One bodypart a day question

Hi Cathe,

I've been trying a one bodypart a day rotation for quite a while to build muscle and lose fat. I try to do either an S&H bodypart and cardio, or a combo of PS/CTX/Pyramids for one bodypart and cardio. If I do legs, I combine it with another upper body part, and skip cardio.

My question is, "How do I fill 30 minutes with one bodypart, and stay heavy enough to build muscle?". I've read that you and some of your background exercisers work one bodypart a day, so I figure you are doing the one bodypart for at least 30 minutes.

When I start with PS Chest, for example, and then do CTX Chest, I must move down quite a bit in weight to be able to continue to lift fot 30 minutes. I wonder if I'm defeating the purpose of building muscle when the workout changes into more endurance than strength. S&H doesn't cause the problem, because the lifts are slow enough to stay heavy for the full 30 minutes.

Hope this makes sense,

I think as long as you're doing the heaviest weight you can manage for each particular exercise, you'll be fine. As long as you're fatiguing your muscles, they'll grow. But I'm no expert, of course. :)
