Still adding muscle during Meso 3???

Hi ladies! I can't believe it but I am actually on my last week of Meso 2 of STS. I have LOVED this mesocycle and can really see some nice little muscles popping out. :) This leads me to a question. In Meso 3, since it is designed to increase strength, is my understanding correct that I shouldn't expect any more hypertrophy during Meso 3? In other words, will I or will I not be adding more muscle to my body? If additional muscle growth doesn't typically occur during Meso 3 then I may want to do another 2 month round of Meso 2. Would that be a good idea? I have managed to gain 5 pounds since I started (most if not all muscle) and I'd like to gain a couple more pounds of muscle if possible before I am done with the 6 1/2 month rotation. What do you guys think??? As always, thanks for taking the time to help a newbie lifter out!

Firstly, well done! Great results.
Meso #3 should allow you to continue your gains, maybe just not quite as quickly. I think the 12-rep-count-for-hypertrophy model is just an optimum count, ditto 6-8 reps for strength. There's a big overlap in what you can achieve with all the different counts. Tat said, I've just done 6 weeks of meso #2, simply because I love the variety in it. I repeated the last 2 weeks.

Perhaps take your recovery week, and then try meso #3. If you aren't getting the results you're after, you can always THEN do another round of meso #2.

I enjoyed meso 3 the most of all the cycles. It was fun to look at poundage changes during the program and when I grabbed a weight that was fairly challenging during meso 1 it felt like "nuttin". Meso 1 was really tough on me at almost 65 years old, the endurance factor was brutal!! As a guy, I may come at it from a different mentality, but when you're done with meso 3 you will be amazed at your strength!!! Loves me some shorter sets!!

I loved meso 3 as well. For me all those heavy weights were a stress buster. I was amazed at how heavy I could go on quite a few of the exercises. You will still make muscle gains. Like Justine stated, you can always go back to meso 2 at any time. I would suggest you give meso 3 a go. JMO

Justine, That's a fantastic idea! I will do Meso 3 and then perhaps repeat Meso 2 and then 3 again right after that. Can you tell I just don't want it to end? Lol! STS has changed so much for me and I am so thankful that you ladies recommended it!

Awesome! I am going to share your post with my boyfriend. I am trying to get him to do the program and he keeps doubting his ability. Way to go! 65 and join strong - literally! :)

:DNot wanting it to end happen to most of us;)

You have had good suggestions. Meso3 was designed to gain strength.:)
I am not sure if you have squat rack at home+ the STS squat rack add on. This is another opportunity to push yourself for more
result. A second round of meso 2 can also help. The other option is to do xtrain (if you have it). X-train Burnset round only, can
sub meso 2.:):)

All the best christin.
Please keep us posted;)
