A Cathe Pregnancy

Before

When I got pregnant I had been following Cathe’s DVDs for five years. I was very excited to be pregnant and progressing with mine and my husband’s marriage.

Although I was very excited to be having a baby, I started to worry about my fitness and what was going to happen to my body during and after the pregnancy. When people find out that you are pregnant they start to tell you all the horror stories about what “will” happen to your body.

Fitness has always been an important part in my lifestyle and if I lost what I had gained over the years I was worried it would be extremely hard to get back. I then made a goal in the beginning of my pregnancy that I was going to workout during all three trimesters. I did weight training, incline treadmill, and step with Cathe throughout the whole pregnancy. I worked out every week 3-5 times and even worked out up to the week that my beautiful baby girl was born.

During my pregnancy I would always get compliments on how well I carried my baby and how good I looked being 9 months pregnant. After having the baby I still get compliments how quickly I have lost the “baby weight.” I started back up with Cathe workouts just two weeks after delivery and feel great! For all those that say you cannot look good while being pregnant, it’s not true all you need is some determination, energy, and Cathe!

I give credit to my fitness before, during, and after pregnancy to Cathe. Cathe inspires me to be in the best shape that I can be. I tell everyone I know about her and how she will give you the best workouts and results you could ever ask for. I never get bored with exercising because of Cathe and will continue using Cathe’s workouts for life!

  • What a great story! I am trying to get pregnant and I have been worried what will happen with my body. I workout 5-6 times a week with Cathe and I am worried that I will turn into a large muffin with no desire to work out. I am soo excited to see that someone could keep the desire on track! I will keep this story to keep me inspired when I get pregnant.

  • This is a great story! Congrats to you! I’ve had 4 kids in 5 years (with no twins) and still love my body. I have to say I didn’t make it to working out the entire pregnancy but I did work out before and after the babies. I usually had all my “baby weight” off two weeks after the kids were born and started working out immediately to tone things back up. I love being a mom but didn’t want the “MOM FIGURE” and thanks to Cathe I don’t. I love all the Cathe dvds and can’t wait for the new ones to come out. Thanks Cathe!!!

  • Thank you so much for sharing your story! I am almost four months pregnant and I have struggled with the same concerns so this is an inspiration and a relief to know that with dedication I can maintain my fitness throughout my pregnancy.

  • Thanks for sharing! I’ve used Cathe for years and continued to do her weight workouts throughout my pregnancy. I even ran until 34 weeks, then did long fast walks. I have to credit Cathe and my son with all the muscle I have 5 years later!

  • Congrats to all you Natalie, and all for the lucky women out there who’s reply I’ve read. I have admire all the hard work all of you put in before, during, and after pregnancy. I know a lot of your success with your after baby figure was due to hard work. Some of it was also genetics. I know because I had the oposite luck, genetically speaking. I have bad skin that doesn’t have much elastic. So I had a bunch of loose skin that wouldn’t go away after I had a baby. I have tons of stretch marks too. Also, after breast feeding, my boobs deflated and were small and saggy. None of that was anything I could do about except for not to have kids. I do have tons of muscle and tons of cardio endurance and ability. Cathe is credited with the most fun part of my workout. You can be the most fit person in the world but genetics does have some say in how your body will look after your pregnance. Kids, of course, are worth it 10 times over (although my daughter is 16 now and I sometimes wonder LOL).

  • Great story! I gained far too much weight in my pregnancy and am hoping to gain the recommended 25-35 lbs next time around (of course, I lost all that weight and then some doing lots of Cathe workouts postpartum). I was nervous doing step during pregnancy–even though I felt comfortable doing it. It just seems doctors want pregnant women to lie around and do nothing for 9 months except for light walking and mild yoga! What a great inspiration to know I can do much of the same exercises I do now while I’m pregnant.

  • Oh, I just typed a whole message here and it got deleted! Just want to say thank you to you for your inspirational story! You look beautiful as does your baby girl. I am 30 weeks and hoping to keep up my 6-day a week workout regimine that includes kickboxing, step and weights. I love it and it has kept me sane during my pregnancy. It is hard to find other women who are exercising through pregnancy successfully. I want my child to see me exercising and see me as a role model for fitness and health. Good luck to all the beautiful mommies-to-be out there!

  • Great story! I also worked out through my pregnancy…22 + years ago. At that time I took a lot of group exercise classes. I took a class on the morning I went into the hospital and was upset I couldn’t go back that afternoon to take my aquatic class. I do think when you work out through your pregnancy, you carry yourself and your baby better. I had to have a C-Section, but was at home doing exercise videos before my staples were out. I think from keeping active through my pregnancy, I not only felt great, but recovered quickly.
