All throughout my childhood I was always a little chunky. (Picture of me in my Texas sweatshirt) My mom on the other hand always worked out and used Cathe videos to do so. I saw how she always looked good and stayed in shape. One day in ninth grade, I went home and took off my shirt and flexed in the mirror. When I didn’t see any muscle, I said we need to change this. So the first thing I did was tell my mom that I wanted to start working out. She said if I was really serious then I need to do Cathe’s workouts. At first I was like, this is a girly workout and won’t do anything for me, this will be too easy. After the first workout, I became a believer in Cathe. I could barely make it through the workout and I was so sore the next couple of days. But I stuck with it and with good diet saw a great change in how I looked and felt. Some of my friends were like, “you workout to a girl” and kind of laughed, but when I made them get down a nd try it, they were crying about how hard it was and that they couldn’t do it. That was the end of them talking about Cathe. I got your back Cathe.
After about three years of doing Cathe’s older videos such as: Gym Style, Pure Strength, and Slow Heavy, I saw some really good changes and I was looking good. (Picture of me by the boat) Then my mom told me that Cathe had some new DVDs coming out called STS. It was about to get cranked up another notch. I was excited because I saw how intense the workouts appeared and also liked the fact that guys were doing the workouts with her as well. We bought the DVDs and I got started right away. I decided to do every video twice so I would have two weeks to really get the workout down. I thought I was going to die the first couple of weeks with all the push-ups and chin-ups, but after the first couple of weeks I could already tell a strength increase as I was able to do the push-ups and chin-ups a little easier. STS also introduced me to a lot of new exercises I didn’t know of, and I felt them in places I have never felt before. I and others have noticed a big increase in my stre ngth, muscle growth, and a more filled out look. I love STS because it’s like having your own personal trainer. It is also something new every week; you don’t get bored with it. The program is really great and I have been able to complete it once, and am now doing it again.
Working out is not always easy for me though. Physically I may be fine, but I think that working out is a lot mental too. Some days I might be so pumped up about working out, while other days it feels like a drag. But it’s those time when you push yourself and work out when you don’t feel like it, that’s where you reach the next level. And I feel better after I do. I play a lot of sports, and I can tell how my performance has changed. You don’t tire out as quickly in endurance sports like basketball. Doing all those lunges and squats do serve a purpose, because it fells really good when you can jump higher than everyone else to catch that pass in football. Working out also makes me want to eat good and clean foods. I try and eat good every week and allow for a little treat on the weekends. I also don’t believe in supplements, creatine, or steroids. I am all natural and will stay that way.
I want to thank my mom for showing me Cathe. And I want to give all the thanks in the world to Cathe because she has made the difference in my life to help me reach some of my goals. I have got to give her all the props in the world. Cathe is the “MAN” or in her case the “WOMAN”.
WHOA!! What a guy!!!
Congratulations on all your hard work (and for listening to your mum!). Bet your friends wish they had your courage to be different… and your body!
What a wonderful endorsement for Cathe, too.
I’m going to show my son this article. Thank you!
Way to go, Blake!!!!!! I’ve been telling my son the same thing for years, but unfortunately, he doesnt listen to his mom! I also am going to share your article with him!
What an great story! Not only a guy who is not afraid to admit to workout to Cathe but actually admit how tough and awesome she is.
Way to Go!!
You look great.
Hi Blake,
You look fantastic, keep up the great work! Your friends may have laughed at you when you were using Cathe’s workouts, but know you can laugh and say, “Look at Me, I am fit”! I am sure that they ran out and purchased her DVD’s! I am proud of you, and glad that you are all natural, that’s the way it should be! I am trying to get my 10 year old son to workout with me, but he is not interested in working out for more than 10 minutes at a time. He gets tired, looses interest, and moves on to something else. I am going to continue to gently push him to workout and stay healthy and fit, like his mom!! Keep on trucking Blake!

Blake. This is too timely. My son just finished his senior varsity year of basketball. I often told him that I didn’t think his team could do Cathe with me if they tried. He never tried it either, but you are proof that she is everyone’s workout buddy! She is tough and I am glad you are not too proud to not work out with her. She has done a great job on your body, and your mind. Keep it up.
Fun to hear, Blake! Keep it up!
That’s MY boy!!!!! I’m so proud. Mom!!!
Look at you! It’s so awesome that you decided to give Cathe a try. You also proved that women can do a lot more than sissy workouts. My best friend (guy) decided to give Cathe a try..well by accident anyway. He was a little hesitant because Cathe is a woman, and one day he saw a boot camp show in one of the Fit TV listings, but had no idea she was going to be in it. When he realized it was her, he decided to give it a try anyway. Well….let’s just say he couldn’t make it through the whole workout, in fact it took many workouts for him to be able to even do weighted squats. he he he, now he’s a Cathe believer, and has actually done more videos than me.
Let me tell you, he looks ten times better than the “after” picture. No fat; just muscle. I can’t get over how strong and well built he is. He picks up furniture like it is nothing. I know because he has done it for me….. He is quite a package, and I’m not predjudice at all…I’m his proud, plump. ,grandmother…
