Proud of me after 40 by Roxanne

I started to work out at the age of 18 when I got married. During my 20 year marriage I had 3 children but I was not happy at all. It was a very abusive marriage and if it wasn’t for my kids I don’t think I would be here today.

After my overdue divorce I became very depressed and didn’t know how to live on my own. When my kids grew up and left to be on their own all I did was work and sit home just being scared and sad all the time. I decide to work out again and that is when I found Cathe’s workouts. I love working out with her videos because she is down to earth and keeps me going. She is a women closer to my age so when I look at her I think, If she can do it I can too.

I never worked with heavy weights before but now I feel stronger then ever and I love to show off my muscles at 46 almost 47. My mind even feels stronger now that my body is stronger. I recently had knee surgery so I am slowly recovering from that but I will be back full strength with Cathe soon. I have never felt better then where I am at in my life now. I am so proud of me and I love the fact that my kids have followed in my footsteps. All 3 of them are very active. My daughter and I workout to Cathe’s videos and my 8 year old grandson will even pick up a light weight and join in on the fun.

When you think you can’t make it grab a kickboxing video, then kick and punch out your frustrations with Cathe. I always tell others that my workouts are like your cup of coffee because it really gets me going. Look out 50 because here I come with my workout shoes, gloves and my Cathe videos. Hopefully one day I will be able to join the group during one of your fun filled Road Trips if you get closer to Wisconsin.

  • Roxanne, you go girl! I too am 46, almost 47, and Cathe pushes me to be better. I do what u do ( in fact did a kickboxing workout this am) with taking it light when I’m beat or my knee is screaming at me. My goal is to go to a road trip before I’m 50. Maybe I’ll see you there:) Mare

  • Great job Roxanne, you look wonderful! You have a lot to be proud of. Keep up the great work.

  • You go girl!!! So proud of you for getting your life healthy in ALL ways! I’m 45 and I totally hear ya about feeling great! I’ve been working through physical therapy for hip arthritis so I understand the slow recovery… but we’re gonna be stronger for it!!
