The past 2 years have been perhaps the toughest years of my life.
After having a beautiful little girl in 2005, we decided to try again in 2007. Unfortunately, shortly after becoming pregnant I lost the baby in December of 2007. Doctors told me that it was just “bad luck”. Then after a few months we started trying again and had another miscarriage in October of 2008. Doctors decided to send me to a specialist who diagnosed me with 2 blood clotting disorders that were causing me to lose the babies.
They started me on daily shots of a blood thinner and told me it was very important that I continue exercising to keep my blood from clotting when it shouldn’t and thus keep me from miscarrying again.
During this time, my dad was diagnosed with Mesothelioma, a type of lung cancer. Throughout the pregnancy I was driving him 3 hours away for chemotherapy, doctors appointments, etc. and I was having ultrasounds every month 1 1/2 hours away to make sure my baby was healthy. Through all of this I kept exercising not only because I had to a baby growing inside me who needed me to but because I had to have something normal and constant in my life.
Then in Ocotober 2009 my dad decided he just wanted to live long enough to see his new grandbaby. But he just couldn’t fight the cancer anymore. I was on my way home from the hospital one night and I started having contractions. An hour later we got the call that dad had passed away. My beautiful little girl was born 36 hours later.
Those past few months were a whirlwind and now it’s 3 months later and things are finally getting back on schedule. But when I look back on what got me through it all, it was Cathe and her workouts. I needed some stability in my life and it was Cathe. My husband calls my workouts my sanity preservation.
Now I have found a lump on my breast with and am waiting for test results. I don’t know if the road ahead will be easy or not but one thing I do know is that as long as I have Cathe workouts to help keep me sane, I’ll be alright. Thanks Cathe.
What a bittersweet experience. I’ll pray for you and your family. As to your current obstacle…there is info. on iodineforhealth.com esp. with a Dr. Flechas that you may find extremely beneficial. I too saw my father suffer through cancer and the chemo and if I had some of the info on iodine I may have been able to help him Blessings…D
