Low Carbers & Friends - April 2011

Boy or boy, Lita, you sure are on top of getting these new threads in each month. I remember last year! Thanks for getting it started. March was 5 weeks long, seemed to go a long time for me.

Weather is still not so great, hoping it will warm up soon. Will do some kind of cardio tonight.

Have a good weekend everyone!

Melinda - I think I'm just back into my anal OCD phase again ;).... Hope you have a good weekend too - and soon get some spring weather to go along with it :)!

Hi all!

Hope your cold is better Melinda.

Always appreciate the new thread! Never anal for us! LOL

HI Tracy!

I've been doing the hardwood floor lunge and bend over workout. It is quite a workout. I actually broke a sweat a couple of times yesterday. I know I have to be burning off some sort of calories. Today I'm back at work, but only for the morning. DH has another special board meeting this afternoon, so tired of blasted wrongful allegations. His blood pressure is off the charts again. Needs to quit that job and just teach. The world today is so "go after 'em" if you don't get your way.

Rhea - Glad it's never too anal :D!!!! That sounds like the a killer workout you're doing - ouch !!! I am so sorry DH (and you) are going through such nonsense !!!! Some days I really wonder what society has come to ! But I'm sure you see more than enough of THAT every day, too :p! Hang in there - hopefully the house will soon be done and you can slow down. And all my cyber support, thoughts and prayers go to you and DH to get through the garbage!

Rhea, I hope the insanity can end soon for DH. All my husband wants to do after he gets a job is go on a serious money saving campaign and retire to get out of the rat race. We are being really careful how we spend money, not wasting it, rethinking if we need things, just so we can put all away that we can. Then we will move onto volunteering, which I know has it's own problems, but not as intense as the business world.

Tracy, how are you doing? How's BB?

Lita, I don't mind you being anal! Go for it girl :) I am that way too about certain things, just not starting threads!

OK, so I decided to dive into STS again. Did dvd #1. Will try to do that M,W,F for the next 3 months. I'm not traveling at all during that time, until I get this class over!

babes! BB seems to be having a hard week. Teething again I think. Not wanting to stay in his crate all night and making quite the racket! So we're tired today! :p And BB is asleep!

Rhea, that is quite a workout putting in hardwood floors! I'm so sorry you and DH have to deal with that crap!!:mad: We get a lot of it where I work too. If life isn't going well, let's blame the schools and government! :( I haven't done the new Tracie workouts yet for the same reason that you haven't!

Melinda, I know you will do great in your next class, as always! My doggie training is always on Saturdays and I told DH we'll likely be doing it for a year! :p

Winter is back. Not happy.

Lita, I am very glad there's been no killin'! :D

Did STS TB on Monday, Intensity yesterday and nothing yesterday. Well, had a glass of wine at my hair appt.! Don't know what I'll do today.

I did see the announcement about Cathe's new series but she hasn't given details yet. I'm looking forward to is as usual, liking the low impact approach!

Happy Thursday babes!

Tracy - I almost spoke too soon about the killin' ;).

Melinda - I know you'll rock in that class !

Rhea - You hanging in there, girl :)?

I'll be a party pooper and admit I'm not excited about the new workouts. I read the info and the idea of using plates for cardio scares me. As for the weight workouts, I'm disappointed they're going to be endurance workouts. Using plates for the upper body, especially, just makes me think of things I already can't do (like most of the plates part of STS W&P abs) and gives me nightmares of 1000 pushups in one workout .

Of course, I wanted MY way and wanted low impact cardio (without plates, thank you :p - more a la LM and LIC ) and HEAVY weight work (a la S&H). Oh well.... I'll just keep on hoping ;).

You are not a party pooper Lita! I completely understand your concerns. I guess the variety Cathe spoke of got me excited with how the cardio will be done. It looks like she may have clips up before the pre-order starts because she is filming already. It would be nice if that happened so you can decide if it is something you could do.

