Review - Brand New Butt and more

Hi Everyone

I was asked to review this so here it is.

Its a 60 minute workout by Janis Saffrell carrying on from her New Butt and More video she did for Crunch Fitness. Lots of standing balancing work using dumbells and ankle weights. The second section is on the floor. This is a tough workout which will help tone upper and lower body. Janis gives good clear instruction and queueing throughout the workout, and you will get a good cardiovascular workout I would suggest doing it 2 -3 times a week.

It will go into my 10 favourite vids after Cathe.

Hi Babs!

Thank you for taking the time to review this for us! I am very interested in this vid. If I can ask a few more ?'s:

How does it compare to her "New Butt & More" vid...harder, easier??? I may be interested in both.

When you say cardiovascular, is there actually a cardio section or are you talking increased heartrate due to weights? I'm not sure if by "floorwork", you mean Hi/Lo?"

Is it as intense as Cathe weight work? (I think I KNOW the answer to this! ;-))

Sorry for all the questions. I appreciate your time with the review!

RE: Hi Babs!

I would say its probably tougher than New Butts & More with more exercises to really work the butt.

Cardio in the way it does get your heart rate up more significantly as you move around squating to the side which is quite challenging.

In comparision to Cathe hmmm that is hard she works you really hard and she reminds me of Cathe without weights. I would say it is intense but not the same intensity as Cathe.

Hi
This video is tough.I could not believe how difficult it was the first time I did it & I was using light weights.Janis is excellent in this video and I strongly recommend it.I think it's good to use / try different instructors.I wish Janis would do a weight training series like Cathe's PS & Sh.
cheers

I notice in the Collage catalog that the tape recommends using 3 to 8lb weights, that seems awfully light?? Can you can use heavier weights, or is this mainly an endurance tape. Trying to decide if I should get this one.

I would say yes I intend to go light until I have got the balancing moves with weights down and then go heavier for more a challenge. Its the balancing work whilst doing bicep curls and shoulder lifts combined which makes this such a tough workout.
