Hi all,
Sorry to be MIA, just busy around here with a 2 legged patient and a 4 legged one. First the 2 legged: went to the DR this morning for the after surgery follow up. All is looking good, he doesn't have to wear the patch any longer ( glad for that because it was making him feel horrible). Only needs to take the other med if needed. Stays on the anti-biotic which is no big deal. He feels so much better. Tomorrow is his birthday and when I asked him what he wanted, he said he got the best gift of all with the surgery, doesn't need a thing. Of course I will get him something. He has "agreed" to go look at the Apple store later to see if he would like an iPad.
Now for the 4 legged one that we went to the vet for yesterday for a follow up to his stay 2 weeks ago. He is not doing so well. His PH was 5 which is on the bad side. It should be 7 or close to it. Put him on 2 different meds, and kept him on the anti-biotic. I am worried because one of the meds is a steroid, which is a great anti-inflamatory for his bladder/kidney issue, but not good if he has oxalate stones, because steroids promote the development of these. The vet said he has to get his urine back to normal PH, and since this will be a very short time on the steroids, he is going to go with what is urgent for him right now which is to get the inflamation out of his bladder etc. I put my trust in what he recommends, as he is the one that pulled Kelsey out of a lot of bad times and kept her pretty much going until she was 15.
Valerie, I will definitely sell you my Spinning DVD at a good price if you are looking to get it. I basically got the whole package including this one because it brought the price over $99 and then you got free shipping.
Josie, I am right there with you....I hate when people yak and yak about their personal lives, especially when there is work to be done.
Garance, I have a really good friend that I have been friends with since we were both 15. We don't get together too often but when we do, it's a marathon coffee drinking breakfast/lunch and sometimes goes to dinner time. and we do all the griping, whining and complaining to each other, because we can and we both know it is ok to do so. Then we feel better afterwards, getting it all out. Maybe that is what your friend needs and she knows that you will listen and not judge.
Hi to Joan ( ??) and Cathy,
take care.
