weight watcher activity point question

Cathlete
For anybody on the new weight watcher 123 program, I'm not sure whether to count cathe step tapes as med. intensity or high intensity. For example my four current faves are: step heat, step jam, mega step blast, wedding tape. My heart rate is generally in the high 130s to low 150s throughout. I don't want to overcount points, but some days I get really hungry and don't want to cheat myself either. Advice would be welcomed!

Hi -- I usually count Cathe tapes as moderate intensity for WW activity point purposes, except for Interval Max OR if my heart rate stays in the 150-160s for the majority of the workout. You could start by counting them as high intensity, and if eating the extra points you earn doesn't affect your losses, stick with that. No point in cheating yourself out of extra food if you don't need to. :)

I would set a mental limit though. For instance, I think if you do a full hour of high intensity, you earn something like 12 points. That's a LOT of extra points to actually eat. I would suggest limiting yourself to 4 or 5 points a day that you would actually use for extra food. Hope that makes sense...I'm sure this will sound like Latin to anyone not on WW. ;-)

Thanks Pamela,

I was hoping you would answer since you know so much about the program. You are right, for those not on WW must sound like we are talking a bizarre language! I think that I will count them as med. intesity and see how that works. If I work out really hard 150-160 range, you have a good point count as high, but try not to eat more than 5. I think Cathe and WW are a great combo don't you!
