Protein Powder

I use a low carb choc flavored protein powder. I love it with water and ice. However, now that the mornings are cool, I would like to warm it up. I tried adding hot water, but that just seemed to "gummy" it up. It was so disgusting! I thought I should mix first then heat.
Does anyone have any ideas? Does the heat affect the protein? Thanks

I'm interested in this as well. I just tried (yesterday) to mix a little into my coffee. That didn't go well. :)
