So I just finished a good strong round of STS Meso 2. Tonight I started Meso 1. I know it's backwards; but I'm one to do what I feel like doing and after lifting heavy for a month I thought I'd lift for endurance (as I patiently wait for the Ripped series!). Anyway, Meso 1 disc 1 has a ton of pushups in it. I did almost all of them, but I paused and rested when I needed to and then finished them. The boot camp and staggered at the end though I just wrote "ugly" in my log. I tried to do them...but was just too spent to get many out.

The dvd says the disc is 50 minutes long. If I didn't rest, it would be-so it took me about an hour to finish.

My question is this: Do you think I should just do the dvd as is and do as many reps as I can and finish in 50 minutes? Or, should I do the program like I did and rest in order to get as many possible reps done? Which is better or are they both good?

Thanks,

Beth

They are two different ways of training: either for time or for max volume of work. Choose your poison! I prefer volume of work every time, so I finish al reps, no matter how long it takes. I want my body to get used to the time under tension and to build endurance.

  • opting for a modification and complete the move for same reps and time. i.e no rest
With time you will build endurance.
  • Do as many as you can resting and gradually reduce the rest time in future.
