Good morning,

Well Keegan did not qualify yesterday, but it was my fault. I didn't follow through with a move that I had planned, and this led him to be in the wrong place, and take a jump incorrectly. Otherwise he was perfect, you would not have thought I brought the same dog as the day before. It made me feel so much better than what he did the day before, which was pretty embarrassing. Oh, well, there's always June. :)

Hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful spring weather!

Back to the trial today, but as a worker, not bringing a dog.

Take care,

Good morning..I'm back. we have a lovely short vacation. It worked out beautifully. we were the only ones in the campground. we rode most of the island. it is hilly... way harder than a flat ride, but so pretty. the San Juans have a special ambiance. we saw a lot of birds... shore birds and ducks. walked from the camp area down to the sand spit and out to the end multiple times with telescope and binoculars and just sat in the sun and searched. I'll post a link to some chamber of commerce type pics that really capture how it looks. it's a short drive and 45 min ferry ride for us but it's expensive to take a camper on the ferry. plus this is best in the off season.

the less I fuss with my shoulder the better it is. I have an appt Monday with orthopedics but not sure if I should keep it.

Deb, so funny with the doggies... they are independently minded guys aren't they?
watched the Theory of Everything last night. a real bore.... the one about stephen hawking. yes, his performance was very good but the movie itself was really tedious. He captures the disability but that got old pretty quickly because the man is not very likeable or interesting.

Judy I can't imagine how your glutes could be atrophied??? or no endurance? very strange and odd thing to say. How could anyone spin for 90 + minutes with atrophied anything? and that takes endurance!. an u/s may be a good plan to make sure nothing funny is going on.

we came home to a mouse problem....in the garage. great. nothing for years, and now it's spring and they must be looking for a good place to nest and our garage got picked.

more pics than you 'd ever want to see...

Hi Deb, Josie, Valerie, Lori, and Judy--

This morning I did 68 min. of BarreAmped. Once again, I did not finish the final stretch.

Valerie, San Juan looks beautiful, and knowing how you dislike noisy campers, it must have been heaven to have the place for yourself.....and the birds. Stephen Hawking is in a documentary (by Errol Morris), so I have seen him live, and Eddie Redmayne definitely has him down pat. I just don't find impersonation (e.g., Meryl Streep as Margaret Thatcher) all that great, but I guess other actors do. I guess he is some kind of genius, but the film wasn't really about that, was it? More about the burden of his ALS on those who loved him.

Deb, I have faith in Keegan. Some day he will qualify.

Judy, that doctor sounds awful--his manners atrophied in caveman days. Knowing me, I would have said something nasty, because I hate that kind of masculine condescension. Would not go back either and find a place to write a review online.

Another beautiful day. I am almost done with raking, and I'm putting down some fertilizer and some new soil before it rains tomorrow. I want more blooms when things finally get going.

Good evening Ladies!

My son completely surpised me yesterday and showed up early right when I was about to work out. So I skipped the workout and we dove right into yard work and cleaning/organizing the patio. Wow! Such hard work. Actually glad I did not workout. Patios look great just need to plant the annuals. Yard work will need a few weekends before the lawn looks alive. This winter really did a number on it.

Today I ended up doing Cathe Live Metabolic Conditioning. It is 42 minutes and gets the job done. Love this workout. Took Chester for a walk yesterday and today when we went he wanted to swim and I let him. The water must have been freezing but he seemed to enjoy it.

Valerie...welcome back! Your trip sounds really beautiful. Thanks for the link I enjoyed looking at the pictures. Hope you get control of the mice.

Lynda...another beautiful day here! I am missing SB barre. Been well over a week since I have done one of her workouts.

Deb....so sorry about the trials. June will be here before you know it.

Have a great afternoon all!

Hi Everyone,

DH and I spent the weekend cleaning out garage and rearranging a couple of rooms. Nothing too exciting. Glad to have it done though. Hopefully next weekend we will do something fun.

Deb-sorry about the trials. Hope you had fun today!

Valerie-great photos! Looks like a beautiful place! Glad your shoulder is better.

