Thoughts on BODY BEAST?

Who has done Body Beast? Did you do the full rotation? Did you add cardio? I'm considering purchasing this as a continuation of strength training after STS, but I'm also looking to lean out a bit more.

I searched there and really couldnt find much. I used "body beast" and just "beast" to search and came up with surprisingly little in the way of reviews.

My thought was doing Body Beast to build metabolically active lean muscle to help with fat loss which from what I've read is the thing to do. This a confusing concept for me!

Hello,

I have the Body Beast pack. Although I have not attempted it yet, I can guarantee you it will not meet the "leaning out" purpose you are trying to achieve. BB is for those who want to build and increase the size of muscles. In technical term it's a hypertrophy program.

HTH:)

Just to add I have not used the word "guarantee" lightly, I have taken on board the description of your body type as per one of your previous post. It depend on : if you already got enough muscles, not willing to increase or you have not. All the best:cool:

I did 2 rounds of Body Beast. I just finished up last Sunday. I loved every minute of it. I am an Ectomorph & it is very hard for me to build muscle. In the 6 months that I did those 2 rounds...I gained 5 1/2 Lbs, tons of strength & I am lifting pretty heavy for me. I definitely see more muscle...but it takes time to build muscle. I want it now as I am very impatient...but will keep working.
The last 2 weeks of my last round I added in Meso 2 to try it out & I really liked it. I am used to working out mostly one body part a day or at the most 2 so I did not do Shoulders, chest & triceps of Meso 2.
Body Beast has rests...but it is more metabolic than STS & there is only 1 day of cardio. The leg workout is like getting in a cardio workout & is the hardest I have ever done I give it an APlus!!! I have not added in extra cardio because I want to build muscle.
Hope that helps. :)

I have BB and have done one round. I really enjoyed it. Like Eileen, it's hard for me to build muscle but I saw really good results with Beast. There are two phases, one for if you want to build and bulk and another for building and leaning. The latter adds in cardio so if you decide to go with it, you may want to choose that one. You can always add in more cardio as you see fit. Overall, I really like this program and would recommend it.

Glad Eileen, you have shared your thoughts on body beast. One cardio per week make a lot of sense for an ectomorph.

I can't compare the two but I think Sagi (who teaches BB) is totally annoying. I couldn't get through a rotation because of his bravado and constant irritating remarks. Of course, that's just my perspective and a lot of other people love him.

How do the two compare? Are the trainers good?

If your referring to les mills pump the program is great for a high rep/metabolic burn workout. THe music is fun and the instructors are personable.

The body beast is a heavy "alpha male" type workout. The workouts are good and get result but the instructor is a bit old school gym guy comment/ego IMO

If you can get over Sagi stuff you will get a good bulking workout with Body Beast.

But if you just want to have fun and lean out I totally recommend Beach Body Pump. Oh and the pump set only has 2 total body workouts and several shorter beginner stuff. I've only used the 2 full body workouts since I was already doing advance stuff.

Lean Out vs. bulking

I heard body beast is good for lean muscle definition? I think I can put up with alpha male if those are the results I'm looking at. So lean but defined muscle tone - les mills vs. body beast?

Bulk = increase in size of muscles, defined muscle tone, sleek muscles Go for Body beast.
Les mills is a high rep/with light weight endurance program ---toned but not defined physique is what you get.

I suggest you stay away from "myth" discouraging lifting heavy.

Here is a link discussing lifting heavy here on the forum.

Good luck
