Strength Back by Sarah

About 10 years agao I had a spinal fusion and had a great Dr. and was feeling great. Continued working out and feeling good. I was limited on some exercises but managed. Then in 2004 I found Cathe. I watched at first and thought “I can’t do that”. I was a “Firm” girl. Then I thought it over and gave cathe a try. I was blown away! I thought I was getting a good workout before, but I was wrong. Cathe gave me a new life and body.

Then about 6 months agao I started to feel the same pain in my back that I did 10 years ago. Went to the Dr. and he said that I had Spinal Stenosis. He thinks it came from standing on concrete for 8-10 hours a day at work. I tried every shoe possible but no luck. I continued with Cathe which helped greatly. Then I remembered I had Stretch Max. Got it out and added that to my workouts. What a difference! It has helped so much with the pain, that it has gone way down.I still have good and bad days, but Cathe has helped me so m uch in managing it. STS Meso 2 has also helped in strengthing the muscles around the spine to help aid in my spine support along with Ab Circuits.

Thank You Cathe for giving me my life back and in balance!! I still am limited in some xercises but I modify but still get a great workout. And talk about increased flexibilty! I did not realize I could have that much with my back rods. Life is so much more enjoyable when your fit and Cathe can get you there with a little hard work and determination, I will never let the pain get me down. Enjoy photo of me and my family.

  • That’s excellent. I had the same experience when switching to The Firm to Cathe back in 1998. The Firm is good for a beginner, I think, but you quickly “outgrow” their workouts.

I credit my workouts with Cathe for helping me recover from several injuries over the years, and Stretch Max is fantastic to help alleviate pain. Not to mention, it’s nice for relaxing and easier to do than yoga. I just love rolling that ball on my spine.

  • Thank you so much for sharing your story. I’ve had three back surgeries (no fusions) and have both degenerative disc disease and spinal stenosis. My sister turned me on to Cathe and probably has EVERY DVD she’s made (I’m not kidding). I’m visiting her in Ohio for Thanksgiving and we both ordered the new DVDs and are so excited to try them for the first time together.

I am slowly letting go of the fear of hurting my back and feel more faith and trust in Cathe’s instructions and my ability to modify, as needed.

I have Stretch Max and am definitely pulling that out this week and adding that to my “activity cart” this week. 🙂 Wishing continued success and vitality. ~Christy

  • I am so glad you 2 are feeling better. I know after my surgery, I was scared to do anything but walking and step. No jumping. Then I had a “moment” and thought, I am letting this rule me, No more. So I started slowly walk, run a little, so forth and so on. I know that I can do it is I choose but very carefully and only in small amounts. I have learned how to modify just about anything. Best to you both!!!

  • I was a FIRM girl too but have found Cathe has met my needs for the “something more” I was seeking. Your review of Stretch Max has encouraged me to get it. I’m in good physical health right now but have experienced issues in the past with my neck/back area because of tightness which has laid to pain, etc. Sounds like something I need to get!
    Thanks! Deb

  • I also left The Firm after 20yrs for Cathe. The first time I did “Butts & Guts”, I barely made it through. Now it’s my fave. Looking forward to ordering more Cathe DVD’s. Giving my Firm videos away!
