What kind do you all prefer? I am looking to up my protein levels but am afraid of turning into a part chicken/part tuna if I don't start alternating...
My DH and I really like Optimum Nutrition Whey protein powder. All of the flavors are pretty good IMO. I usually buy it at www.bodyconcept.com. They have really great prices.
It's funny you ask. As I'm reading the posts I'm drinking Optimum Nutrition's Pro Complex vanilla with a little bit of milk and ovaltine. I prefer it in a smoothie but this is all I have right now. I can relate to the part chicken part tuna statement that's why I try to have a protein shake every once in awhile to substitute. I also use Essential Protein from Iron Tek in Vanilla Cake and that one is at a better price per serving than Pro Complex. I buy my products from www.nutritionexpress.com
Right now my husband uses EAS MyPro protein powder in Strawberry and really likes it. (I don't like strawberry so I haven't tried it myself!) However as I recall the price was was pretty good and I bought it at the Vitamin Shoppe. The other brand I buy is Jay Robb. He has his own web site where he sells it. It's not cheap, but there is free shipping. The nice thing about his products is that he has whey protein, egg white protein as well as soy protein, and it seems like a really clean product. It tasts really good and mixes better than any other I've tried. One thing I recommend when shopping for protein is to read the ingredients list. I avoid nutrasweet/splenda etc whenever possible. It seems all protein powders have some sweetner though, so you just have to find one that works for you. The Jay Robb powders I know use Stevia.
I love Jay Robb's protein powders. They are sweetened with Stevia. You can order this products online at jayrobb.com (if your local health food store doesn't carry his products).
I drink Designer Whey. The one I drink French vanilla does not have sucralose or aspartame in it as well as the Natural one but other DW flavors have these crap in it. I may try Jay Robb. Does Vitamine Shoppe have those or you order it strictly online? Thanks!
