****Chinning in the New Year****

Well, it's a bran new year ladies!! I started my year off with HIS cardio premix with chinups. Man have my numbers gone down :( That downtime really kicked my butt!! I did 5,5,5,4& 4. Feel sad when I was consistently doing a couple of sets of 7 and occasionally a set of 8 a while ago x(

So what are you ladies doing to bring in the new year???

Catherine-don't be bummed. You are still doing great. I did one chin two days ago. I may try to do one when I get home today but my upper body is sore because I've been doing GS. I have to up my cardio - I've been slacking. Winter -yuk, it has been sooo cold here! I am ready for Spring so I can get out and ride my bike and run. It is suppose to warm up a little this weekend so I am going to get outside.

I did P90X+ total body today. This workout suprised me. Lots of functional fitness moves. No heavy wt work. But it kicked my patootie!!! Did I think about 20 chinups all together. Will maybe try to do some more tomorrow or Sunday. I think I'll try either Interval X+ or KenpoX+ tomorrow.

OK ladies I am starting to feel lonely around here!! Come out come out where ever you are :D

I was supposed to do P90X legs and back tonight and got side tracked. So I did sets of chinups for a total of 30. Small sets of 3 & 4s. Really need to work on getting my numbers back up and getting back on track with these. It's amazing how quickly you lose it x(

It's so lonely around here :( I did IMAX 2 today intervals 1-6 with chinups after some of the blasts. Chinups were 4,5,4,3,&3. That's after doing heavy upper body yesterday. I did 150# lat pull downs on my BowFlex. I also worked my way up to benching 82.5# for 3 reps. Not much on the reps, but that was my last set.

Briee, Joanne, did either of you order P90X+? What about STS?? I preordered this morning. I WILL be getting a squat rack with a bench now }( }(

Ooooh Catherine-you must be lonely. Maybe, we should have chin up check in once a month :7 And, you are right, maybe, we will have more on our check in with STS having pull ups. I am so glad I have a bar. Maybe, I will be doing two in a row by the end of the year.

Yes, I ordered STS but did not order P90X+. I don't think I will be getting a squat rack. A couple of years ago I had a sore arm and couldn't lift my barbell over my head. So, DH put two ladders in my work out area and I put my BB on that. It worked ok but it looked like crap. Maybe, DH can rig something up for me. Or, maybe, I will cave after getting STS and get a squat rack.

Catherine-yes, I am still chinning. Yesterday, I did two (but not in a row). Gosh, I really love doing them. Just when I think I am not going to be able to pull all the way up - I pull up and it is such a great feeling. Well, I know you know that feeling :)

Hi!

I hope you don't mind if I join but it looked like you guys were getting lonely.

I'm in Phase 2 of my 2nd round of P90X. I just did my first wide front pullup yesterday and I'm up to 2 chinups in a row (almost 3). I feel like I'm getting stronger this round and am able to do more reps. I don't do any modifications. I use my Door Gym and it felt too dangerous for me to use a chair for modifications since the only place the Door Gym fit was my bedroom and my stairs are right there so I didn't want to go flying if I made a wrong move. Corn cob pullups are still impossible for me right now.

I was glad to see Cathe had pullups in STS but I'm holding off on preordering until at least they announce when the first price increase will be. I'm about to move and my budget is tight. I just ordered the X+ workouts and I have so many workouts to keep me busy. I'd like a little more detail on STS before I preorder.

Catherine - I'm impressed - 20 chinups!:) I've been hearing all good things about the + workouts so I think I'll be happy even though they're not heavy weights (which is what I love). Endurance workouts are not my friends.

Joanne - I love doing them too. It is such a glorious feeling to get my chin over that bar!

Hi Marcy-It is so nice to hear from another chinster. I am not familiar with corn cob pull ups. What the heck are those - they sound hard :eek:

Hi Joanne - Corn cob pullups are in the P90X Back & Biceps workout. You pull up, slide your chin to the right, to the left, back to center and down. Do they sound even harder now?

Hey Marci, glad you joined us!! The 20 chinups was not 20 in a row. It was total per w/o. I've been working at this a long time. I have on a couple of occasions done 8 in a row. Was consistently doing a couple of sets of 7 and got sick. Now I am back to doing smaller sets x(


WTG on your wide front pull up. I haven't done a pullup in so long I wonder if I can still do them :+

I almost did a back flip (if I could do one) when I read that Cathe was putting pullups in STS!!!

Okay, you made me feel better now. For Legs & Back on Monday, I did 4 full chinups. I usually count them as 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, between 3/4 and bar level, bar level and full. This way each week I feel like I'm getting a little closer to a full one.

I was also excited over Cathe doing pullups in STS. Did you preorder?

I just got my X+ workouts last night and I can't wait to preview. From the worksheets, there's a 7 point pullup (sounds scary) in the Upper Plus workout.

Hey Marcy!! I did preoreder STS. I also just ordered a squat rack }( I've been wanting one and STS gave me even more incentive :D DH wasn't too happy, but oh well!

Today I did PS legs (standing) with chinups between each leg exercise. I did 5,6,5,4,4,3,3,&3. It seems as though my grip has gotten weaker x( I will get back up to doing 8 in a row if it kills me LOL!!! I really need to start doing some pullups too. This would probably help me with my chinup numbers.

I did most of the ab work this morning. It was great; a nice variety of lots of new moves. I like that he does hanging ab work off the pullup bar. The standing work incorporates some balance in it. He does a leg climb like in ARX but with a scissor. If you keep your feet off the floor, it's more of a challenge. I like Tracy and Mark in this workout. Mark is super ripped. I've never so many stomach muscles.

Good luck with it. I'm sure you'll do fine.

Hello chinsters!! Haven't said that in a while LOL!!

Marcy, I really like the looks of the ab work. I just hate abs x( Briee (another chin-o-maniac) used to call Ab RipperX Ab SkipperX, which rang true with me most of the time :7

I did KenpoX+ this evening and reall liked it. I was a bit challenges with some of the new moves, but no big deal. Practice makes perfect :p I really felt my core working in this workout.

Tomorrow will be heavy upper body. If DH will spot me bench. He won't have to do that much longer once I get my new equipment (insert happy dance)