Lynda-I know what you mean, I hate that kind of condescension too. I wish I would have said something. I'm going to see how PT goes and I may end up looking for another sports doctor.

Lori-It sounds like you and your son got a lot done this weekend! I bet your patio does look great. I'm sure winter was very rough on your yard.
The grass looks pretty rough here too.

Hi to Josie!

Judy

Hi Ladies,

I'm sick again :(. My DD came over last Monday with a cold and stayed so that I could take care of her and I ended getting what she had. I started with a sore throat on Friday, but still went spinning . I was hoping to sweat it out, but did not work. This is the third time that I get sick, my immune system must be low this year.

Valerie, the pictures are beautiful. Those little squatter mice saw you leaving and took over :)

Lori, glad that you have your yard back and that your son was there to help out.

Judy, that doctor is a quack! You should have shown him your buns of steel ;). God luck with the PT.

Deb, I guess your little rascal was not feeling it :). Better luck next time.

Garance, I wish that I could plant some flowers in my back yard. I had the gardener put in succulents in the flower beds because of the drought.

Have a restful rest of your day.

Josie

Good morning,

Whew! the weekend is over ..it was a lot of hard work, tearing down all that gating and equipment, loading the truck then unloading it and putting all the stuff back at the training hall...my knees and joints are sore this morning. We need to recruit more younger members to start doing this stuff!

Valerie, welcome back! Your trip sounds lovely.

Lynda, I hope to get into some of what you were doing this coming week, if the weather permits. It's raining today, although it is supposed to go up to 70. Then down to 33 by Wednesday. :( This is a really crappy spring.

Lori, nice that your DS is so willing to assist in the yard work. It makes is not only finish faster, but is more fun while you do it. Chester is definitely a lab!

Judy, with you rearranging rooms, and Lynda and Lori doing so much yard work, I am starting to feel guilty! I need to get to some more projects around here. LOL.

Josie, hope you feel better. I think you are correct, your immune system must be down. Maybe take a rest week, even after you feel better.

Gyno appointment this morning, and ....It raining....so no outside work today.

Take care,

Bummer on another cold Josie! Hope you get over it quickly.

we did a 20 mile ride yesterday, with a headwind.

yes, little squatter mice!!!... they're chewing through the rubber gasket on the bottom of both garage doors, one new gasket the other older. got 2 more mice last night. so weird for them to be so aggressive when it's spring-like and nice outside....

we are going on another short trip, this time to Winthrop WA to hike and mt bike. again short, 3 days. gotta go while the going is good!. back Friday . seeing orthopedics today and want another shot. I seem to improve when I stay away from PT.

"Theory of everything" sure didn't focus on the science ... they thoroughly simplified it, which is fine. most folks don't go to a movie for that. Hawking is not a very nice nor interesting guy IMO, nor were his wife and new girlfriend. I didn't find any of the relationships interesting .... apparently he divorced his first wife and married the girlfriend. I didn't find him "lovable". I know he has a terrible disease etc etc but I can't get past the physical afflictions to see how you could have a marriage relationship and 3 children! just can't see it. maybe I'm shallow but the very idea makes me ill.

yeah, what is it with labs? like they have no "cold and wet" sensors! guess that's why they make good hunting dogs. Deb, I'll bet your little guys would NOT jump into a frigid lake and swim around and like it.

Hi Deb, Josie, Valerie, Lori, and Judy--

This morning I did both low impact Hiit workouts together (50:08).

We had such lovely weather last week, but today it's blowing up a storm and lots of rain. I hope people running in the Boston marathon have better weather than western MA.

Lori, I think Max has spring fever, so maybe it's the same with Chester. We have one small pile of 'snirt' still on the lawn, and Max just plopped down on it after running around like crazy and panting hard yesterday. Nothing like a cool belly after a hot run. He's been digging holes as well. Not sure what he's looking for, but he seems happy to see the dirt again.

Valerie, we usually have trouble with mice in the winter when they are looking for a place to stay warm--under the hoods of our vehicles. They can cause a lot of damage. Have another lovely trip!

