Good Morning!

Today I did one of my new I-Treads, #13 "sprints". It's a 30 minute one, where you do 6 sprints, 6 recoveries, then a nice 10 minute stretch at the end. I don;t sprint..I jog when the runner's sprint, and walk for recoverys..

Shelly you would like this one...no inclines.

I'll be back in a bit...

Deb;-)

RE:

Goodmorning Deb et al.

It's my last day of work before vacation! Yipeeeeeee! DH and I are hoping to celebrate yesterday's anniversary with the Indiana Jones movie this evening. Tomorrow I'm meeting my bagel-buddy, running errands and finishing my packing. We hit the road for the Philly airport at 2:30am and expect to be in Spokane at 2:45 (their time). It will be a looooong day. Last night I tried "bundle wrapping" my clothes. It is amazing. A stack of clothes 2 feet tall turned into a flat pile about 6 inches deep. I may have room for more stuff in my carry on.

Tneah, glad to hear all of your teeth are safely home now. I have a friend who just started thyroid meds. He said it would take weeks before he should feel the affect. I hope you get it all straightened out quickly. I know how much I hated the run down feeling the anti-viral med gave me with my shingles. Hugs.

Leanne, was the trail yesterday? How'd it go?

Shelley, one more day of digging? What fun rainy day stuff do you have planned?

Hi to Kara, Jennifer, Lainie, and Shannon. TK? Paging TK. I'll be back later to see what's up with you all.

RE:

Hi,

It's almost the end of the week for me..I am only working a half day today, and taking tomorrow off as well. I also took off yesterday afternoon. Our vacation year ends May 31. I am only able to "carry over" 5 days, and I had 7, so I needed to get these out of the way or I would lose them.

Shelly:
You sleep all you want this week! You certainly deserve a rest! Those stairs sound nasty!}( ...but in a good way! LOL

Jennifer:
Your comment about Aunt Flo not calling ahead cracked me up! LOL:7 Please tell us about the life changing call!

Leanne:
:-( ..what a way to ruin time off! Maybe it won't last long and you will be FREE!..DH and I are flying to Chicago to pick up Keegan. Staying 2 nights. I am still trying to get DH to get the bunnies with the Have a Heart trap. He was going to do it yesterday, but they were not in the nest or in the yard.. ( at least that is what he told me!)..he is trying to convince me that they have "moved on" but I think they have it pretty good here, so why would they move?

Lainie:
I feel so bad for you..first the skin issue, then they burn you to treat it??? I hope it is better today and you were able to get some sleep.

Shannon:
No...no ticks here in western NY ( Buffalo). Cudos for doing your own thing and lifting heavier. I love Cathe, but think she needs to put in some longer time between sets. How did the yucky assignment go?

Robin:
You are getting really close to your trip! YOu must be so excited to be able to take off and do some great hiking! I hope you and DD are able to find a sitter quickly. Who will be doing this while you and DH are away?

Kara:
What are you painting?

Tneah:
Glad to hear your dental issues are gone! :D I too, have been eating "like a bear" this week and am up a couple of pounds.x( ..I just want to eat constantly, not sure why. Hope your DR straightens out the meds ASAP! Keep us posted.

Have a great day!

Deb ;-)

RE:

Hi Robin...we were posting at the same time again!

I have a question...what is bundle wrapping? I am someone that travels a lot and any tips or hints on better packing is always appreciated!:)

RE:

hello Melters.

Today, I'm up and about early, not to workout, but to do work on WORD. Hopefully, tonight, I will be doing some kind of exercise.
At work, it's been too slow. I think they will lay off at least one more person.

Time to get to work before I get ready for work.

RE:

Deb, checkout http://www.onebag.com/ Look under the tab "how to pack it." I heard about it on the radio. It has lists for packing and tells you have to bundle pack. You essentially lay all your clothes on top of each other, then wrap them around a central pile of stuff like socks and underwear.

RE:

Morning all!

Okay, I *really* slept in this morning! Didn't get up until almost 6!

Deb - that iTread sounds great. I'll look into it. I think I've heard others raving about it too. Enjoy your time off!

Robin - I hope you have a fabulous vacay! Do I keep saying that?

Jennifer - I'd love to hear about the life-changing call too!

I'm so behind here. And all I've done all week is eat and eat and eat and NOTHING good or clean. It's awful. I'm gonna be a whale by the time this week is over:(

Well this morning we're off to drop Sophie at school, then to the garden centre, then home to do more planting and gardening. Chris has a co-worker coming over to play a game today, so I'll just putter around. I'm planning a run later and I'll try to get back to check up on what's going on!

RE:

Good morning, everyone!

