My 7 year old girls want to do yoga with me

What do you think? Rebekkah previwed the MTV Power yoga one with me and she was doing some of the poses and asked me if she could do them with me. She says "But I don't have my own mat" I told her I am starting Monday and Hanna chimed in and she asked if she could do it too?
So my grandma is going to pick up a mat for each and their own stability ball they love the ball exercises too so I will pick out a few ball exercises for them that are more fun than anything. How about Pikes and Planks. Do you know the smallest balls they make?

This should be ok right as long as they do not overdue it.

There is absolutely no problem with your girls doing yoga or anything like it. Think of it as another way to do gymnastics or dance. :) They will have so much fun, and so will you! :) Enjoy!!

I have a 9yo Hannah, great name! My dd's love to work out with me and think the stability ball is the most fun toy! ;-)

I agree, they will have fun with it. They probably won't overdo it, if they're anything like my girls they get bored after about 10-15 minutes... ;-)

My DDs are almost 6 and almost 4.

They soemtimes join in on athletic-style workout like Bootcamp or KB. I actually have 2 extra steps so sometimes they'll even do step but most of the time they end up doing their own thing, crashing into eachother, giggling, etc. Its very cute.

My 5-yo though LOVES classical stretch and will do the whole hour with me. Why not??!! It's great bonding time. Like Denise Austin says:p "strong bodies, strong minds!"

>Just don't get jealous about how much more flexible they
>are!!!!

Yep I did think about this and I had a good laugh.

My now 5 year old started doing yoga with me (then taking a kids class), when she was 4. She loved it. I'd say let them do whatever they want to do, and don't stress about anything about their "practice." Just let them have fun.