Josie, what bad luck! I hate spring colds. Have you ever tried something with zinc when you feel a cold coming on? It really works for me. My new favorite is Zicam Rapid Melts. They taste like an orange creamsicle, and you only need take 2 a day. And best of all, they dissolve so quickly.

Deb, it sounds like you had plenty of exercise yesterday with the trials wrapping up.

Judy, I think I would have said, "I guess you missed the classes on bedside manners."

Josie I want to second Lynda on the Zicam. I take that plus extra vit c and get extra rest when trying to ward off a cold. I think it helps at least 50% of the time. working out makes me sicker faster!

got my cortisone shot. If I still have troubles in another month I will get some imaging done. I really hope this is it. I probably won't do more PT except for home things.

we put new weather stripping on both doors. Hopefully that will take care of it. We've had the influx in fall before, into sheds garages, but it seems strange now with the weather pleasant and mild. I do remember last spring though when we got some mice in our truck. smart little critters. will check back in in a couple days.

Good evening ladies!

No workout with the ladies. Most had the day off due to it being a massachusetts holiday. Tonight I did the RWH legs premix that incorporates both bonus abs throughout. Someone mentioned it on the forums and it reminded me I liked this workout. Forces me to get a good core workout. Although, everytime I would try and do situps or crunches Nilla was jumping on my legs to,lay in between my knees. Was very cute. At one point I had my camera ready and snapped a picture. i'll post tomorrow when I am on my computer.

I feel really good after being on the 21d Fix for 8 days. I can tell I have lost weight. I have not weighed myself yet and will not until the end of the 21 days. I feel thinner! What I love is being not so bloated.

I very rarely take anything for colds. So far so good for me as I have not been sick. Hope you are feeling better soon Josie!

Valerie...good luck with the second shot. My shoulders feel great. Next time I will not wait so long before calling the doctor. Have a great trip.

Deb...wow! That is a lot of work! Good luck with your appt.

Lynda...very funny about Max. I think that was what it was with Chester. Just happy to get out and then could not help himself when we came up to the pond.

Judy...I love a good cleansing project! You always feel so good afterwards.

Have a great night all!

Hi Everyone,

This morning I did a segment of Core Max and all of Turbo Barre. That felt really good today, just what I needed.

Deb-it rained here all day. It's supposed to rain all week and be in the 50's.

Valerie-I hope your cortisone shot works well for you. The past 2 days my hip has felt better so maybe I won't need to do PT much longer.

Lynda-That's a good response. I think I will be better prepared, if I do go back to see him again.

Lori-Great job on the 21 day fix! Can't wait to see the photo of Nilla!

Josie-I hope you are feeling better.

Good morning,

No class last night, but for some reason I tossed and turned all night. I was awake at 4:12, so I decided to get up.

Valerie, I would think that it was warm enough there that the mice would not need to squat in your garage. Have you found a nest? Actually, we have never had the chance to see if the dogs would jump in and swim, I would love to have a place to go that we could let them loose to do that. I don't think they would do it in very cold water though. LOL. Have a good trip.

Lynda, now we have had mice in the basement, but never under hoods of our cars. Ugh. I thought only cats did that. Funny how all dogs are different.

Lori, good job on sticking with the 21 DF food plan! I assume the Mass holiday was due to the marathon? I also read about that leg premix being a favorite of some of the Cathletes. I need to keep it in mind. Yes, can't wait to see the picture of Nilla.

Judy, that workout was amazing! Glad your hip is better. Do you think it's things like squats and lunges that irritate it?

Josie, I hope you are resting and getting over that cold.

Lots of stuff around here and a trip to the pet store for bird food, probably a nap this afternoon.

Take care,

My little cutie. Every time I went to the floor for core work she jumped on. Love her! :)

Hi Deb, Josie, Valerie, Lori, and Judy--

This morning I did Flextrain (56:36).

Lori, Nilla is definitely a cutie and not camera-shy either. I guess you should be thankful Chester doesn't leap on you when doing core work. Yes, yesterday was "Patriots' Day" in our state. It sounds like the 21 day plan is working well for you. Maybe your DH might try it if he sees how it works for you.

Judy, I marvel at the length of your workouts. 74 minutes on Turbo Barre is plenty for me. No add-ons to that one. I wouldn't go back to that doctor--no way.