Robin - oh, you're going to LOVE Yellowstone! I can't wait to hear all about your trip! Bundle wrapping sounds interesting. I roll my clothes. It takes up less space than folding. I'll have to try the bundle thing if I ever travel again. :)

Deb - No ticks. Maybe there are some advantages to living in NY. ;) Yay for time off... don't you love "enforced" vacations? The assignment is coming along. I had to skip one section because I don't have all the info. That'll probably be the worst part, actually. The rest is not too bad at all! Just very time consuming. I'm no where near done.

Shelley - there's no way you'll reach whaledom if you keep climbing those stairs. What're you getting at the garden center????

Yesterday was a no-workout day. The farrier came to trim the horses' hooves. He was delayed and didn't actually get there until about 7, and I didn't get back to the house until 8! But that's okay. I took care of dinner, dishes, etc. before he came. Today will be some elliptical work. My little schedule says I should do CC 5, but I'm having a hankering for #7.

RE:

Good morning, all!

Gotta hurry a bit this morning since I want to work out before heading back into jury duty. We started deliberations yesterday, but I have a feeling that we'll be deliberating for awhile. The guy is a three-time convicted felon who lied about what happened, and yet some people are believing his testimony. UG! I'll let you know how it goes. I finally picked up my new Kettlebell yesterday on my way home, so I'm hoping to play with it this weekend. Off to do Tracey S's Circuit Zone . . . .

Robin -- Happy belated anniversary! Thanks for the Celia Rivenbark recommendation; she sounds great. Did DD find someone to watch Greyor? Although it's going to be a busy day for you, I bet you'll have a blast once you get to Yellowstone. We'll sure miss you!!!

Deb -- Sounds like you had a great workout! Hooray for having the day off tomorrow. How exciting that soon little Keegan will be with you! Do you have any preparations to do before you fly to Chicago?

Tneah -- Hooray for your new teeth! It sounds like the new meds could be causing all your tiredness and also your lack of motivation for staying on target with your food plan. Like Mitch said, it may be a good idea to see a specialist at this point.:)

Shelley -- Don't worry -- you could never be a whale! Sounds like you needed a rest and recovery week!:)

Jennifer -- Keep us posted on how things go at work this week!

Lainie -- Has the burn cleared up a bit? Have you been getting better sleep? Will you go back for your next light treatment tomorrow?

Shannon -- Sounds like the horses have nice trimmed hooves! How is that new project going?

Kara -- Wanted to let you know that I popped into Ross yesterday on my lunch break, and they had some cute workout clothes. Not a lot of pants, but lots of cute tanks; many of them had those stupid shelf bras in them, of course, which you have to work around. I also noticed that Target has some workout capris and tanks on sale this week.

Have great days, everyone!:)

RE:

Good Morning everyone!

Robin—Happy Belated Anniversary! I am so excited for you and your vacation. I hope it is tons of fun! Have fun at the movie tonight.

Deb—I am painting our kitchen. I finally finished the entire first coat, now am moving onto the second. Ugh! Our countertops come next week, so I must be vigilant! I loved the pic you posted yesterday. Keegan is so adorable!

Shelley—It sounds like you are enjoying your vacation! How is the yard coming along?

Shannon—I say go for CC#7! I did that one on Tuesday and it was hard! Fun, but really hard!

Tneah—I am so glad your teeth issues are fixed! Are you feeling any better today? Your DH sounds like a keeper!

Jennifer—Sorry about the lay-offs at work. Is your job in danger? That must be very stressful. Take care!

Leanne—Thanks for the workout wear tip! I will try to get there today or tomorrow. I hope your deliberation goes quickly. Do you like Circuit Zone?

Well, I am off to paint. I did Amy’s Extreme Kickbox this morning and will try to get in S&H tris & bi this afternoon. Have a great morning!

Kara

RE:

Hello everyone. Right now I'm wondering why we bought such an ancient house. Last night the bathtub had a malfunction--the little toggle to let the water out again broke, so I couldn't get the water out of the tub after the boys' bath. I had to call a plumber this morning--waiting for a call back. Typical. The plumbing in this house is a constant pain. I think I'll have him check out our cantankerous kitchen sink while he's here as well.

My burn is still hurting, but not as bad. It's not an all-consuming pain, at least, like it was the first night when I had trouble distracting myself from it. However, I might still skip my workout today because the friction against my clothes hurts, and I know there'd be a lot of rubbing during a workout. I was thinking I'd take a walk in town, but I have to wait until I hear when the plumber might come before I can go out.

We had a play date yesterday with Isaac's friend Oliver. His mom is the one who also loves to work out, so it was fun to talk fitness with someone in person. She recently finished an intense kettlebell training so she can get certified to teach. She's an occupational therapist so she is thinking she could use them with patients or something.

Robin, I hope you have a wonderful vacation!

