Mild body acne?

I have been suffering with mild body acne all summer long. I have tried several body washes, but nothing seems to be working. I have very oily skin, so I try to use products specifically for my skin type. I have been told to stay away from bar soap, which I have been doing. I have used expensive brands from Murad to cheaper store brands like Cetaphyl (Sp?) & nothing seems to work. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I like Neutrogena's Clear Body Wash (the one with the exfoliating beads). I've used it forever and it seems to work better than anything out there. I also have to be careful in the summer not to get too much sun because this can really contribute to oily skin and acne. Also I have to pay attention to remove my wet sports bra ASAP after working out to try and keep dry. Occasionally I will use some non talcum powder to keep dry if I know I'm going to be sweating a lot. But mostly I would suggust trying to keep as dry as possible and stay out of the sun.

Lori-
I checked out the site and was wondering if you use the same product for your face and back or is there a specific product for the body?
It's an interesting site. Have you used other products and if so, how does it compare? Thanks
Carolyn

Hi Aila,

I have the same problem.:( I found a great website a few years ago and it's been a real lifesaver! They have pretty much anything you need to address acne and just about any other dermatologic issue you can think of. The site is run by a dermatologist and it's loaded with information.

I use a line of products by M.D. Forte, a medical grade product, and Peter Thomas Roth. The Peter Thomas Roth BPO Medicated Acne Wash is great. It comes in a couple of different strengths. I hope this helps.

Hi Carolyn,

I do use the same product for my face, chest and back. I use the skin balancing cleanser, followed by the 2% BHA(the liquid). I also use the blemish fighting solution occasionally when I have a breakout.
I've been using her products since she launched them several years ago and it's the only thing that's really worked for me. Before that I used Cetaphyl, Noxema, Proactiv, Aveeno, Neutrogena, Mary Kay, Avon...There are probably others I just can't remember them all!

Lori

P.S. One of the best tips I got from Paula's Choice is that plain baking soda makes a very good, gentle scrub when mixed with cleanser.
