Those are about the only leg presses that I like. I sure hate those tall box presses. That is just too much for me!

Hey ladies!! No workout for me yesterday. I had a couple of episodes of vertigo at work and was slightly dizzy most of the afternoon. So I decided to relax last night.

Better today, still occasionally dizzy. This evening I did PS legs (standing) and chinups. My chinup sets are getting better but not where they were. But I'll take improvement!! I did sets of 5,6,5,4,4,3,3,&3. Eating was good today.

Affirm, I hope your son is ok. Sending lots of healing vibes!!

Rose, I hope you are ok!! Miss you around here. Let us know how you are doing!!!

Rose, I hope you are doing okay. I know you were having problems with your back again. Please update us on how you are doing.

My son is doing better and will return to school next week. I haven't exercised the last 2 days. I also ate a couple of pieces of chocolate today. Otherwise, things are good.

Fitfairy, I hope you are not having anymore dizzy spells. At least you knew to get some rest and I hope it helped.

Affirm, glad your son is better. I too had a piece of chocolate today :9 I am sure you needed the rest to take care of your son!!

Rose, please let us know how you are!!

I haven't had anymore dizzy spells. Well, not the bad ones I had on Tuesday. I have allergies so my head can be swimmy (I'm sure not a word) at any time LOL!! I did KenpoX+ this evening. WOW, a big change from the original KenpoX and in a good way.

Whew! Ladies I'm so happy to be checkin' in. I can finally sit in front of my computer (not for long yet). I have been in bed for pretty much this whole week. The year just started and I'm taking sick days already, but I'm going to work next week. I'm just so bored around here! I've been watching some old Firm and yoga videos (I'm so glad I never sold them) because as soon as I can exercise I will start with that and not Cathe. I've been on tons of meds for my pain. My back is worse and the doctor told me the day I went to the ER that I should consider having surgery because my back might feel better in a couple of weeks but that every time he sees me it'll get worse and worse (my disks are in pretty bad condition and they can't be fixed by themselves). I was told to start taking Move Free Advanced again (that's a glucosamine/chondroitin supplement) and keep taking it. I took it for a couple of months last year and when my back felt like a 12 year old I stopped taking it which was probably a big mistake. I was also told to start retraining my body to fall asleep on my back and not on the side or on my stomach (whoa that is really hard for me, I can fall asleep in any position, the fetal position being one of my favorites :p). So that's pretty much my update.

I read your posts pretty quick so sorry if I missed anything. I'm glad your son is feeling better Affirm. Catherine, dizzy spells are not good, I usually stop what I'm doing when I get them. If you did KenpoX you're probably much better now.:7

Well, I'm saving for STS (I'm hoping I'll have the $$$ saved by the end of the month or by the beginning of Feb). I really want those. I didn't buy 4ds and I've been wanting a P90X type of workout from Cathe for a long time. I never bought P90X because I knew Cathe would come out with something much better than that. I'm glad it's strength training only also. The reason I didn't buy 4ds was that I just can't do Cathe's cardio workouts like I used to and they were going to end up gathering dust like a lot of other workouts I have. I figured I can use STS for 6-9 months or even a whole year if I wanted to without getting bored. If I'm going to do different workouts every week for 3 1/2 months by the end of the series I can start again from the beginning and hopefully my 1RM will be higher every time I repeat the whole series. The only issue would be planning out the cardios to go with STS. I have a weight training station with leg curl/leg extension, lat pull down, bench press/squat rack, dip bars, and pec fly extensions. I don't use it because when I still had my cat he scratched the bench and I had to take it off so there are two pieces of wood instead of a bench now lol! I would have to fix that. I have a pair of adjustable dumbbells (I just need to fix one of them which is kind of stuck in one of the ends) and get extra plates. That's just if I need dumbbells heavier than 25lbs (because that's the highest weight I have in hex dumbbells). I have enough equipment for my barbells so at least I'm prepared for that. See I got it all planned out. Now I have to take care of my back and save the rest of the money. At least I have something to look forward to this year.

Ok my post was long lol! I had tons of things to say today. That's what happens when I can't post for a whole week. I hope you ladies have a nice weekend. Please cross your fingers for me. I'm stuck in a rut with this back thing and it's taking a lot of things with it as well (I'm really depressed because I don't know what will happen with my job, or if I'm going to be able to go back to school, etc) so keep those fingers crossed. Take care and **HUGS**!!!!

Catherine, I just checked out your new squat rack. I LOVE IT! I wonder if they sell it at my local Walmart. I would have to check if they have it (they don't ship heavy equipment like that one to PR so I have to buy it at the store). That price is ridiculously low and it looks so much better and less cluttered than the one I have. My list is getting longer and longer. Oh boy!

Rose!!! So glad to hear from ya girl!! I just knew you were down on your back literally. When are you gonna decide about surgery?? I hope you are better soon.

Oh and that squat rack is such a bargain!! I can not wait to get it. It says online that they will ship it to the store for free. I don't know if that applies in PR though. Maybe check it out!!!

I did half of IntervalX+ this morning. Ran out of time and had to get moving to get hair cut. Planning to do heavy upper body here in a little bit.

Catch you all later!!

Finished heavy upper body earlier and made improvements on several exercises. Mainly concerned with improving my bench press, which I did!! Getting ready for STS ya know ;)

Wish I could say that eating was good. Was not too bad, but not the best either. Gotta support all of that muscle building I am trying to do :+

It looks like my squat rack won't be here till next week x( Guess I'll just have to make due with DH LOL!!

I hope you ladies have a great weekend!

Rose, I glad you were able to update us. I realize that this must be a difficult decision for you to make. Please take your time and continue to talk with your doctor.

I also have my old FIRM videos. I know what you mean about using them. There have been times that I haven't felt that great or coming back form a long time off and I pop a couple of them in to get back in the groove of things. There are few of the FIRM that I love. Even though we are devoted Cathe fans, I think we will always have an appreciation for the FIRM as that is where many of us started out. All my FIRMs are on VHS, so I know I will never sell them.

My son is feeling much better. Now, my body is aching and I have a cold. I am glad it is a holiday weekend, so I can get some rest and be ready for work next week. I really don't want to take any more days off if I don't have too.

Affirm, I am so glad that your son is better. But dang it, now it sounds like you have it x( Please rest and take care of yourself!!

I totally agree with you all on pulling out old stuff to ease back into things more intense. Sometimes it's difficult to modify Cathe enough with certain things.

I just did DM scrambled cardio blast. Does anyone do these without adding a break between sessions. I mean you get like 2 whole seconds before the card comes up and says next,... and then you're off again. I have to take at least a 30 second break between segements. I am hoping to do abs later. Right now we're heading out to see a matinee of The Bucket List.

I am glad you ladies get the holiday Monday. I don't x( Actually will be busier cause everyone is off. Unless of course it snows }(

I think I have done scrambled cardio once. I can't remember why I don't like it, but I choose not to do that premix with I use DM.