Deb, mice can squeeze into the smallest spaces and love to chew. The overhead light in one of our cars was out because of wire chewing disabling it. The repair guy said it was quite common. Hope you get some zzzz tonight. Naps always throw me off for a good night's sleep, but if that's what will perk you up, do it.

Hope you feel better soon, Josie!

Good evening ladies!

I had an eye appt this morning so no workout with the ladies. I did do SB barre for 30 mins before I left. Felt good to do some barre. The 21 day fix barre is not your typical barre workout. I can barely see how they can call it barre so it felt good this morning. This evening I did RWH Upper body circuit (no blasts). Great little workout.

Yeah my little Nilla is a cutie. It is amazing after all the years I have never stepped on her. She is always under my feet. Some days it can be a real challenge. I love it though so who am I kidding. :)

Lynda...you are absolutely correct. Really hoping my DH shows interest in the 21D. I could really see him doing this. He has been watching me put together my meals and cooking at night. So I see he has been paying attention. We had a mouse at work that kept eating a very expensive part/wires inside our large production copier in our mailroom. Got to the point the company we leased from said we were going to have to pay for the part if it keeps happening. Up until then the part was covered under the lease. The mailroom person at the time listened to sports/talk radio so I told him to leave it on when he leaves at night and perhaps the mouse would think some one was here and not come in. Funny thing is it never came back and we thought that was so funny!

Deb...I do like that premix a lot as it makes me do core through out. You get to catch your breath inbetween all the hiit in this workout while doing the core. You were up early! I have a couple of bird feeders. I especially tried to keep them full this past winter. I felt bad for the birds if you can believe that!

Judy...I agree with Lynda...after doring Turbo Barre I am pretty much done. Great workout. Glad you are feeling better.

Josie...hope you are feeling better too!

Hi to Valerie!

Morning,

Not a good night again, and then Keegan woke me up at 3:00 to go outside, he must have had some stomach upset, I had to go out to bring him in and found him eating grass. I closed him in his crate after that, ( if he was going to puke it would be contained) and around 3:15 I thought he was puking but he was just making the noises. I still had to jump up and rush him to the bathroom where there is tile. UGH...dogs. I guess another nap is in order today.

Lori, Nilla is so sweet! I agree with whoever said that it is a good thing that Chester doesn't do that while you are doing core work! It's great that the 21 DF eating plan is something you and the Ladies can stick with. Are they seeing results as well? As for the mouse at the office, no way to trap it? We have them at the training hall, but that is a huge warehouse with all kinds of ways for them to get in. We have those electronic things, ( not sure how well they work) and some of those box type traps where they go in and the trap is in there. We do that because of the dogs.

Lynda, it could have been the nap yesterday that threw my night off, even if it was only about 20 minutes. Maybe I am better not trying to nap, so I can see if it helps sleeping later. Patriot's Day....and here I thought it was because of the marathon!

Hi to Josie, and Valerie,

Not much else going on here, I think I will be cleaning the room in our basement that has all our painting and cleaning supplies....it's a disaster. Then I have to find out what the rules are for tossing old paint cans...some locales let you put them out if the paint is totally dried out, some you have to put kitty litter in to make sure it is dry etc. This is only water based, oil based has to be taken somewhere. I doubt we have any oil based...

Take care,

Hi Deb, Josie, Valerie, Lori, and Judy--

This morning I did Dancin' Abs (58:00).

Happy Earth Day everyone! The college celebrates the whole week and all of the food in the dorms must come from within 150 miles of the college, so DH has sold them a lot of meat (and I do mean a LOT!). Major problem for students is the moratorium on coffee for the week, since no one grows coffee beans locally. The local coffee house, on the other hand, has a bonanza.

Lori, that would be great for your husband if he sees how well it's working for you. Maybe the mouse was not a sports fan. Max is pretty good at catching mice if he sees them in the barn. DH sometimes helps him if they hide under something he can move. Max has major issues with chipmunks and squirrels, because they taunt him.

Deb, yes, dogs--can't live with them, can't live without them.
