My 4.5 pound Success – by Megan K.

I know what you’re thinking…what’s the big deal about 4 ½ pounds? Well, this success story isn’t so much mine as it is my son’s.I have been an avid exerciser for the past 9 years. In 2003 I found Cathe tucked inside a box that my newly purchased step came in. It was love at first “cha cha pivot”. Since then I have been working
out with her almost daily.

Before

In September 2007 my husband and I found out we would be expecting our first child the following
June. I made a commitment to myself and to my unborn child to have a healthy pregnancy. I ate well
and was able to work out 5-6 days a week doing step aerobics, lifting weights and modifying Cathe’s
core work. I had a completely healthy, uneventful pregnancy until April.

Without any warning signs of on-coming labor I awoke one morning to my water breaking. I was 33
weeks pregnant. At the hospital I was told that it would be likely the baby would need support
breathing, because typically at 33 weeks gestation lungs are not fully developed. After 3 hours of labor
and 15 minutes of pushing we welcomed our son Nolan into the world. He weighed 4lb 9oz. He was
rushed to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit to be stabilized and evaluated by the Neonatologists.
We finally got to meet him 3 hours later. To our surprise and delight he did not need any breathing assistance!
The doctors were very pleased with his vigor and overall health for a preemie. There is not
a doubt in my mind that my son would have had as strong of a start as he did had it not been for Cathe’s
sweet but tough style and her motivating words that I looked forward to daily throughout my
pregnancy.

After

Today Nolan is a happy, healthy 14 month old who enjoys watching his Mama workout with Cathe. With Cathe’s help I quickly returned to my pre-pregnancy size and added some additional muscle to boot!
From the smallest beneficiary of Cathe’s programs, THANK YOU!

  • Hello. Thanks for sharing your story. Your point is well-taken: it’s not always about the weight loss, but about health and it’s great that you were able to return to your pre-pregancy weight!

Ditto the previous post: Your little baby is precious. I’m sure it won’t be too long where he’ll start wanting to join in (if not sooner) 🙂 You encouraged me.

  • Megan you have a handsome little guy and congratulations getting fit and healthy. I just recently began working out with Cathe and the step. Thank you for you story I hope I have a success story to tell as well.
