Have you earned a belt? Was the training worthwhile?
Thinking of earning yellow online after I get my MBA in May.
All feedback is appreciated.
TIA.

Hi there,

This is 15 years of HR experience and a Master's in HR Managment. Go for it!! Not only will it give some heft to your resume but it will also give your self-esteem a major dose of power!! In this economy in particular, the more of a leg up you have on the competition, the better!!

You go girl!! Happy studying!! Go get 'er done!!

Pam

Thanks, Pam.
At work, I received a condensed verision of Dale Carnegie for Sales but not the certificate. This is something I will plan to do after graduation.

I work in Continuing Education for a university and I have companies signing employees up for our online version of Six Sigma. So if companies are will to train their employees in it, then they will certainly give job candidates with this training special consideration. You can never have too much training. Good luck with it.

Hi Deb.
How many hours of online training is it? I don't think it's feasible with my MBA at the moment but it is worth considering.

Thanks.

Jen

Green Belt is 100 hours
Black Belt is 200 hours
They are designed to be completed in 3 to 6 months but students can take up to a year. I think I would complete the MBA and then do the Six Sigma program unless you have the summer off. I had one very dedicated student who finished a 60 hour program in 2 weeks but he's not the norm.

I would guess the yellow belt is only 50 hours then. My graduation for my MBA is late May so I could start after the Holiday. The only thing is that I could add it to my resume after I start the online program. Getting back in shape and doing this on the side will be doable.
Do you have any more vital info I might need? You've been a tremendous help already.
Thanks.

I don't have the Yellow Belt in my current line up of courses so I'm not sure about the number of hours for that one. These programs are administered by many colleges and universities so do check around for pricing and such. Often, the courses are through the same providers so I would go through a good university in your area (even check where you got your MBA.) They tend to carry more weigth if they are associated with an easily recognizable institution. Let me know if you need any other information.

I am with the University of Phoenix and a classmate stated she got her's through her undergrad program. After 18 months of education, three more months won't hurt at this point.
Thanks.

I found the self-teaching guide that if I finish it with the quizes and exams, I can send my project to a website to be reviewed. My plan is to give this a shot, if it doesn't work, I will go online or in person.
