Always an Athlete, now a Cathlete – Andrea

After

I began playing soccer when I was 5 years old. I played all through high school, into college and even on a pickup league post college graduation. I played on the school, city and church teams. In the off season I played basketball and ran track. I was always an athlete; exercise made me feel good, gave me energy and released my stress. What I liked most about it was the feeling of support, togetherness and comradery I felt as being part of a team. It was the feeling of “All for one and one for all” or “We’re all in this together” that made me push harder and strive higher.

As life moved on, I got married and had my 1st child. I belonged to a gym and looked forward to the aerobic classes, where I would see the same faces each night. I loved taking the classes. Seeing the same faces night after night and sharing similar goals again created that team environment feel that I like so much.

About 2 years ago, I had my second child and 4 months after separated from my husband. Everything in my life changed. Being a single mom of 2 young boys and working full time left no time for the gym. I started working out at home, fitting in workouts when I could. I would do various exercise videos, but didn’t feel motivated, encouraged or excited about exercise at all. I had lost my passion and was just going through the motions. I felt more alone then ever and started gaining weight.

This past February two of my friends mentioned the 2009 Cathe Roadtrip to me. They new I liked to workout and thought it would be good for me to get away and do something for myself. My family encouraged me to go and thought it would be good for me. I signed up and started doing Cathe’s workouts on Fittv. I was immediately hooked. I liked that her workouts were advanced and challenging. I was introduced to the Cathe Nation website and facebook page and felt such a feeling of community when on the forums. I started to feel the feeling of a team environment again; support, encouragement, common goals and struggles. I began to feel excited about exercise again and couldn’t wait for the roadtrip and to try new videos that people recommended.

I went to the 2009 Roadtrip and had a blast!!!! I met so many unbelievable people, who I share so much in common with. Cathe was so down to earth and inspiring.

Since starting Cathe workouts in February I have lost the 10 pounds that I gained and have gotten back to my old self. I have my passion for exercise back and more importantly I feel supported and part of a team, with Cathe as my Captain. I am looking forward to Roadtrip 2010 and STS Shock Cardio.

Growing up I was always an Athlete and now I am a Cathlete!!!!!!

Thank so much Cathe for all you do.
