Moral Debate

Hiya,

Today, I was driving in traffic when all of a sudden I heard a 'Psss' sound. It was some guy trying to get my attention in a car in another lane. Hey, when I get compliments I am flattered but this guy grossed me out. He was naked, (some sort of exibitionist,I guess) and he was snd was shaking his ding -a -ling/ genitals at me. I was so grossed out. My first instinct was to turn away but then I got angry and grabbed my camera/video phone and got a few clear video images and pictures of him in all is nakedness.

My dilemna is this. Should I post these pictures on the net,or e-mail it all around the world or just delete it. I really dont know. I know that there are many sick people in the world, and most of them need professional help, but I have the need for revenge. I feel so violated to have him show himself to me. The sicko.

By the way, in this age of technology, why dont people realize that they are not invincible.

Waterlily, I'm so sorry you were violated in this way!!!! I know you're still dealing with your emotions on this one so you might take a few hours to think about it.

It sounds to me (and of course I wasn't there) that if you do anything with the photos, you'll be giving this guy even more power over you than he had just exposing himself to you.

If you do share the photos, will that get you the revenge you're looking for? It clearly won't hurt him (and I suspect he won't even know), but it isn't likely to show you in your best light, either.

Clearly, just my .02!!!

IMHO you should make a police report. If you got a clear shot of the car, and maybe even the license plate, this exhibitionist would have a pretty fair chance of being prosecuted for indecent exposure. What he did is a crime in most jurisdictions (and just in passing, I'd be wanting to get out of the jurisdiction where it WASN'T a crime), and it's lucky that a child wasn't exposed to it, instead an adult with her wits about her.

I think you should take it to the police. You have no idea what this person may have already done, or may do in the future. I know they probably won't arrest him but they should be alerted that this individual is in the area doing this sort of thing. I hate the thought of this jerk getting near children.

I agree that the police should be made aware. I also highly doubt that revenge would be yours if you posted these anywhere, let alone all over the world. This person obviously gets off on this so it would only be helping him. If he's doing this often, and people are reporting him, there's a better chance of catching him.

I dont think putting it on the net is that right thing to do at all...in a way, it would make you as bad as he is. I would take it to the police as the last person mentioned. He might be someone who is dangerous - who knows?

take the pictures to the police let them show his face, somebody will turn him in. that is gross and violating and so sorry you had to go through that but you could be the one person that has evidence of this to turn him in. many probably have been victimized but never though of getting their camera phones out. you could make the difference and his day in court will be the revenge so sweet if the good lord doesn't get him first.

Wow, I am so sorry this happened to you... I would certainly be creeped out.
You definitely need to share these pics with someone- like the police. They may recognize the guy. Hey, if he did this to you, he may have done it or will do it to someone else. You may be able to help catch this weirdo.

Dont know if this was mentioned or not already but this happened to a girl on a NY Subway a while ago. A fellow flashed her and she took his photo in all his manly glory with her phone. She sent the photo to the times (or whatever ny paper) and they put it (with a blue dot) on the front page! The page asked if anyone could id the flasher!
Someone did and the guy was arrested. Turned out he has a long running problem with this. Some sleeze lawyer then filed saying that his privite parts should not have been broadcasted (apparent the full photo was available on the web somewhere). The argument was that HE HIMSELF made a decision to expose himself.
At anyrate this went on to tv shows and nightly news programs. The flasher admited he had a problem.

So maybe contact a news station/paper?

Something tells me this guy would love to have his photos on the net. Maybe I'm a prude, but I'd call the police. Did you take a picture of a license plate number?

How disgusting! I agree with everybody, go to the police, again we don't know if this sicko is doing the same thing to young children and teenagers.

The same thing happened to me and my friends in a dept store in Paris. We screamed bloody murder and the offending creep ran away like mad. You've got pix of this guy, so IMO taking them to the police is a great idea. Help get him off the streets.

I agree, take it to the police. If they do know who he is or someone else can identify him, it may save other people from having to go through the same violation. I am so sorry you had to go through that. I was chased with a bunch of my girlfriends, one night when I was a teenager, by a naked man and it was terrifying.

I think the more attention you put to this, the worse it is for you. Just delete it and forget about it. I've had it happen, it's creepy for sure. I just think it's better to move on, he's clearly someone with problems.

Take the pictures to the police and file a report.

This guy may get his jollies by flashing people in cars now, but consider what he might decide to do when flashing gets old and he needs to step things up to satisfy whatever sick need he has.

Report him.

I am so very sorry that this happened to you. It happened to me about 15 years ago. Some sicko asked me for directions (we were in a supermarket shopping lot), and of course I went over to his car window to give him directions. He was masturbating...YUCK!!! I was young and naive then.

Anyhow...since you were thinking smart "on your feet" and took the picture, I would definitely file a Police report. You know this was not his first time and he may do it to someone's son or daughter. He may be dangerous...we don't know.

Again...I'm so sorry this happened to you. I give you a lot of credit for being able to take control and take his picture at such a shocking time.

I agree with others...the sicko would probably LOVE to have his picture on the internet. Personally, I think his picture should be in a book at the Police station.

It's just my opinion. Best of luck to you!!!