Thanks, Tracy :). You know me - old stick in the mud ;). Variety means change and this old dog and new tricks do not play well together.... :p  :p!

I don't know if I'll get the new workouts. Please let me know when you see clips posted, I don't really surf around this website too much.

Beginning 2nd week of STS today. Sunday it was 84 degrees and sunny. We went for a bike ride. Got very intense biking with some heavy winds, but was beautiful out. I loved it.

I was looking through my workout calendar, I did my first STS workout in Feb 09. I couldn't believe it's been out for 2 years! Then I looked through there and I had done STS (with little breaks between) through Nov 2010. I had no idea. So I took 5 mo off and here I am again, but this time I'm only doing it once through and will do other stuff.

Have a good week everyone!

Wow, Melinda, that's summertime weather !!!! Yep, you've been pretty darned consistent with STS ;). But I didn't realize it was two years, either - time goes way too quickly :(!

Well, you know me....I'll probably be getting them Especially since they are low impact.

I have to get on Facebook and write Cathe. Thanks to all those low ends that we do, I have not been that bad with muscle soreness from my hardwood floor "workouts." The position that you are in for installing is like being in a constant low-end crouch. Sure beats having a sore low back like I did the first time I ever installed hardwood floors. Have not had that problem at all this time and I've been installing a LOT more than before.

Still working away at the floors, only have the rest of the kitchen, the hallway and my room to go! Wooo hooo ...oooh and the laundry room still needs to be tiled, but that is going to be last. Right now I have a sign up on the door, NO BOOTS allowed....LOL.

Wow, Rhea - that's great that your back is cooperating with all that hard work :D!!!!! I'll bet you're counting down the square inches until that floor is done ;) :p! Of course, we expect you to get these - you are the most consistent video purchasing person I know :D!

Hi babes! I agree that Rhea is our video vixen here! :D What kind of wood flooring are you installing Rhea? We're going to be able to contract some of the work out that we don't want the builder to do, such as the trim package. We have a friend that can get us better quality shtuff. I hadn't thought of floors yet, but we could do that as well if we want to put them in ourselves. But I'm not sure we wanna do that! I'm glad your back is pain-free during your hard work!

84 degrees Melinda? We haven't gotten above 61 degrees yet this year! I told you all winter came back, and I wasn't kidding darn it! 48 for a high tomorrow. I didn't realize STS was 2 years old either!

Lita, what are you doing this week? I did Amy Bento's new rebounder Bootcamp workout yesterday and it nearly killed, me, seriously! She's tall so jumping on and off the rebounder like she and her crew did was out of the question for me. And I failed on the tricep dips--do 4 dips, move 4 spaces on your rebounder, then do 4 dips...for 2 minutes!!! This is the toughest workout Amy has ever done. I'll let you know if her Kickbox one gives us any mercy! :p Today was a walk/run with BB. It wore us both out. :D I think I'll finish the week out with GS Upper Body premix and Lower Body Blast.

Have a fit week babes!

Glad you could pop in, Tracy :D! That does sound like a tough workout! I actually switched to 4DS this week but doing BC one day and KB the next killed my legs so I did just the rest of the upper body parts (chest, back, shoulders) yesterday. I still can't walk without pain so I don't think I'm going to try to get in the last two cardios. Might do STS 4 upper only tomorrow - or may just take the day off since this time change is killing me. You figured that was coming, didn't you ;) :p ????

From the 84 degrees, it dipped back to the 40s. But we're back up again to 60s and 70s. NICE!

I am stressed from my class, the real answer is why do I do this to myself? UGH. I have my first test on Saturday and I'm freaking out, it is awful. Work is stressful too. Not the spring I want.

finished 2nd week of STS.

Have a good weekend everyone

(((Melinda!!!!))) I hope your test went well yesterday!!!! If anyone can do it, YOU can !!! Hang in there :)!

Melinda - I know you did just fine! You always do.

Here's a pix of the kitchen and the game room (if it wants to upload today, it has been very uncooperative)