Deb, Yay! You'll have Keegan soon! I so want a dog--gotta work on the hubby about that again. Yeah, this is one of those cases where the cure is worse than the illness! I also need to go get my blood tested at some point--the dermatologist wants me to get tested for strep. Fun.

Jennifer, hope you have a good day and I'm also curious about the phone call you mentioned.

Shelley, I doubt you are anywhere near whale-sized. I am sure I could still hurt you by sitting on you, ya tiny little thing.

Shannon, I bet you get some decent workouts just looking after and riding horses, right?

Leanne, good luck at jury duty. I called the dermatologist's office yesterday and told them about my burn and asked if I should still come in on Friday for the treatment. They said to call back on Friday morning and tell them how I feel then. At the moment I'm thinking, "Heck no, I don't want to go in tomorrow."

Kara, enjoy the painting. I hope we can do some indoor painting and stuff soon now that we've done some work on the outside.

Tneah, kisses to you, girlfriend. You will probably cross-post with me here.

RE:

Hey All:)

Deb, that itrain sounds like fun, although since I cannot run or even jog really (when I do, I pay for it) I like to do the hills. I did the itrain tush-45 minutes the other day and really had fun with it, might do that one again this morning. I agree, your bunnies are probably still there, they do have a garden of eden to live in, why would they move?:7

Robin, boy, you are a smart packer! I am a horrid one, I have problems with "clothing commitments" I think. Your trip sounds just wonderful, being outside and just letting it all sink in and renew you.:)

Shelley, Boy, alot of us are having the munchies this week. I swear, its driving me nutso. Like Leanne said, maybe you just need to rest this week, I know when I am overtired I reach for sweets and crappy food to try and get my energy levels high again. Its frustrating, but most assuredly, you my dear are not even close to whale-like proportions.;)

Jennifer, I too would like to know whats up with the phone call?

Leanne, those jury folks need to make up their minds today and get this over with for crying out loud. Don't they want to finish it up so they can enjoy the summer? You poor thing.

Kara, painting your kitchen? What color? It actually sounds like fun.I used to work for a painting company, we painted apartment buildings, insides of houses, etc,,,I did the masking and the guys made me carry the large buckets of paint. It was the most tiring job I have ever done.

Shannon, I think Shelley sent me that CC, might have to try that one this morning instead of itrain, so I might be suffering along with you.

Hi to Lainie!:)

I am going to call a "real" doctor about my thyroid stuff today. I felt great taking the lower dose, so that is what I took this morning, but really need a good doctor to take a look at what is going on here. I feel tired again this morning, but need to do some cardio and have legs this afternoon or tonight.
DH may be coming home tonight, I hope so, Georgie goes into protective mode when he is away and keeps me up at night barking at everything.:)

I just remembered that today is actually a rest day for me. Wow, I have been working out since last Thursday...I just feel guilty taking a rest day when I have been eating so badly ya know?

RE:

Hi all! Just taking a yogurt break...:)

Tneah--You must have a lot of patience to be a "taper" for a living! I informed DH that he is putting up crown molding! }( The color is "kraft paper"--basically beige! We don't plan on living here forever, so sticking to neutrals is the plan unfortunately. It is a definite improvement however. The previous owners had the kitchen bright white with white countertops and white appliances! I am sorry that you are still so tired. A rest day sounds like a good idea, although I understand how hard it can be to take one. But, take it! :) I hope DH makes it home tonight!

Lainie--I don't blame you for not wanting to go back in for another treatment! Is there anything else that can be done? Have you found any creams, etc. that soothe it? I hope it goes away quickly! :)

Alrighty, must paint.

Kara :)

RE:

Ohhhh this sunburn is killing me again today--so itchy. I'm about to die. I can't even strip down and apply cold compresses or anything because there's a plumber in my house, so I keep leaving the room to scratch myself and then forcing myself not to scratch.

AAARRRRGGGHHH. SO not fair. I hate my dermatologist about now.

RE:

Kara, actually your walls sound nice, keeping them neutral allows you to play with color in other things right?:)

Lainie, is this sunburn all over your body? You poor thing, have you called your derm back and asked what you can do about it? This is a horrible situation, I really feel for you chica. ((hugs))

Well I did the itread workout, forgot which one though, Grace sounded more nasal than she usually does for some reason, or maybe I am just being sensitive.
I called the new hormone doc, they cannot get me in until July 3. So I called the other doctor back and told them my symptoms, the nurse said the dose they gave me was too high, and they will adjust it. Fine. Until I get the chance to see doctor #2, I have no choice really, if I stop completely, then how tired will I be? I dunno. Frustrating. I need to write today and then a trip to Whole Foods...:p Oh, the nurse also said my increased appetite meant the dose was too high! Great. Just great.x(

At least I know whats up now, how is everyone doin' today?

RE:

Tneah, I'm glad you got some answers about your meds. I hope it helps.

Kara, want to come do my kitchen next? We are going to buy a new frig after vacation. It will probably be white, since I have no idea what colors I want to redo the kitchen in, whenever we get around to it. We need new everything - floors, counters, cupboards. I keep thinking I should send pictures of my galley kitchen with locks on cupboards and the frig to Oprah and ask her for a new kitchen.

Lainie, poor itchy baby! Can you take a bath with Aveeno? I remember that was the only thing that helped my kids when they had chickenpox.

Well, I've had too much of the chocolate cake I made for a coworkers birthday. I don't know if I'll time for a workout tonight. Sigh.

RE:

Hooray -- I'm officially on summer break! :) The trial finished up before lunch, and then about eight of us went to Panera afterwards to have lunch. It was such a sad trial; a man had stolen some pants at a Kohl's and returned them for money, but they witnessed the whole thing on camera. He had done the same thing several times before, but this time they were able to witness the shoplifting. When he was first caught, he admitted to the crime, but now changed his story. I guess he already has three felonies (two for theft and one for assault on his wife) and has been using an alias. We found him guilty on the two charges, but it's just so sad to see someone whose life is so messed up. I've had several students who have been in prison, and I hope that he can turn things around in the future.

Tneah -- You should *not* feel guilty at all about taking a rest day today or about taking a little break with your eating this past week. Honestly, you've been working so hard for so long that this won't be a major set-back. :) I'm so glad to hear, too, that you called a Dr. today and that your current one is adjusting your meds. I'm sure you haven't been totally pigging out -- it probably just feels that way. You're SEXAY and sleek, and don't you dare think otherwise! ;-) And will you call and try to find a *nice* OB/Gyn?

Lainie -- How frustrating about the bathtub! How cool that your friend is KB-certified. You can probably get all sorts of pointers from her. Definitely stay home tomorrow if your burn is still hurting. Are you going to be pre-ordering both of Amy B's new workouts?

Kara -- I'll be trying my new kettlebell out on Saturday for the first time! Hooray! Of course, I may play around with it a little bit this evening or tomorrow. I really like Circuit Zone, but I'm not sure how often I'll do it since I think Cathe's full-body workouts are more intense. Wow -- I think that all your painting should count as your workout today! It really does take its toll. How exciting that you're re-doing your kitchen.

Robin -- Don't sweat the chocolate cake! You're going to be hiking up a storm for the next week, so I'm sure those calories were necessary so you'd have plenty of energy to do all that hiking!;-) Any news about a babysitter for Greyor?

RE:

Leanne, I remember feeling the same way when I was on a jury for a drug offense a couple years ago. There was a young girl who had messed up with drugs and was trying to get things straight enough to get her kids back. A couple years later she ended up murdered, cut up into pieces and dumped in garbage bags along the interstate. So very sad. No babysitter news.:( One of Greyor's therapists is trying to think of someone.

I ended up doing 4DS HIS etc today. Tomorrow will be 4DS LIS etc.

RE:

Oh, Robin, that is just so heart-breaking! It must have been so awful to have learned of what eventually happened to her. What a sad situation! On a more positive note, I hope that Greyor's therapist can recommend someone! Do you leave tomorrow or Sunday on your trip? We're going to miss you!:)

RE:

Yeah for Leanne being all done! Sad about the man though. It is so sad, geez. But thanks for your sweet words chica, its been an interesting road this week down depression lane...the nurse said my blood results showed that the first meds I was on actually lowered my thyroid levels even more, which is why they gave me the higher dose-which was not right for my body obviously. Have not heard back about how the good doctor is going to fix this total mess. I am just so happy that you get your summer back! Plus, you did your civic duty, my what a good citizen you are my dear.:7 Let me know about that kettleball deal, its interesting.

Robin, OMG, what a horrid story regarding your own jury duty. I think alot of times, the reason I tend towards frivolity in my reading and with with silly things like Sex and the City *screams* , is the diversion from the horrors, in my mind (my DH calls me his bleeding heart liberal) I want everyone to love each other, get along and laugh. Wish I lived close, I would certainly love to babysit, I love kids so much. Oh dear, I am making myself teary eyed now. I know you will find the right person to take care of little Greyor. Very cool name by the way.

Well, I am a good little exerciser today, I did the Butts and Guts premix-standing legs only plus abs, tacked on the stability ball floorwork for good measure-gotta keep the arse up, or at least try right?
;)

I gained those three pounds right back after the week of lifting, see? Lifting makes you gain water weight or something, well, that and my scarfing like a hoglet. OK...time for comfy jammies, and need to catch Top Chef, since I missed who got eliminated last night. Love you guys...
